It's the finales they remember

Has anyone noticed that TPTB forget a lot of the stuff that happens during the season but remember the season finales/premieres?

Think about it, we got a reference to the tornado in Spirit.

The show is constantly referencing Clark running off to Metropolis (I think the last reference was in Fanatic). Not so much Lex getting stranded on the island, but yeah, Clark.

Then there's when Clark got sucked into the cave wall. The Chloe blow-up thing is still referenced from time to time.

The second meteor shower was a theme throughout S5.

And finally, we're still dealing with the reprocussions of Zod.

I do think that this is at least a little bit of consistency, but there's more going on in the show than just what strings two seasons together.

well, the bigest events are usually in the season finales/ premiers. The tornado, Clark running off to metropolis, the meteor shower (both of them actually) and Zod are HUGE life changeing events that would be very hard to forget. Whereas, "hey remember that old guy who got young" is a little less memorable.

^ true. on top of that, they do say things. i was just watching s5's 'aqua' where clark talks about "a kid last year who ran too fast for his own good". they do talk about the in between stuff, but we dont care about it enough to pick up on it. they talk about the finales because, like you said, its the finales we remember.

I said it's the finales they remember-- meaning Al & Miles. We, of course, remember it all, but for the most part, they'll forget an entire season and just go with the finales, like that's important.

Actually, the last reference to Clark running away to Metropoli was in Reckoning (The first half). Lex said it to Lana.
