I guess I'm starting this thread to find out who on K-site doesn't eat meat.
What are your reasons for not eating meat? Are they political? Ethical? Is it because meat just doesn't taste good?
I'm a lacto vegetarian. I do drink milk, but I don't eat eggs or meat. I just don't like eggs. They're disgusting. Why would I want to eat a chicken's ovulation?
As for why I don't eat meat, I love someone who doesn't like the way meat tastes and I made the comittment with her.

I have a feeling this will be moved to the water cooler..
But I dont eat beef or pork. Never really liked it.. always made me sick and my mother doesn't so I was just raised like that. I do occasionally eat pepperoni on pizza.. but that makes me sick too.. SO.. I am kind of half and half:lol:.. I only eat chicken and turkey:)

I'm a vegitarian :)
I drink milk and eat eggs, though. I'm a vegitarian because I don't think it's fair to take an animal's life for our own enjoyment. There are other foods that you can live with. You don't need to kill anyone to get milk or eggs.
I was raised as a vegitarian, but now my mom eats seafood and my brother eats chicken. I still don't eat meat. I've tried meat, I've tried chicken and shrimp, I didn't like it. I don't think I'll like other meat, too.
Once I accidently ate a chicken nugget because I thought it was a latke :p I didn't know what it looked like because I never had one before :o
I used to be a vegetarian for 3 years. Ethical reasons. Bu then I had to give it up because of health problems, as in I lacked iron (iron??).
But truthfully I don't like meat that much. Nor eggs, they disgust me, so slimy eww haha. I don't like milk but I do love yoghurt and cheese :D
Hey Axel, Clear your pm box :) :p
As for me, well, I'm a meat-eater. But I did used to have a vegetarian friend. He used to love Tofu-burgers and Tofu-dogs, etc. What's the point of being a vegetarian if all you're ever going to do is eat fake meat?
There is some pretty good Vegetarian food out there, I've tried these weird breaded spinach things that are amazing, but i'll never eat a Tofu-burger. What's the point?
Hahaha so true, I hated fake meat. It tasted like plastic! >.<

I am a meat eater. and no offense to anyone, but i don't really respect the vegetarian way. I have friends who are vegetarians, and i don't really tell them what i think about it. i just let them be. but I feel that certain animals were put on this earth for the sole perpsoe of eating, and by eating them we get vital nutrients that you can't really get in other things as well as you can get them from meat. yes i think the animals should be treated more humainly while they are alive as in not stimulating their growth just so they will get bigger faster, but i do believe certain animals are meant to be eaten, and thats why they are here.
though i do NOT support the eating of rabbits, for they are cute and fluffy and anything that cute should not be eaten.

anything cute should not be eaten?.. well I hate to say it but some may find little piggies and cows cute:p
I just don't eat beef and pork cause that's how I was raised... I don't think that an animal's sole prupose in life is to be food.. and I think that there are alot of other ways we can get nutrients.... as for tofu.. I like it... tofu burgers are yummy:D. .although some of that fake meat makes me want to gag.

I'm a vegetarian. Occasionally, like on the holidays, I'll eat turkey. Maybe a little chicken. But I really don't like the way it tastes. I eat eggs all the time.
And yeah. Sometimes tofu can be naaaaaastay!

I truthfully really dislike meat especially red meat but I still eat it. If I can find something covered in chilli or herbs etc I'll eat it. I also don't eat eggs.... have to agree with topic poster who wnats to eat a chicken's ovulation. Bleugh. Plus when you have chickens and roosters of your own it's kinda hard not to imagine accidentily eating a half deformed chick...

I love vegetarians all i eat are vegetarians. A joke us hunters love to say to vegetarians.I can see why one would only eat vegtables thou. I dont eat beef or chicken only venison and legal game birds and wild pork.nothing like eating something you killed you cleaned and you cooked.
I can understand someone becoming vegetarian if they don't like the taste of meat. But to not eat meat because you don't want animals to suffer is just stupid. Think of all the poor little animals that get crushed by those combine harvesters and other farm machinery that work in the fields to give you your soy and tofu. The fields is where animals live, its impossible to not kill them with the machinery. At least if you eat a steak, you know just the one animal has died, that organic salad you're eating probably cost 3 rabbits, 2 small birds, a few mice and maybe a lizard.
And don't get me started on those people who claim to be vegetarian but still eat seafood. Like if the animal doesn't scream it therefore can't feel pain, and is ok to eat.
