I thought that that was a very well done scene, with lots of emotion and feeling. =] Though, I find it to be sad, NOT SURPRISING that Lionel isn't with his son celebrating .. =/

I loved this scene. Clark is very mature, and not in some stupid outfit, he looked good. He smiled warmly. He made it clear he is grateful to his mom and dad, cut to lionel embarrassed.
It was great.
the jimmy call clearly was sign from TPTB there will be no chlarking.

yeah i loved that scence. You could actually got a glimps at the man Clark will be like when he grows up (maturity wise) but i loved it because it showed that a family, (no matter how different each other is) cares for each other and watches out for each other.....i got teary eyed......yep.....evry time they mention Jonathan not there i just can't help it......*goes of and see some episode were Jon is in*... better now.......yes very wonderfuly done scene..... i give it a ten!

I agree it was good to show lionel disappointment when he mention his dad.And jus hearin jimmy mention while offscreen was good for the ship, cause any other time he'd be left out like he doesn't exist. As for the txt to chloe, yea it was a good touch cause while clark was sittin there smilin at everyone he saw from the one person(Chloe)that even she had sumone. So I wouldn't say there will be no chlark jus no sudden chlark.Chlimmy will last til april tops since he has the next 2 episodes before jan,and 2 after jan,so they may space those out.But chlark will have to wait that was obvious tonight,I luved clark expression tho.Cause he didn't mind loillie kissin or his mom smilin wit lionel but soon as he saw chloe he realize that he was the odd one again.Great fam scene

I still have trouble believing that Chloe and Lionel Luthor can sit unawkwardly next to each other at Thanksgiving dinner after the MB's multiple attempts on Chloe's life. Granted it was end of 3rd season beginning of 4th, but you don't forget almost being blown up/ Terminatored in a mere two years.

Well remember she had no prob gettin in the limo in vessel and seemed alright bein in his office in Zod.I think she's like clark she doesn't mind bein around him,but thinks she should stay guarded cause she knows what he is capable of wit clark secret.Plus if we say chloe, then we must say lois as well since she went to the prison to give a message to lionel. But I think now everyone is cool wit him,but jus keepin their eyes open at the same time,no big deal imo.If anythin lionel looked more awkward espcially when clark spoke

Tom definitely stepped up to the plate in this scene, and IMO brought this whole episode full circle with it. It's amazing the maturity that Clark has undergone. Everyone did contribute something to this scene. Jimmy's text to Chloe also helped. Although this was the best scene in the whole ep, I was disappointed that Clark was the only one to say what he was greatful for. I was anticipating what everyone else was going to say.

I did enjoy this scene, as well. It definetly was a nice glimpse into the mature Clark and I hope we see more of that guy...he is much needed.

It was a nice ending for the episode and it was nice to see the contrast between that Thanksgiving and the Thanksgiving at the Luthor mansion.

I have never been a really big fan of Lana...but I have to say, for the first time in a long time...I felt bad for her. That scene at the mansion spoke a lot in only a few short minutes. She made her choice and I think she is more than regretting it now.

Yeah, Clark seemed mature and comfortable with himself, and projected a sense of security, just sitting back and smiling and watching over and protecting the whole group, even Lionel. Maybe a little glimpse of Superman finally coming through.

I was surprise that Lana wasn't celebrating with her best girlfriend Chloe. The Lexana thaksgivig scene for me was kinda sad, being that its only the 2 of them.

I agree. TPTB can mess up on a lot of plot details, but sometimes they do really well with images and symbolism. The contrast between the two Thanksgivings was definitely nice. The Kent's was warm and comfortable, the Luthor's cold and impersonal. Really well done. I loved that long, waspish table that he and Lana sat on opposite ends of.

It was a nice contrast. I especially enjoyed the Kent's Thanksgiving meal. Having Lionel there helped lend it that sense of surreal WTF that this show always excels so well at.

I thought the scene was nice -- emotional even -- except that no one offered to express their own thanksgiving after Clark. I waited, expecting, and nothing. My own family does this at Thanksgiving. Oh, and if you're nine years old I don't recommend that you give thanks for your new Lego Space set, no matter how cool it is. It just invites cold eyed stares from your mother.:o

The contrast between the Kent Thanksgiving and the Luthor is something that Smallville excels at. They may not write consistent stories, but this show is visually stunning at times.

what go me about this scene was that clark said it was tradition for everone to say what they were thankful for, and only clark did, and nobody else.

and thats kicking it smallville-style.

I also enjoyed the scene, but thought it kind of disjointed that no one else shared anything.

I guess the writers thought it would be tedious to go around the table and have everyone say something...maybe it could have shown each person talking and just have the song going and not have us hear the dialogue. But for the "Clark is allllll alone" vibe they have been going for lately it worked better to have the people interacting one with another rather than sharing with the whole table, so he was on the outside looking in.

I said that in the other post on this same topic. They could have pulled the camera back with the music playing while everyone in turn gave their thanks. You're right, though, they wanted to reinforce the "Clark is alone" theme they've been pushing all season. I guess after dinner Clark must have gone back to the loft to play with his balls.

I didn't like the scene too much, actually. Maybe I'm just old-fasioned, when it comes to SV... I hated the fact that Lionel was there, sorry that man is evil. I hate Mionel... And Ollie? Why is this show about Ollie, all of a sudden?!? What I miss, is a good-old thanksgiving dinner at the Kent farm with Clark, lex, Lana, Chloe and Pete. Yes, you heard well, Lex and Lana...

Indeed. But his acting was atrocious at the start of the episode. I was trying to imagine myself trying to deliver those lines, but I knew it was impossible without sounding idiotic. He did the best with the writing material, but oh boy, it was awful.

The Clana scene was excellent acting, from both sides, IMO...
