Wow, I was really shocked...well sorta, cause we all knew that Lionel liked Martha. But I never thought Martha actually liked Lionel like THAT.. =/

I was most shocked how hard martha is pursuing Lionel.
Lionel backed away and Martha ran after him , almost literally.

Actually, I was too. It's been the other way around the whole time.

I liked how it was written. It dosen't make Martha look *bad* for not only possibly being interested in someone after her husbands passing - but especially because that someone is Lionel. IMO, the Mional was done very respectfully tonight.

As much as it felt like my mom making out, I liked it.

They both have been eyeing each other for a long time.

Don't like it and it is out of character for someone like Martha who had a good and lasting relationship with Jonathan. TPTB must feel they need to dumb Martha down too.

Oh yeah, there was Mionel. As usual, I loved it. Did you SEE how close they were?

And of course, when Martha said she wanted them to be together on thanksgiving, I just heard "I want us to be together." Girl can dream, right? :D

I am still having a hard time with the image of Lionel, Chloe, Clark and Martha sitting together and sharing bread! I mean, he has caused trouble for all three of them at one point or another, and the fact that they can accept him in their home, well let's just say forgivness must be a big thing in the Kent family! Either that or denial! Personally, I am still waiting to catch a pig flying in the sky!................

I had a hard time deciding if I liked the Mionel or not. I would've been upset if they kissed, but I think I didn't mind Lionel being there at dinner. I missed JK a lot, though. I don't know...it was weird, but as long as Lionel is good, I guess I don't mind Mionel.

Lionel is like watching the Grinch grow a heart, once it starts growing there's no turning back. Couldn't help to think that JK spun twice in his grave when he saw Lionel at the Thanksgiving table.
I don't want to see Mionel happen but I can't turn away!

Yes, one of the best things about Mionel is how much it would freak Clark out...during the almost-kiss scene, I was just waiting for Clark to show up and be like "What are you doing!?" Can you imagine his face? Hilarious.

I hate Mionel.

Superman's mom having an affair with Lex Luthor's dad is gross. It is a humiliation of the mythos and it takes away the dignity and integrity of Superman.

What were they thinking?

And besides, I am a forever Jonathan Kent fan, I love JS, I can't believe he was killed off from the show like that..

So I officially hate Mionel.. I might begin to hate Martha too, if this continues, which I really don't want..

Mionel sucks, really it does!!!

i dont mind her beign with anyone else, but lionel? this is just wrong, i cant even imagine my mother having an affair with a man who was the reason my dad passed away. Mionel indeed IS a humliation of the mythos.

<Lionel and Martha are about to kiss, when Clark bursts through the door>
Clark: What the hell are you doing?!
Lionel: N-n-now, Clark...
Clark: Get away from her!
Lionel: T-take it easy, I wasn't going to do anything...
Clark: You're not my father!
Lionel: Of course not, but I can channel him...
<Clark's eyes start glowing red>
Lionel: Okay, okay, I'll leave her alone. I'll even get you a present. A car perhaps? A new jacket?
Clark: Fry, old man.
Lionel: Wait! I'll get you and Lex back together!
Clark: Really? :) I'm free Friday night, I'll bring the champagne. Tell him not to be late.

The Jonathan-Martha talk in Oracle perfectly describes why Mionel is an abomination. Yes, I know that was Brainiac in disguise, but he got Jonathan's emotions spot on. You cannot overlook the evil Lionel has done in Season 1, 2, and 3.

I agree with Farm Girl. I don't understand why the writers have chosen to make Lionel Luthor a big factor in Clark's destiny as Superman, why him? Martha may be thankful to him for arranging Clark's adoption, but she is forgetting about the fact that Lionel blackmailed Jonathan into convincing the Ross family into selling their factory or he would expose the phony adoption. He was willing to let her son die in jail when he switched bodies and almost killed Jonathan. Rich or not, I think Martha could do better. It makes her look too vulnerable and not the strong person she is supposed to be.

I'm all for Smallville constantly challenging our preconceptions about the characters' beginnings and such, but the Mionel scene made me feel uncomfortable to say the least.

But I'm still going to watch Mionel if TPTB decide to pursue it further. It's like watching "The World's Most Amazing Videos": You know there's a major disaster coming-up but you can't bring yourself to not watch. You're riveted and want to know what happens next.
