I thought "this is lame music" through the entire segment. And wondered why Clark was the only one who bothered to share what he was thankful for...

I thought it was a cute scene...reminded me of one on Felicity though, but good scene none the less

What could you possibly find emotional with that Thanksgiving scene? I kind of laughed at the fact that Lionel Luthor was at the table. A guy who tortured countless people and threatened Clark back in the day has made his way into the Kent House for Thanksgiving dinner. You just can't make this stuff up.

Well I didn't cry but it was powerful. kinda makes you look back. Chloe put Lionel in jail, and they were sitting at the table together. Ollie and Lois looked happy now that things were going good again. Chloe though missing her man seems positively thrilled to see he was missing her. And Martha and Lionel, well I can see that hint of unknown odd feelings that they are still confused about. Now to Clark, though he was maybe saddened that everyone has someone... he was okay with it cause it was Thanksgiving and now wasn't a time to be sad but to be thankful that though hes not IN love, hes loved.

Cut to Lana and Lex....emotions run high. I mean If I was Lana I'd be a jumble of feelings and would just have to burst and tell Lex. But I guess shes strong? And Lex well hes not an idiot. I'm sure hes just glad hes alive after that little druggie shot Ollie pulled. i THINK hes knows whats going on... and that the scene from the trailer is of him showing her the babies room.

my theory... :)

So yes quite a powerful scene. Made me proud I watch Smallville. Glad all the characters have progressed enough to actually sit at a dinner table happy that they've lasted this long. Together.

I almost cried at the Lana parts.. I mean she just seemed so sad throughout the episode, I felt bad for her, and usually she annoys me! LOL.. THe ending was great, I like how they show at the Kent house everyone is all together and it has a family feeling, and then with Lex and Lana, at opposite ends of a verrrry long table lol

TPTB are really sticking it to Lana this year. That should satisfy fans who hate her.

I thought it was very emotional. I didn't cry, but every single person at the table made me feel something.

Didn't cry...not me! I was too angry at Lana for being with Lex instead. Hey, that Lex sure knows how to make a woman feel wanted doesn't he? He could have at least told the servants to go away.

I just kept thinking to myself how Smallville's heaps on the angst with Clark being the only one at the table without a partner, not even Shelby. And the final scene with Lexana was not subtle at all. I mean, rich people don't really eat at opposite ends of the table, except on TV. That's what happens when you analyze an episode as you watch it, and forget to suspend your disbelief. And finally, I thought that only on Smallville would Lana get pregnant from Lex. The show continues to be a soap opera.

I was thinking about time he wears something else besides the blue an red tshirts an it was a differant shade of blue so that fit.. An Yeah I liked the scene I was also hoping to hear what the others were thankful for.. But I guess them showing Ollie an Lois smiling they were obvisiouly happy with each other.. Chloe getting the text message.. martha an lionel.. Clark with memories.. an his mom.

I didn't cry but I did feel touched by the scene. It's good to see something postive and good to characters every once in awhile. It was good to see Martha and Clark smiling especially after all they had been through. This episode ranks behind Reckoning, Lexmas, as the most emotional episodes.

Yep, me too...poor Clark. It's always poor Clark. TW did a good job looking the right amount sad without looking pathetic.

I also was caught off guard when I saw Lionel at the table. I forgot he was coming and it just seemed out of place, esp when they then showed Lex and Lana at the mansion at that big ole table half a mile away from each other with servants on either end..LOL..

I thought for once Clark looked really humbled with himself and that he was finally learning to let go of his relationship issues. His father would've been proud of him there!

What does that mean? "Hook 'em"?

Anyway, I got a little teary eyed when Clark spoke, but then, as someone else pointed out, I noticed Lionel sitting next to Chloe and thought it was nice that a convicted murderer and his intended victim could sit next to each other at Thanksgiving. Anyone else feel cheated that no one besides Clark offered their own thanksgiving?

Lionel: I am thankful to be surrounded by such gullible naive morons...oops! I mean, such wonderful new friends! Yes, that's it, wonderful new friends.

Clark: *Beams*

Good one MBCorp.

Yeah, I thought Clark was happy to have these people in his life, and to be resigned to be alone, but not all alone.

And he wasn't with Lex on Thanksgiving! Shows where his priorities are. He wants to...uh...pull a few blossoms off the fair Mrs. Kent, methinks.

The "Hook 'em" reference was meant for KalLover07. If you notice KalLover07's avatar it is for the Texas Longhorns, whose sporting event catch phrase is "Hook 'em Horns"

It totally had nothing to do with Smallville.

lol chloe sitting next to lionel and giggling. and remember the season four scene in I think it was "crusade" between lional and lois? apparently everyone loves lionel now. In Sneeze, ollie was mean to him, in mercy clark was, like for the whole show chloe has, and lois has stated so many times she didnt like him. so whats up with that?

Well, Lionel saved Chloe, he was willing to die for Martha and keep Clark's secret.
As for Lois, who cares what she thinks anyway ;)

The scene at the Kent house was emotional yet appropriate. It was part of Clark accepting his father's passing and the fact that he is now the man of the Kent household. It was all about resolution and Clark being happy for Ollie's recovery and clearly happy for Nois and Ollie and it hinted at the promise of Clark and Chloe down the road with Clark looking at her, then away and his smile fading slightly when she got the JO message yet he didn't want to bring anyone down. The music in the background underscored his feelings for Chloe as well. It was actually a very adult moment for Clark.

Now as for the Lex at the dinner in the mansion, it made clear what life is like in the Luthor family yet Lana made that bed. She wasted no time at all running to Lex and now she's stuck in that relationship by her own doing and pregnant as well. Her fault and both Clark and Chloe have tried repeatedly to warn her but she's only nasty to them when they do. She asked for everything she's gotten and I have no sympathy for her at all. Too bad for the Pink Princess. It's way past time Lana got her just desserts for all her whiny self-centered behavior. We're just finally seeing long delayed conswequences of her bad actions.

I got the "warm fuzzies", I was thinking of how my family (I too was raised on a farm) used to all get together and have Thanksgiving.
My parents are long gone, and I am the youngest of thier brood (I am 49) #9 out of 9. Those days are long gone, but not forgotten.

I didn't cry, but my mom did. It made me sad but I smiled at the same time. I lost my grandpa last year and he was a big part of my life. So I think that's why it was more emotional for us, because the holiday's are always rough without that certain loved one. I smiled though because I liked Clark's little speech it was cute.

I didn't cry, but I felt bad for Clark as he was the only one alone. Sure, he's done it to himself, but still...

Of course, then they showed the scene with Lana and Lex and the symbolism there just blew me away. I loved the giant table between them, signalling them "growing apart". Just a cool scene.

I didn't cry, but if I was the "crying" type I probably would have. The scene was so sweet. I felt like Clark was really taking over as "man of the house" and feeling like it was really his place and not just to make his dad proud. I do wish that others had shared what they were thankful for. And a previous poster really summed up the moment well, Clark was not in love, but was loved.

I've not been able to spend the holidays since moving abroad a few years ago, and when my expat friends/colleagues and I spend Thanksgiving/Christmas together, it's a pretty sweet occassion, but a little sad as well, as more and more people leave to move back home every year.

I totally understand Lionel's presence at the table, since he has recently been pretty supportive of the Kents.

Sometimes you just realize you're grateful for all that you have, however little or less it may seem compared to what you used to have. People come and go, so you had best enjoy and appreciate the company of the people you care about while you can.

The Kents' Thanksgiving dinner didn't make me cry, but the Luthor mansion one almost did. That scene was just so sad. There they are, two people living under the same roof who are about to have a baby together, yet there is this huge gulf between them, both literally and figuratively.

In sharp contrast to the Kents' warm party, with the candles and the fall motif, the Luthor mansion dinner was simply... cold.
