So apparently, the phantoms take on the personality traits of their hosts. Hmm...this can be cool if done right. So with that in mind, what would be some good personalities, and which ones are probably a bad idea?

Hard to say what would work. It probably depends a lot on which writer is writing the episode.
Since the next 'Zoner' shows up in Seattle (convenient for the Vancouver-based Smallville production), he might be a left-leaning coffee snob or a burly lumberjack.

That's cool, but the whole idea is what you want to see, regardless of what might actually happen. I was thinking a lot of the character types from Dogma would do the job nicely, especially those of Bartleby and Azrael.

ok, don't you people get the point of this? A kryptonian taking on human personalities might be unbearably cheesy. Which ones would prevent that from happening, or at the very least keep it minimal?

Azrael? Don't you mean Loci? I know Azrael is supposed to be the Angel of Death but that wasn't his name in the Kevin Smith movie. (if thats what you're talking about).
Oh and also, maybe that is the reason why when Zod took over Lex's body he wanted to take over the world? Errm, wait a minute...

Loki was the guy who just wanted to go home and seemed drunk towards the end of the movie. Azreal was the one out to get humanity.
