Based on what Clark said tonight, "when the zoners are all gone, I will begin my training", that is an easy way to end the season and series..
Any one else think that.......????
I would hate to see it.....

I see it happening like this. If they have to end this season, then they should wrap up this season's storylines in a storyarc finale 1-2 episodes from the season finale ending with Clark beginning his training. Then have an epilogue episode (or two-parter) however many months or years into the future with him emerging from his training and coming back to Smallville where he would tell his mom what he's going to do, he'd tell Lana his secret, and he'd adapt the Superman persona. This wpuld probably fall more in line with what happened in the movie where Jor-El was responsible for giving Clark his destiny as Superman and the suit.
If they have another season, then the training would probably be a convenient three month training in order to gap the seasons and when Clark comes back he might have a greater knowledge of all things Kryptonian as well as the rest of the "28 known galaxies" but he wouldn't adapt the Superman persona yet because the last season would be about him deciding to take on another identity and formulating the Superman persona. I bet his mom would help him make the suit, like in other versions of the story.

I was hoping that he would end the season with putting all the zoners back and then at the last episode start the training and the there would be 1 more season and he would start to become superman
I agree -
Training - then Superman - I think that they will show Clark and Lois in the final scene

Aren't they signed on for 7 seasons?

Yes...
After the training, there isn't much left to do.

Essentially season four was the equivalent of the short scene in Superman: The movie, where the green crystal calls to Clark and he wakes up in the middle of the night to activate the ship. He follows Jor-el's instructions which lead him to the fortress.
In fact that's actually what sort of happened in Season 2. So if they could stretch THAT for 3 seasons... they can do anything.

It makes sense that the destruction of the last Zoner could mean the end of the series since becoming Superman would mean TW will have to wear the suit and it has long been said the suit will not be worn(although things can change). However, I think a final battle between Clark and the last Zoner would be a great way to end one seasoin and start another.

probably the show is called smallville

I would really feel bad if the show ended the second he leaves for training . Like we never get to see the finished product after clark completes his training. I understand the show is called smallville for a reason.
If I never get to see Tom Wellington as superman, I will always feel cheated, like I put all this time in and never got the payoff. This episode made me really want to watch more and contine clark's path to superman. I don't want it to end. Plus what would the CW do to replace it. The CW channel is struggling and their flagship show is smallville. Thursday nights at normally the highest rated time, except for Monday night football.
All I am saying is don't end the show please.

I think either way it should be good, though of course I'm rooting for season 7.
If we have this season end with Clark going in training and a HUUUGE threat wrecking havoc on Earth, and perhaps getting to see the Justice League (minus Clark) getting whipped by the threat and not being able to do much without a young version of their future leader, it would make a nice opening episode for next season (or actually it would be better if the threat stayed for a few eps before Clark had enough training to return for a bit).
I wouldn't mind a season of a stronger, smarter and focused Clark learning and growing more as he continues his lessons with Jor-El.
I think it makes more sense to have Clark still being able to live a normal life while continuing his training, instead of removing him for X number of years and having him return to Earth (like in the movies).

My thoughts exactly! I'm guessing that Clark finally excepting his training on the show is a plotline to fall back on if/when SV does not get picked back up for next fall. And if they find out that SV has one more season to go, they can use the training at the fortress as a cliffhanger.
You know, when you think about it. SV could have ended right after season 4's finale and everything still would have made sense.

It might end whe he leaves but he will either get out cause Some world threat, or this threat will make him postpone, his training, but being in good terms with Jor el, will help things speed up in the mean time.

Clark destroyed like 2 zoners already right? And there's 2 more? Am I wrong in that assumption?
First Baern, and then the chick in Wither.

^Is it just me or did it look like the Phantoms escaped? Maybe not with Gloria (plant psycho) but... with Baern and Zod it looked like the phantom escaped.

Not Baern I saw him getting soaked into the Crystal, although I had to watch it really carefully several times to figure it out, cause in the open take the phantom looks to be flying away, but then they start closing in to the cristal and you can see the phantom colors going into the cristal.

I hate mommy making his suit. I'd prefer that the suit be crystal generated and actually involve Clark having the ability to shield his entire identity, facially and suit wise. We would still see the normal Clark Kent but it would be understood that his glasses aren't the only disguise. After all, Lois already knows Clark so they can't go that route. This ends all of the silliness of him changing clothes like in the elevator shaft in Superman Returns. Did he have to return to the elevator shaft for his clothes? What does he do with his shoes? Where does he store his boots etc. Just have it be another ability that was given to him in the Fortress and he has some kind of trigger that shields his identity and shows him in the suit and unrecognizable. I consider Superman a poor imitation of Christ. When Christ rose after the resurrection He was able to shield his identity from Mary Magdalene, the Emmaus Road travelers and others and could reveal Himself or hide His identity at will. Does anyone else know that "El" is the Hebrew word for God? Bethel means House of God. Kal El is from the house of El and Jor El has told him that he is not a god but there are parallels. Bryan Singer admitted that he saw Superman in this way and I like to see that done to a degree in Smallville.

Siegle and Shuste (pardon my lack of inacuracy) but one or both of them were Jewish, and jewes sometims use kabalistic or thora references in their books and films, comics, etc., I dont remember about everything but ther is some kabala stuff in Star wars coming from Lucas, so well Im sure the El was not random.
