Error in the Plot?

I remember a few episodes ago that when Lex first started to research the "black box," he asked Lana whether he should destroy it or not and Lana said keep it because it is the only chance to fight any other aliens that end up on earth. Now in this episode it reversed, Lex wants to use it as a weapon and Lana is saying no it too dangerous, although i think she thinks Lex rather sleep with the black box instead of her lol.
