Clark has been shot, had a vine through his chest and died> Raya should have healed almost instantly.....

she's not meant to live past this episode.

She should have been vaporized then.....no other way she would have died.....but I guess she had to have the I sorry I can't share your destiny line speech first.

That was just a vine. And it was through his side, not his heart. And it didn't leave a *fist* sized hole, either...
But yeah, she wasn't meant to survive- they want to play up the whole loner thing... that seems to be the theme this year.
And as far as vaporization being the only way she would have died, that's very wrong... look at superman vs doomsday for an example...

Yeah, I thought she was gonna' crisp away, but atleast the writers gave her that much strength.

Yes I also think her dieing so soon was kinda dumb. Clark has had far worse happen and survived. Her body should have healed instantly.

yeah true
but some people can get shot 5 times and not die and some people can get shot just once and die.
I think Raya sacrificed herself to repair the FOS,
where the Kryptonians seem to live as immortals or ghost anyway.
We just might see her again as a spirit in the FOS.

Clark hasn't ever been power sucked by a phantom that leaves only ash behind that's masquerading as a human before, so it's tough to say if Clark has indeed survived worse physical trauma.

This is true, and that was not a power suck, as you put it, I would say a focused expenditure of radiation. As he fed off radiation and was said to be drained after the first conflict with Clark and Raya.
Though, you are correct that Clark may not have ever experienced such a trama, though Clark has been almost killed so many times and survived I lost count. Just an observation that Kryptonians can be hard to kill.

Well since Bearn turned Bow Wow's freind into ash just like he did the black box, I assumed that he somehow sucked whatever little radiation he had out of his body. So then that's what he did to Raya in the fotress. Baern couldn't do that to Clark or Raya in the barn because he wasn't strong enough to feed off of a kryptonian until AFTER he power sucked the black box.

Just assume it's magic and that Kryptonians are vulnerable to it. Plot hole solved!

I don't agree, they showed Raya had a whole in her chest and it was ash like as if part of her was destroyed, much to much to heal itself. That is how I saw it. It would have happened to Clark too if it wasn't for the crystal saving him. She was a sitting duck, so to speak, had nothing to defend herself with.

What pisses me off is that these people can run at like 1000 miles an hour, but they can't get out the way. Very ridiculous.

LOL, I know. If they can convincingly run that fast and are able to dogde their surroundings fast enough to not hurt anyone... they the should be able to dodge an attacker moving and normal speed pretty damn fast.

I agree they showed a hole in her chest, and since clark didn't get hit we dont kno if he could have survived also. But it was her time to go,she served her purposes by leadin clark down the right path.

Agreed, that it was her purpose. And it wouldn't be the same story if it was Superman and Raya.
As for the speed thing, Bearn had the same ability, so he could adjust to Raya's movement, which she did move, but was hurt to quickly.
And seeing that Bearn could have pursued killing Clark, Raya might not have expected him to turn on her so quickly. Bottom line, is that I think Raya knew she had no defense and probably felt that her presence was more for Clark even if she sacrificed herself.

I think Raya voluntarily put herself into the line of fire to protect Clark. She probably moved at 1000 miles an hour to get in front of Clark and block Baern's radiation beams.
she clearly said them moment baern gets power from the kryptonian battery thingy, he will have more radioactive powers, enough to kill both of them, her and clark. the only way to kill him would be through the house of el crystal. she didnt have it, she died, clark had it, he overpowered and killed. whats there not to understand? the only flaw in the epidosde is the fact the freakin world had a compelte blackout and massive earthquakes happening all around and they show bow wow playign ball? :S now thats messed.

isnt radiation as fast as light?
Clark managed to grab the crystal, get up and activate it before baerns radiation got to him.raya should have easy moved away.

But what I find disturbing is that the phantom is on the same par as Doomsday. Killing a super kryptonian.
if it was meant to kill her they should have made the beam larger and fly to outer space. Then again this aint dragon ball :D
