This episode was Horrid and the next episode can't help but be better. The writers are trying to cram in too much. First Green Arrow, now Lois has a hunch for everything and Raya will be back on the scene next week. Iam looking forward to Raya's return but another week with one scene between Lex and Clark. Last week no scene, the week before that 1 scene. They only talk about Lana in passing, they are turning into enemies and this is an important arc in the story. Please give us more scenes and confontation between these two!!

i really liked this episode. and i don't see much of a point for lex and clark to still hang with each other in the same sceenes they're enimies now after all.

What Clark needs to do is get his sh*t together and move on. Seriously, was it neccesary to go to the hospital to see Lana. He damn well knows Lex will be there, so he went anyways and had a pissy contest with him about her...Agh...Enough, CK!

Of course they should share the same scenes, more confrontation is a good thing between those two. Whenever there in a scene together now you can feel the tension.

That's the only thing that bothered me this episode. Yet again, we get another Clark/Lex scene having to do with Lana. This is no surprise, I guess. We'll be seeing this type of stuff right up until the end of the series, I suppose.

I'm sure they would be best friends again if Lana left both of them forever. They blame the other for hurting her. Lex doesn't see it as they are doing the same thing to her.

True I was thinkin the same,I felt there was no need for him to show at the hospital.I mean did he really think he was goin to talk wit her  ,clark did a few things this episode that I thought was unnecessary but o well. Its jus tptb slipups that we r use to,but I am glad he didn't get to talk wit lana.Their last few convos haven't been worth hearin, they need as much time apart as possible

of course cause tptb want us to believe that they hate for each other comes over lana lang, and nothin else which is sad.Cause they could have lex do so much evil for them to fallout over yet lana is the main issue between them smh.I'm actually startin to hate seein clex onscreen jus as much as clana lately, cause its the same argument over and over

Yep, they hit rock bottom in Zod, no wait Wither, no wait Arrow, no wait Reunion. How many more threads can we have where one person who didn't like the episode tries to make it seem like the episode was just the worst episode ever rather than it just not being to their tastes?

Do people ever stop complaining? Every episode in smallville this season is horrible according to some people....I thinks it's been a damn good season so far. The only so-so episode has been sneeze.

The only crapper was Sneeze. The others have been quite good. Granted, I am happy that the next ep seems to be getting back into mythos, which is what i liked about S5

Wither was the only episode that I did not like. It was too focused on relationships, but it certainly wasn't a terrible episode like a Spell or a Thirst.

It's fair to say that Clark is still concerned about Lana, and that's why he showed up at the hospital. It's also clear now that the Lex-Clark rivalry will continue to be fueled by Lana. Lana is a basic source of angst for Clark, so she is not going anywhere.

Clark's meeting with other future superheroes may seem lame to some, but it's a dramatic way of getting Clark to stop moping around and move toward becoming Superman. He could do this on his own, but it's better TV to have other people involved. I think Chloe will make him a suit and then tell him to put it on already. How would that be for the series finale?

I liked the first three episodes, the last two have been RUBBISH and the ratings agree with me!!

you cant blame the writers on the prodection of the show.. they just write the episdoe..how it happens and what happens is up to the producer plus Steven de knight did this! i thoguht the dialouge was AWESOME! a hella lot better than wither and sneeze...

This was actually a better than average Smallville ep. It had some interesting psychological backstory that helps explain why Lex and Ollie are the way they are and how the relationship between them developed. Green Arrow is turning into a fairly complex character. This episode was much better than some boring stuff about stupid Clark getting his super fart power or moping about Lana.

Plus, it was awesome seeing Clark investigating on his own without running to Chloe.

It's great he's spreading his wings. It was good for their Halloween epiosde.

I think it was more of an excuse to have a Clark Lex face off, than Clark not having moved on

I think the drop in ratings had more to do with how bad the episodes before were. Why'd people tune in for "Wither"? Because it was advertised as a Lois/Oliver/Clark episode. And what did they get? A horribly written FotW, SuperChloe episode. The majority of fans hated "Whither" and I think "Arrow" suffered because of it.

And "Arrow" was considered to be one of the best (if not the best) episodes of this new season by most fans & critics. Ratings aren't always an indicator of success & "Arrow" was a successful ep in things that matter -- like critical reviews and audience appeal. It'll probably be the same with this ep. Less Chloe may = less ratings. But Less Chloe also = better episode.

I definitely thought it was random -- especially because she had a frakkin' hole in her hand at the end of "Zod" and he didn't try to see her. Why the sudden concern now? And Lex was right -- she'd landed in the hospital dozens of times when she was with Clark (and Whitney, Jason, Adam, etc...). The hospital visit was nothing out of the ordinary in Lana's life.

And I didn't really see Clark pining over her -- more like concerned & guilty that he'd pushed Lana into this life with Lex. I'm with Lois on this one, though -- Lana made that "questionable" decision and he needs to stop beating himself up over it.

Thats exactly my point, that the caring for Lana would be nonsensical at this point so Im guessing it was intended more as to show Lex/Clark rivalry than to show Clark still has feelings for Lana, IMO he has finaly move on, or is well on his way.

And to the original post in this thread, Im really looking forward next episode, the ad looks really cool, and just cause of ratings are low dont mean things have hit rock bottom, actually its the best line of episodes I have seen since season 1, I liked the first 4 in the 4th season, but this ones have been better, finally Clark is coming to terms with who he is and what he could acomplish, and finaly moved on from Lana, I like that he is single and I like the introduction of GA, I was reluctant but eventually got around it cause at least his words had an effect on our BDA. For the first time in a long time Im seeing hints of Superman that are not just the writers throwing anvils, but actually Clark heading in that direction. But I guess there is a large fandom that watch the show for the ships (especially the ones involving Clark) so I get that people are not liking this season, cause they arent getting enough Clark romance drama, I on the other hand, im blissfullly enjoying development in who is suposed to be the worlds greatest champion.

I wouldnt be unhappy with a visit to the morgue for ms. lang at this point, rather than the hospital...
