does anyone know how long smallville has aired in HD? I've been getting it that way for the last two years, but I think it's been aired HD for at least 3 maybe 4 years. was the first season the only season not aired in high def? thanks for the help.

i think maybe since the middle of season 3 cause thats around the time HD came out.

The WB started broadcasting in HD since Season 2, however affiliate adoption of HD equipment was scattered and depending on your market, you got to see it sooner or later.
However, since Smallville is shot on film, the chances of an HD DVD set of Season 1 are very good in the future :).

o. i just knew that hd was starting to be a big thing and people started making a big deal about tv shows and stuff around mid season 3

Yup, HD adoption rates are different in different markets. Especially since the then WB Networks weren't as big as ABC, CBS, NBC affiliates, the cost of upgrading their equipment was harder to justify.
There's even a bigger hitch in the distribution of HD if you subscribe by CableTV or Satellite since those companies also have to upgrade their equipment and sign new agreements to carry the HD signal.
