The Green Arrow character has a lot of potential.
But there are some basic questions I have about his background, like why exactly does he choose to fight crime? How did he get so good at archery? I hope to see these questions answered.

Smallville likes to change things up, but Oliver Queen the Green Arrow was actually created more than 60 years ago. Ollie was a billionaire, but lost his fortune and decided to fight crime while representing the poor people of his city as the modern "Robin Hood" of that time. Oliver Queen actually died in comic mythos (and then later resurrected) and his protege Conner Hawke took on the legendary role of the Green Arrow.
As for how learned the bow, early versions of comics has it that when he was a wealthy boy he had been washed up on a island and honed his archery while trying to survive alone.

Also Green Arrow's "origin" is cool.
When he was a boy he went on a cruise or something with his parents(like it showed in Arrow) and the ship eventually sank for some reason whether crash, malfunction, etc. And he was the only survivor and he made it to an island and his survival instincts kicked in and he practiced archery since he found some arrows or something.
Then he eventually was found and came back and inherited his parents billions and so he decided to use his money to help the poor and also fight crime.

GA is a much cooler character than I anticipated.
