We didn't miss a minute, they actually rewound the tape and replayed the first scene in its entirety.

I got the KTLA CW pink screen myself and later during the last scene the screen went black for a couple seconds.

The screen went black after Oliver showed Clark the newspaper of his parents and then turned on again after about 2 seconds.

Even worse, I was away from home tonight and my wife set the recorder timer.
We recorded only three minutes of the episode. :(
It was like this, Lionel says to Martha, "Lets go meet the moneybags".... Poof, Grey's Anatomy started.
WWAHHHHHHHH!!
On the upside, I just bought me a brand spankin' new laptop.
Woo-Hoo!

In Sacramento, CA my TV screen went blank at 8:00 and it lasted for about 45 secs. Then it suddenly came on in the middle of the teaser. :\

I missed the first min. in LA. Oh well, don't think anything too important happened at the dinner- or at least I hope so.

It seems that the ktla cw aren't really paying attention to broadcasting Smallville. So far, Smallville is the highest rated show on the cw so don't screw up the ratings by glitching the episode.
The new network comes with it new flaws.

Yeah, I got the same glitch when watching KTLA. I was afraid that it was going to stay like that for the entire episode( thank God, it didn't).

Craig,
It was weird because there was the pink logo, and then the episode opened with Oliver asking Lois if she wanted a drink. Then it cut to Lionel clinking the glass. Then out of nowhere it cuts to Oliver and Lois walking over to that couple where she insulted the guy about the indictment hearings. Then it showed the exact same scene of Oliver asking Lois if she wanted a drink and going to Lionel. Someone on the cutting floor messed up with the editing.

I taped on my super-old VCR.
For a minute I thought: OK, now the old thing died on me.
I have never been closer to a heart attack, I can tell you...

I know this is a dumb question, if your network did not broadcast the first minute.... How would you know?
How would you know if you missed any of the show?
Or How would I know if my network did it too.

Yeah, I saw that glitch too, but they went back and aired the whole thing. They better not mess up next week.

I'm pretty sure that this problem has never happened on airing Smallville before.
At least KTLA will reair this episode on Sunday. Hopefully they get it right.

Our KOCB in OKC was the top-rated WB station and has been doing a fine job as a CW station. :D
I've still got the Tivo set to start recording 1 minute early and stop two minutes late. Now the show seems to start a bit later on the CW, will have to time it and see.

Seems like the only part you got was the part we have cut from our airing of Smallville. Those of us in LA didn't get that line in our showing. I wondered about it too, since their wasn't any type of intro to the Martha and Lionel get-together.
Thanks for confirming what I had suspected, that we did indeed lose some of our Smallville episode, here in LA. I hope this is all taken care of on Sunday's showing. Maybe it was their way of making sure we would tune in on Sunday...
