When Clark and Olliver shook hands, the camera focused in on a banner in the background. Was that foreshadowing or alluding to anything?

It's the crest that was engraved inside the ring that Lois found, that Chloe photographed. That's why Clark raced back to Ollie's place because it was hanging at his penthouse.

Yeah, I got that. But thanks, everyone probably didn't pick up on that. I've learned a lesson though, dont start a thread until the episode is over....you never know when your question will be answered in the show later on.

i didn't think it was very good for ollie to have that banner just sitting there where everybody could see the green arrows on it. not that hard to put 2 and 2 together.
