Even though I havent worn a costume in sum time-or trick or treated in a much longer time-Halloween is still cool.Looks like POTC beat Superman again lol;

'Keeping with the tradition of blockbuster movies dictating the year's most popular Halloween costumes, Captain Jack led the annual poll for the most popular men and boy's costume, just ahead of Superman and Darth Vader - the survey favorite last year'

I was Superman once -with a very cheap homemade costume lol.
Now Costumes are big business even for pets.Plus I like some of the Halloween shows like 'Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' and 'The Halloween Tree'-a very good animated film with Leonard Nimoy and 'The Nightmare before Christmas'.So any1 dressing up?Any1 still Trick or Treat?

A few years back, I went to a halloween party dressed as Clark Kent (with the glasses, the suit, and the Superman T-Shirt).

This year, I will be dressing up as Jor-El, to honour the role played by Marlon Brando. It was simple to make actually. I bought the Superman Returns \S/ from a toy Superman Costume (with an S, a little cap and a plastic chain). I painted the S with liquid paper and a black marker. Then, I bought a black robe, and some white hair colour. I crazy glued the S on the robe, and I will be Jor-El.

I was Clark Kent last year. I had the glasses and the hat and suit with the shirt unbuttoned and the S-shield underneath.

I like the Jor-El idea. Cool stuff. Although I don't know if I would want to paint my hair white. Still cool though.

This year I'm being Marty McFly from Back to the Future II. I'm using the "future" outfit he wears. I bought the lenticular (color changing) hat off ebay. I have an old gray cargo jacket than I'm using fabric paint to make it partially red like the self-drying jacket. I'm printing out the cover to Grey's Sports Almanac and putting it on a real sports Almanac. I'm wearing stone-washed tight jeans with some real old white big-tongued shoes.

And lastly and most important for immediate costume recognition: the hoverboard. For that I bought a cheap skateboard from KB Toys and spray-painted it hot pink and then used some neon duct tape for the designs. I then glued two mattel logos on it and glued to sliver stove pans on the bottom for the hover magnets.

It all turned out surprisingly well. This is the first year I've actually really made most of the costume. In previous years I did Clark, Indiana Jones and Neo. All those outfits didn't require anything added.

P.S. : I love when chicks where Supergirl outfits. Best. Costumes. Ever.

Well, after being Jor-El for a day, and having to explain to everyone what I was really ... I have to say that it was a fun costume to wear ... and I will keep it for the future.

However, that white hair colour was disgusting ... and I was happy to take it out.

I was reading abit about Halloween and found this old legend.

'If you wear your clothes inside out and walk backwards at midnight on Halloween you will be visited by a witch that night'

Thats...creepy-would anyone do this-if so let me know what happens lol.

:rotfl: I might do that. :rotfl: but most likely I'll be going with a bunch of friends trick or treating (screw it, I want candy) and visiting haunted houses.

You will look silly and potentially trip over yourself.

The last costume I wore was like 12 yrs ago, I was peter pan, complete with boots, green tights and t shirt with the little triangle edges cut out...never made it to the party though, girlfriend and I ended up in a parking lot...guess she liked the tights...;)

'Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown'-a real Halloween classic-imo-of course-is on tuesday night at 8.This is one of those shows Ive probably seen over 20 times.I love the music in this 1 and the Christmas show.Charlie Brown actually gets invited to a party-but gets nothing but rocks while trick or treating lol-an interesting dichotomy to say the least lol.And of course Linus still waiting for the great pumpkin.Somehow this show always reminds me of Halloween as a kid.

There was a Charlie Brown TV show in the early 90s. It was kind of like Schoolhouse Rocks-- with them studying history, like reciting the Gettysburg Address, or stuff like exploring the galaxy.

Fergie did the voice of Peppermint Patty. Yes, as in "Fergalicious" Fergie. It was her first job in Hollywood.

Last year for a costume, I took an old set of green hospital scrubs, wrote "Dangerous Mental Patient" across the back, and shaved all the hair off of my face and head and darkened around my eyes.
Kinda looked somewhat like Uncle Fester.

Nice!Fester was my favorite Adams lol

Fergie was Peppermint Patty? That would have been interesting to see.I dont think Ive ever seen any Peanuts shows besides the Holiday specials.

Yeh 'Halloween Tree' is a very good film.It was wriiten by Ray Bradbury-a classic SF writer who also did the 'Martian Chronicals'
Havent seen it in years-wonder why they stopped showing it?

Well, for anyone who wants to see, here is me as Jor-El. I wore the suit at work today, only to notice that all my other co-workers were to cheap to wear a costume.

Actually, in this picture, I am wear my naval combat uniform under the costume. I was OOD (officer of the day) at HMCS QUÉBEC and still had to remain in uniform.

My daughter s passing out the candy this year, she is all dressed up like a witch, and I painted her face with florescent paint, and she used invisible ink (like the stuff they stamp your hand with at a club) to paint decorations.
I put several very strong black lights out there on the porch, and it is glowing real well :D

Well It that time of year again So instead of creating a new thread to talk about what we are dressing up as this year I figured I'd just bump this one.

----- Added 2 Minutes later -----

After work tommorow night I'll change my avi to a picture of me in my costume. The costume won't be complete till after I dye my hair though I did just print off my press pass.

This was the 1st year since 1996 that I was out of town on halloween. From 1997-2007 I handed out the candy at my house. I dressed up like WWE wrestler "The Undertaker". I have a big black hat and long black coat like he has..That outfit actually scared a few of the really little kids..
