I had a fear of heights - went skydiving and took care of that, still have the fear, but under control.

I have a fear of bad writing, but Smallville is helping me overcome that ;)

i don't think that counts as a real fear for most people, seeing as there isn't muhc leprosy in the world much any more, 'cept for places like africa and such.

i have a really weird fear, i'm scared of climbing trees. i can climb trees, but i hate doing so. but i can climb up other stuff, like i can climb up those walls you climb on to practice rock climbing. i thought i had fears of hights, but after that climb, i figured its just the trees. :\:p

I always thought a true phobia was an irrational fear of something, not just a fear. Like someone scared of heights might feel uncomfortable in an elevator, but a true phobic would almost have to be sedated to get in, or perhaps would walk up the 43 floors, or maybe not even get in a building that tall. The mere mention of something to do with heights would cause their skin to crawl.

Aviophobia or Aviatophobia- Fear of flying.
Aeroacrophobia- Fear of open high places.

The strange this is that I don't have Acrophobia (Fear of heights) as long as I'm in a building or something. But if there's any chance of me falling, then I get scared.

i definitly have acrophobia. just looking at tall buildings freaks me out.

about 4 years ago i went to a summer camp, and they made us climb "the pamper pole" which was a pole that was a bit taller than a telephone pole. Me being afraid of heights begged and pleaded not to have to climb it, but my leader made me do it any ways. Long story short, I sat at the top for like 10 minutes and cried. It was really traumatizing and embarrassing.
