well Desrie was jsut a freak helen was someone he actually had a relationship with and had an arc. I'm actually surprised no one made this thread. I was watching it this morning cuz i went to a ranger game last night and the minute i heard that line i thought "There's a thread"

I was thinking the exact same thing. I always thought they were going to bring her back at some point in time, but I guess she went the way of Pete Ross and all the other forgotten characters.

Yeah i hope that lex is really lying and that the writers didnt just forget cuz i caught that instantly. You would think Lana would know that helen moved in with Lex.

This stuff happens all the time on Smallville, because the writers don't watch the show! We know the details much better than they do, but the fact that Helen was INVITED and DID move in with Lex, and that they were married wasn't just a minor deatail it was a HUGE story line. Big mistakes like this make me wonder if the actors and crew don't watch the show either. You'd think someone would say, "Wait a minute, what about Helen?"
GEEZ!!!!!!!!!! I'm so tired of being treated like an idiot by the writers.

This has to be the first time where I believe every Smallville viewer had to be thinking the same thing. She moved in about 3 years ago. Hell, Lana was even invited to the wedding! In fact, I'm sure Helen and Lana even had a couple of conversations together.

I think the essence of the line was true. Lana was referring to all the girls that Lex f-ed and left. Helen is a different breed of relationship compared to all Lex's others exploits. He married Helen. I'd say if Lana is looking to get serious she would want to be in Helen's league as someone that moved in. So Lex meant that none of those other one time girls moved in.

Yeah. I usually defend these inconsistencies and find some loop hole. But even I was like "yeah you did" pretty much out loud. There's no way around this one.

Yeah, even I spotted that one, but I just kind of smacked my forehead and went on. After all, you can't really call it a plot hole since Lex has lied to Lana before (and notice he hasn't told her anything about the black box, so he's doing it even after saying he never would.)

I am hoping that Lex was lying and not the writers messing up. But if he lied wouldn't he be concerned Lana could call him on it? I believe there was a conversation with Helen and Lana regarding trust in relationships. The topic could have came up then. Forgot but I think it might have been when Helen just moved in with Lex and was having trust issues of her own. Not sure, its been awhile since I have seen that season.

I think that it has more to do with TPTB screwing up the continuity rather than Lex lying. You cannot tell me that Lana had no idea that Helen was living with Lex before she married him.
i love u tom

there was no way that lex meant to lie. lana was INVITED to the wedding with everyone else. unless he used one of his many genius plans and figured out 'hey, lanas a dunce, she wouldnt say WHAT ABOUT HELEN, so lets just go with that and make pinky here feel special!' the TPTB are all to blame for this. im starting to get tired of them underestimating us...

The writers blew it again. I remember in season 2 it was said that Chloe lost her mum at the age of 5 then in Tomb she sad that her mum left when she was 12. It would be good if they read what they wrote.

yep, as soon as Lex said that, I immediately thought: what about Helen?
Wasn't there even a whole issue about helen getting a skeleton key to the whole mansion except for one room (the room that contained Lex's shrine to Clark).
plus didn't victoria hardwick (yech) shack up with lex for a while?

And people are surprised there's yet another plot inconsistency? :) Helen, we never knew ye.

Plot hole! Or another one of Lex's lies.
The funniest thing is that according to what she said in Sneeze he didn’t ask her to move in but he offered her a room because she said she didn’t have anywhere to stay.
Lex: You know, for someone about to change addresses, you're traveling pretty light.
Lana: Yeah, well, I don't need a lot. It's only temporary. They think the school should reopen by next semester. It was nice of you to offer me a room at the mansion. I don't know what I would have done. Lex, if you're not okay with this and having second thoughts, then let's talk.

Helen who? LOL.
Don't forget about Victoria.... even though she stayed with him for 'family business' she stilled bathed in his mansion, stayed in the guess room, roamed around and made-out with Lex in front of his dad, and who knows what when his dad isn't there.

I actually think he was lying. He wanted to make Lana feel "special", so he gave her something that he pretended that he hadnt given anyone else before.
If anyone else had said it, I would agree that it was a plot hole, but considering it came from Lex, I have no doubts.
Its all a part of Lex's manipulative mind.

Seriously, sometimes it's like TPTB on SV have been hit one too many times on the head like Lex, ya know?

Avidreader, you are dead right. It was another one of Lex's manipulations. He's had at least 3 women living there and had 2 weddings, and Lana was invited and attended both. This was not about TPTB messing up. Lex just wanted to make her feel special and he did it again, by telling her he's not going to give her the line she'd expect because she's not like the others.
