View Full Version : So Sad for CK Right now..
The Ship!

I really feel like the episode was interesting eventhough it was soo less about Clark. We barely seen him anymore dealing with Life stuff. When we see him he is either investigating with Chloe or just lamenting about Lana to his mom. Now he is just feeling weird about even Chloe kissing him and now apparently in a new relationship.
I feel so sad for Kal el. He really works so hard but it is like Happiness and indulgence he will trully never have. Gosh i know he is Kryptonian.....but he needs a life too. Right now we do not see him enough, he gets beat up by bad guys and now girls .....really sad to see him in this weak position.
Come On! This is the Future Superman, he should be learning the world, visiting new places on his own!! Just you know expanding his TRUE VIEW OF THE WORLD. I still do not feel that the show has shown true growth in Kal El, expect that he is still grieving (even more than his mom) about his losses. I mean Martha was at the Ball having a blast when her son was in danger.....
It was like the writers wanted to show that Life goes on even without Clark, no one cares.... I mean if it wasn't for Chloe I am not sure he would have survived!! That is scary.
I know he didn't want to hurt the plant woman(I didn't like the fact that they didn't make her a bit more reasonable and killed her so easily in what was the shortest fight!!!!!!!!!!).
ANyway, the last image of the show EXACTLY MAKES MY POINT: WHICH IS THAT CLARK IS STILL STUCK WHERE HE STARTED, EVERYONE HAS MOVED ON, HE IS STILL STUCK IN SMALLVILLE, IN A SMALL WORLD, HIS SMALL WORLD.
I REALLY HOPE THE WRITERS WILL GIVE HIM A LIFE THAT ISN'T DETERMINED BY BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP. SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT PASSION DOES HE HAVE? WHAT DOES HE LIKE?? BESIDE LANA, IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE RIGHT NOW WE SEE HIM SO PATIONATE ABOUT (BESIDE HELPING OTHERS WHICH HE DOES OUT OF GUILT).
VERY GOOD QUESTION

A lot of people seem to feel the same way as you, but I feel that the writers have gone the right way. Clark Kent and Superman are very different people. Just watch Superman Returns. Clark is very quiet and softspoken, and is only confident when in his tights. Since Clark in Smallville doesn't have the tights yet, he is still more or less of a loser with no life. Personally, I thought that they made a huge mistake in season four by protraying Clark as the football stud. I mean, yeah, it was nice to see, but Clark is supposed to kind of invisible. Thats why all is has to do as Superman is take off the glasses and change his clothes.

I gotta say that this is very sad indeed. I mean does he only matter as or when he is SUperman?
Why not make a real difference by being you all the time...?
I know you what you are saying but i feel like the writers are letting us down by pretty much not showing us any glance in his personal evolution. That is where my problem with the show lies.

the problem with the show is that the creators have theirs heads so far up the ass of KK that they've decided to ruin the best superman show to date. clark and lana wasn't going to work, that's a given. DC wrote it that way, it's set in stone. clark doesn't wear glasses on the show, he isn't geeky, and they really don't make him seem too intelligent or ambitious. the very same thing could be said about lois so far, i mean, am i really supposed to believe these 2 are going to end up being the best 2 writers at the greatest newspaper in the world?? the show is ridiculously out of control. tptb have turned SMALLVILLE into superman without flying, set in 2 places, with lame villains, and a slutty ex-girlfriend.

Yeah it be more interesting if smallville clark was was doing what young comic clark was doing after highschool exploring the world around him.
But I did feel bad for clark.

i think that at this point it makes sense for Clark to be alone and feel disconnected. they have story they are going with and it's only the third episode. It takes some time to get into things. It seems like people expect them to be where they probably will be in the second half of the season already. I think Clark will deal with all this stuff and move past it and start to be more proactive. I thik thats the whole point of all this. It's like going from A to Z and they are point C or D, when Clark doing all the stuff people have been saying they want him to do is like being at R in the alphabet. They have to show the journey not just where it ends up. Isn't that the whole point of the show in the first place. ALl this stuff is suppose to make us feel bad for him. I think all this will push him to move foward. Martha was talking about how all of the stuff that has happened has changed him and will shape who he is. I think that is just a small indication that he is were is but things will change.

These are great!!! Now why can't the show do something like this??????? It seems easy and very intriguing enough. Almost like seing things through the Eyes of Clark , i love the way they develop his thoughts and actions, almost like they include us in his Journey.
Very well done!!!!!!!

I am not so sure about that. I think that introducing Zod, bringing in Vampires, and the addition on Lois, even Brainiac was a bit too much. And the way the show now tend to force us to really care about LEX's relationship with Lana is pretty pathetic. There are more scenes with these two then there are of the Young SUperman.
Bottom line is i will not believe that Superman development was due to his break up with Lana, and his lost friendship with Lex. Come on people wake up. I realize they are trying to get a Dawson's Creek type show..but it is not working. Forget all this crap about lex and lana, it matters not about the fact that right now...Clark could be growing, and not whine at every single opportunity. His mom isn't helping either, and now Chloe is left to baby seat for him. That part is very strange.
Also what is up with the introduction in Metropolis and in Smallville of all these future Justice Leaguers?? Is there not enough meterial to write around Clark?? I have no idea what is going on in CK's mind, we do not know him, we're do not even see things through his eyes....His refusal to growth after all he has gone through is mesmerizing. I really am not sure if he will ever change.
One thing is for sure, the more time passes the worst writers we have. I kinda feel like maybe they never should have messed with the franchise, Movie was a bomb, and the other shows just were awful. This is not unlike Star wars. I sure hope they do not mess with Indiana Jones.
The only Super hero that has gotten better with time is BATMAN.
