Homage to Superman III

I got the distinct impression that there was (what I believe) a homage to the Superman III movie in this episode. When the vines are being wrapped around Clark's neck and he grabs them to prevent choking, it looked like a similar scene from Superman III where the supercomputer in the cave wraps the wires firmly around Superman's neck and he tries to be prevented from choking. At that time, Superman needed the actor played by Richard Pryor ("Gus") to deactivate the supercomputer to save his life.

Anyone share a similar feeling? Sorry I don't have a screen image for my account yet, as this is my first forum posting!

I see where your going with this and yes i understand the grabbing the vines to not choke thing, but i think most people would grab whatever it is and try to stop them from choking them. So no i dont see any homage here.
