he did hit the can. it showed right after lois went inside and showed the part of the can that you pull upwards to pop the can open. the arrow went right through that and was spinning around on the arrow.

Ollie isn't a bad guy from what I've seen so far. He did ask to kiss her instead of just doing it and he decided to wait it out so that it'll be better when he finally does.

It would be too easy to hookup with her. So he "missed" on purpose, even though technically he hit the can since the top part is part of the can. But he didnt want the kiss to be part of a bet i am guessing, so prolonging it and going to maybe find another way. I guess ideally insteading of winning a kiss, he wants her to kiss him because she wants to and not because of some prize for winning.

He missed on purpose cause he is not a complete and total A-Hole as every one thinks he is. It is all an act for a more noble calling. He could have hit the can, made it jump and shot an arrow through it before Lois knew what was up. And yes, he is playing the game, but I don't think hooking up with Lois is the reason he is in Metropolis. He has some bigger fish to fry and it has to do with being a good guy.

That being said, I think he's gonna be a fun one to watch!

I like the way TPTB are playing this so far, Ollie was waiting for the opportune moment to kiss her, when he'd truly swept her off her feet...she obviously objected the first time he tried, so he doesn't just want to get a kiss from managing to hit the can. Lois would have thought he just got lucky anyway. But I really love that look on his face as you the tab on the arrow, you can tell he knows what he's doing.
