And on that note, I disagree w/ Altephor that it's it useless or ruins it when they hurt Clark or make it appear that he's mortally wounded. Yeah we know he's going to live, but it still grabs us when sometining like that happens, and is sometimes just symbolic, as mentioned above, compares him to Christ (the "Saviour") the "sacrifices he has to make" being who he is. :)

I think she only save him about 4 times throughout smallville history, but it does seems he forget how to use his superpowers in the show sometimes.
