Was it just me or did it seem too sarcastic and scripted. Just didnt seem like a natural conversation. Seemed like two actors trying real hard to be mysterious....what're your thoughts?

It was awful, but that was mainly due to JH's stiff and wooden acting. It was laughable the way that Ollie was trying to intimidate Lionel, as if he could go against the great MB and live to tell the tale. I hope Lionel gives him the smackdown, I hated to see the way he was towering over Lionel and the smirky look on his face, as if he could really scare Lionel.

JH reminded me a lot of MR in that scene.

I thought JH did good. At first I thought he seemed stiff, but upon rewatching it via DVR, he seemed like he was just that way because he could be. Because he thought he was hot stuff. Because he thought he was young and could take on an older businessman like Lionel. But he was wrong. Did you see that unmistakable look of fear in his eyes after Lionel threatened him? That was fantastic. I was rooting for Lionel, even though he may be bad now. I still think it was cool to see him defending Lex like that, and to see some shades of the MB returning. Great stuff!

I agree. It came off as bland and kind of like the Anakin/Obi-Wan dialogue (right before the Mustafar battle) in Star Wars III.
It just did not seem natural, which is disappointing because I expected more of Hartley.

i like it, I saw an animosity between Ollie and Lionel. I think JH was playing Ollie like Ollie was trying to play a role in front of Lionel to cover his wariness of Lionel. I think Ollie looks at Lionel like Clark used to, like an enemy and you could tell he had animosity towards Lionel. Some say he was wooden or something I didn't think. I saw JH as playing Ollie as being Sarcastic towards Lionel. That comes off as aloof. He's not suppose to be happy to see him and, he isn't suppose to be outwardly angery towards him. JHhad to play it like Ollie had to try to stay under the radar at first, while at the same being sarcastic and against Lionel. I don't know what people want. He was acting like he didn't like Lionel but was trying to play the role of billionare and not GA.
I liked it I thought it was a cool way of first showing him. Coming out of the shadows and then verbally sparing with Lionel like he used to with Lex. That and scene at the end give you just enough time to get a little glimpse of you he is and what he is about, so it will make it better when we see him next week. He won't just be there all of a sudden. I saw the clip with Lois on the cw site I thought it was pretty funny.

I liked it. He didn't play along with Lionel at all. I was suprised that he would make that choice. That he wouldn't pretend to be amiable at all. It seemed like his subtext was... "So what do you REALLY want you snake." LOL!
Lionel on the other hand was all honey... until he got to the heart of the matter... which was Lex' kidnapping.
Great scene. IMO. :) I loved his reaction to the news that Lex was abducted... and I loved him looming over Lionel. Shocking!

I thought Lionel had to carry Mr. Queen thru the whole scene

I liked JH's acting. See nothing wrong with it. Off course he cannot match John Glover no way, but given that his first scene on the show was with none other than Mr. Glover, he didn't do that bad..
I think he'll fit in as the gray, mysterious kind of hero..
By the way, I loved the dialogues and the execution of the scene..
Looking forward to seeing more of JH..
