Has the senator storyarc was dropped? The reason I ask is because it seems like it would be hard for Martha to run a farm fulltime and be senator. Also, how would Lois be able to take a job at the Inquisitor if she was acting as Martha's COS?You would think that would be a fulltime job.

So with Lois SUDDENLY becoming a reporter for the Inquistor, and Martha constantly dealing with the farm, was the senator arc dropped?

Being a state senator here in Kansas is NOT a full time job as it would be as a US Senator

But you would at least think that if they kept the storyline going, Lois wouldn't be able to start as a reporter at the Inquisitor if she was Martha's COS.

Lois probably just didn't think to mention it to the people at the Inquisitor. And frankly, they are of such dubious moral character, I don't think they'd care.

I also thought that article was just a freelance thing, since she didn't mention any other assignments.

well martha may still be senator just that she isnt senator until the other senators term is over. cause they have elections before the other ones term is over so the new one can learn and get read to do whatever i think. and lois working for the paper i think she just started that cause of the whole barn door flying across the town was so intresting to her that she wanted to tell people about it. she probably wasnt even thinking about working with martha.

I actually thought that with the Dark Thursday chaos, that maybe local governments focused on that and took time off from regular stuff. Even the schools were closed til the fall.

I just don't think Martha is done with it, but maybe Lois will be.

During the episode Lois mentioned dropping off documents for Martha so it seems as though Martha is still a senator and Lois is still her chief of staff (for now anyway)

And in a Smallville way, Lois is gonna take the job at the Inquisitor and nobody are gonna ask anything about her nomore COS job...

I doubt it would be dropped. I think, as others have mentioned, that Lois is just freelancing for the Inquisitor. She can easily do that on the side of being Martha's CoS.

See the director's cut of the next episode on The CW website for the answer to this question.

Lois still is the COS as the Whither trailer suggests.. you guys are right.. she may right part time and be a COS.. and then gradually shift towards journalism..
