View Full Version : Lionel's plan
Its getting obvious in my opinion that Lionel is def. on the track to becoming his usual self, MB. I think he is always going to use Clark to help Lex out of trouble just because of the trump card he has of "lex might remember your powers and might tell anyone".

Honestly, I don't see how that's really "Being the MB." I mean, Lex is his son. It just seems like Lionel's looking out for Lex to me.

I don't think he is but we will soon find out...
he can still read kryptonian lang. and he didnt mention anything to clark or anyone in this episode. lex still has the piece of that spaceship which gives a hint that they are following the line of him goign crazy to bring brainiac back to life and helping him give back the powers that he once possesed. Now lionel needs to stay close to clark so he can be uptodate with any brainiac/zod news, so he can tell lex or try to get the powers himself and basically run the show by killing off clark/superman. Till then he'll use clark to also save lex because ofcourse of the danger lex is in after all the "dark thrusday" events.

yea you never know with lionel. He could be good he could be evil or he could be in the middle. We just got to wait and see what happens through out the season.

Lionel really yelled at Lex about remembering his time as Zod. I wonder why...
But for most of the episode he really was gung-ho about finding Lex... Even to the point of lighting a fire under Clark to find Lex. I wonder if it was really out of concern for Clark, or out of concern for whatever information Lionel wants Lex to remember. Something that has to do with the "Power" of last week perhaps...

Ginnyfan, I noticed that as well, the fact that Lionel seemed desperate for Lex to remember. But it seemed odd. Lionel doesn't usually get that emotional. He seemed really desperate, almost paniced. That's not very MB like...but maybe it does have something to do with the "Power" thing of last week...maybe he thinks it will bring him power to find out what Lex remembered? We'll have to wait and see. Very intriguing episode.

Lionel definitely manipulated Clark into helping Lex.
I think Lionel has awaken something inside himself to figure out the language and wants Lex to do the same thing.
Like I said, had lionel not been upto something, he shouldve told Clark and Martha about the "power" incident when he came to ask for help. He clearly wants the powers Clark has, or atleast wants Lex to have them. Lionel wants Lex to take over the world without CLark, Zod or Jor-el etc. I mean who doesnt want to be a God among people? He does know if he gets the powers or Lex does, either way its the Luthors running the show, Clark needs to smarten up and not fall for Lionels "Oh help lex or he might tell people about your power if he remembers any of it" routine.

s q, I didn't see this at all.
Yes Lionel used Clark to help his son, but in Vessel/Zod he seemed to be willing to forfeit Lex to save the world, so I can not agree.
And I see Lionel as "good" and the "MB" at the same time. Like he's a puppetmaster but for the good. He doesn't know what Lex will become. But he does seem to know what Clark will become. And Lionel knows he can use Clark's secret as a way to get Clark to help him. I also don't think Lionel would risk his relationship with Martha and do something terrible.
I thought of the vessel/zod bit too, but then again its Lionel, he switches on/off in a second. You do remember how he changed back to his normal self after the lex's clone episode? With Lionel you can expect the worst. Martha Kent is probably least of his worries. I alwyas think this is his plan, always has been. He knew Martha was gullible and would believe anything he had to offer whereas jonathan was too smart to believe any of his lies. Now jonathan gone, lionel doesnt want to expose clark to the world, he wants to keep clark as his personal santa lil helper. he wants clark to dig up his dirty work in a way clark will think its being doen for the betterment of the world or do it just so because he has no choice(secret exposed threat?). lionel is def. trying to manupilate clark into doing stuff for him and his family by using the card ive discussed before. Clark will need to overcome that in this season, hey its all speculation to this point, but i for one am not believing Lionel has turned the other cheek for good, his darkside is too strong to overlook.
