since 'vessel', the show has focused so heavily on lex...first his romance with lana, then being inhabited by zod, and now the whole oliver queen angle...the majority of these episodes have revolved around lex and his affairs.

and that completely takes away from the hype of clarks new power. when he used to get powers, it was this big deal...and now, chloes telling him how to use it? give me a break.

What I hate is how lex's relationship with Lana is making him look like the good guy. He should be our main villain by now, really. We shouldn't need Zod to see Dark Lex.

Considering that theme of this season is the "Rise of Lex Luthor," I think there will be focus on Lex.

granted there will be a focus on lex, but i didnt think it would be enough to make clark's new power a side story.

I just don't like the fact that Lex is being made out to be the hero. He saved Lana by stabbing the guy with the needle and then Clark saved Lex and Lana without them knowing. I can't take much more of that, I'd rather Clark not saved either one of them. This was a similar scene that was done at the end of Fade.

I also want to see Lex step it up in the evil department. This guilt over the Zod possession is just too much to take.

I'm with ya, myanskent. And Lex's utter honesty to Lana makes me scream in rage! She must be lied to!

Thats why he has to kill Chloe. Thats the only way that fans of the show will truly hate him.

This needs to end too. It's way out of character for Lex to tell the truth about everything. He has told Lana the truth ever since Splinter when he showed her the ship. I'm sorry, but that doesn't scream "Lex Luthor" to me.

i have to agree. we see too little of evil lex. its like a rare commodity in this show. its like the whole show is focused on rationalizing that lex isnt completly bad like we all may think. its focused on him being the hero and clark is a threat to mankind. still a good episode though but yeah they arent doing any character much justice.

Its funny because at one point in this episode when they were together I said to myself "When did this happen". I feel like it happened so fast but I guess it took most of season 5.

they were working at it early in season five actually they started in the first episode of season five with him saying u owe me on the newspaper. so i dont know it was expected to happen just shouldnt have been put in teh show because its more lana than we all want to deal with.

I have to say this whole Lexanaville is starting to get annoying. MR used to be so cool on the show. Plus I remeber this show supposed to be about TW as Clark Kent, now its all about "I love you Lana", "No I love you Lex, but please don't spy on me.", "Oh and who is Clark Kent is he even on this show any more.", "No I think they replaced him with Oliver Queen. " Don't get me wrong I love Smallville and try really hard not to complain, but I am really getting to a point where Lexanaville can just leave.

From the very first poster, waaaaay back before the series first aired. It was supposed to be about both Clark & Lex, the two halves of the legend.

Lex will just dump Lana later on or something and laugh in her face. That will tick off a lot of folks.

Maybe he will upload some videos onto the web.

If it is more about Lex then I am all for it, but I agree that Lana isn't making Lex look good. It is hard to take him seriously as the villian with the relationship.

I am starting to see Clark start acting a bit more like the hero in this episode with helping fix the disasters. I hope they keep it up. If only we can see Lex start more...

I wish it was all about Lex, since Lex is a thousand times cooler and more interesting to watch than Clark.

No, sadly, Lex has been reduced to Lana's handmaiden. This show should be about Clark, Lex and a decent Lois if she's to be here. Lana was never this important in the comics and shouldn't have been puffed up to be so important here, often to the exclusion of Lex or even Clark. "Lois" is awful and shouldn't be here. If Chloe is Lois then it's a different story, of couse. Chloe can hold her own.

Me personally,i aint have problem with that cause Michael Rosenbaum does a wonderful acting job.

How can anyone say that about the marvelous Erica Durance? Her Lois is by far the BEST Lois I've ever seen. She captures the right amount of spunk, sarcasm, zeal, and wit, while also making her character a vulnerable creature who deep down just needs love. Durance inflicts every scene she's in with a punch of energy and a new emotion all the time. She always has some new thing to do with her character, and she always balances the conflicting emotions of Lois's character just right, without making her too angsty or dramatic. She adds spice and comedy to such a dark and dramatic show, but she has her moments of sadness and drama as well that she plays with such subtlty that it is just so poignant and realistic.

I'm glad that they put a lot of focus on Lex. He's actually my favorite character. MR is awesome.

No I think they focus on Lex less than most of the characters, actually. Right now all of them are involved - Clark, Lana, Lex, and Chloe, the big four. The parents have virtually been wiped to just side roles popping up occassionally since Jonathan was killed off. Since they're trying to bring more of the alien origin in play, they have to think of plot lines to involve Fine, Zod, the ship, and the best solution is Lex and Lana's obsession with those. Pretty soon it will return to normal and focus just on Lana :)

It is about time the show is about Lex more and more. He makes for a really interesting show.

I am glad these episodes are pretty Lex-centered. They have been good.

At this point Lex really isnt evil. hes a nice guy who essentially just gets abused by Clark.

Besides, what is evil in the first place? Evil isnt a concret, definable thing. It is just a term used to describe ideas that are polar opposite of our own. No one thinks that what tehy are doing is evil. everyone rationalizes it. Even Hitler had a rationalization.
