Well apparently CLark always needs someone to show him how to use his powers. Pa Kent is gone so now Chloe helps. Too bad it couldnt have been Martha.

Of course Clark needs help. He can't read Kryptonian. Don't you remember last season?

Clark, being the BDA that he is, would obviously need help from someone. I'm kinda disappointed Martha didn't have a bigger part in helping Clark.

So true.
How could he not know to blow? God, he really looked dumb there.
I wonder who will push him off a building and say flap your arms or something when he sneezes himself airborne and levitates?
Hopefully Martha will get her turn.

This should've been Martha helping Clark out. I'm sorry to all of the Chloe fans out there, but it seems like her character is taking over Jonathan's role on this show. I'm not too happy about that.

Chloe helping out was kinda' cool, but yes, Martha should have had a slightly larger role.

Yeah I would have prefered it if Martha helped him out the way she and JK did with the heat, x-ray, whisper eppys....almost seemed like tptb forgot about that. But I guess one could think of that as minute. oh well still a great episode, felt like old school, classic SV.

while it would be cool if martha helped she's never really helped wit any of his powers.Really the only time she talks to him is when its relationship probs(Either wit lana/chloe in s1/Jor-El).So I'm not too shocked she didn't help, but it was good to see chloe pickup what JK would help out wit.

I didn't think Chloe showed him how to use his powers as much as she overrode his scepticism.

it was nice that is was chloe that helped him out with superbreath. She is taking over johnathn's role of helping clark figure out how to work his powers. I do agree martha should have helped out more too.

Sneeze was a dumb title for an episode. It would have been much cooler IMO if he discovered the power while blowing on his soup or hot coco to cool it off and instead blew it all over the place. Or if he was blowing dust off something (like the journal Lois gave him). A birthday episode would have been best, but his birthday already passed.
It bothered me how Chloe had to help him find out about superbreath. In the past, he discovered his abilities and needed Jonathan to help teach him how to control them. But this time, he discovered the super sneeze, and Chloe had to point out to him to blow instead. They have to stop making him be such a BDA. I was hoping the title of this episode would have been Gust, or Gale (as in gale wind). Or maybe even breeze.

It's great Chloe helped Clark with his power and I know why the writers did it. Chloe and Clark have a chemistry that's very natural. Matha has always played the concerned mother as a backdrop to Jonathan's direction. It wouldn't feel natural to put Martha in this role yet because they first have to change her character so it will be more natural. They are starting to do this and that's why she was in the fortress talking to Jorel. This is usually Jonathan's role. Personally, I think Chloe will fill some of Jonathan's shoes because it just works better that way if you ask me.

I didn't mind it. Clark was feeling like crap, struggling with his powers, and just generally not in the mood. I can appreciate that  Chloe gave him a nudge when he needed a boost. I thought it would bother me, but in context of this episode, I liked it a lot.
As for Clark acting on his own...he was out cleaning up the city every night, on his own. He went off to rescue Boris and Natasha, on his own. He was able to master the superbreath enough so that he blew out the fire and saved the day, on his own. Honestly, I hate how everything Clark does RIGHT is glossed over and ignored as though it didn't happen.

I agree. Chloe, more or less just gave Clark a suggestion. He would've eventually figured it out himself, IMO.

I think Chloe is just being Chloe, TPTB are just using the way they work together so well I feel she was just nudging him if you like. Like she always does, Chloe is always trying to push him forward IMO. Now she knows all about his powers he knows she will help him no matter what, plus she thinks his powers are cool :p
Like alot of others have said he goes to Martha for problems of the heart and that is what she is best at, doesen't mean she has been over looked. I also feel it will be Chloe that pushes him towards being a journalist but we will have to wait and see.

He pretty much had to learn how to focus his x-ray vison and his superjump abilities on his own.
JK tried to help with his x-ray vision with the "what am I holding behind me back" trick. But Clark knew without his x-ray powers as shown in a funny light hearted scene between the two. So really, JK helped with only super hearing and heat vision. Anything else was figured out on his own.
I know you guys remember Him jumping off the building in Season 3 and ....and Season 4 in lucy.....and Season 5 onto the rocket.

I have to agree completely here with BadToad. He was sick and exhausted, nobody thinks at their best under these conditions.
Personally, I think Chloe is intrigued by what else he may be capable of and her comment near the end about Clark airlines or whatever that was, she may just try to get him to try to fly.
martha has much more a bigger role than helping clark find his powers. heck shes the one who designs his costume. im pretty sure she'll have something to do with his flying too. besides helping clark find his powers, she helps him keep his sanity in tact. she guides him more mentally and emotionally than physically. shes the reason clark is level headed and the major reason he is a peace-loving justice obeying character.

I totally agree I have been preaching this for the past year. but apparently all of the Chloe worshippiers who are blinded by there love for there god can't see that. They are making Clark a retard so that Allison Mack can have a role on the show.
This also show how hypocritical people are on here. On another thread people are complaining about Lana and Lex and how the relationship is taming lex. That the only reason the relatioship was create so that she could have a role on the show. But the same thing can be said about Clark and Chloe, they are making clark dumb so that she can have a reason to be on the show. Clark is not a retard, Chloe is not a god she is not all knowing and she should not be the giving Chlark advice on how to use his powers. How to read Kryptonian or anything. She needs to go.

I think Clark needed to go to Chloe on the powers issue. Martha was just a little wiggy with the whole being sick thing and Jonathan not there to be any kind of help to Clark.
Martha's expertise is the emotional not the physical. So in that sense, Chloe is a good replacement for Jonathan.

The fact that Clark and Chloe are the same age the only difference is that Clark is suppose to be a super intellegent being from another planet. Who is the same age as a lower life-form, but has to ask that lower life form for advice about his powers, isn't at all insulting to Clark and all Kryptonian.
TPTB need to change his name from Superman to Super-retard.

I loved Chloe giving Clark the suggestion about effectively utilizing his super lung capacity. Go Team Chlark!
On a similar note: [paraphrased] "Air Clark ... non-stop flights to Metropolis...."
I really hope that's a foreshadowing of Clark flying with Chloe. :D

I liked it. Chloe in some ways has taken over the role of Jor El and Jonathan. She however if finding the balance between the two and is helping him become a hero.
I love Chloe's character more and more as the show continues. It's strange that she is this totally original character into the mythos and yet is becoming one my favorites.

I do like that Chloe is sort of the second half of the Martha/Jonathan support team now. They really sort of... initiated this in Vengeance with the Chloe/Martha scene.
That's usually what Martha and Jonathan do... Override Clark's own skepticism about his powers and encourage him. They don't figure out his power... they help him figure it out.

Clark: "Chloe... I sneezed and blew a barn in my door" (starts to whimper) "Please tell me how to use my super-breath"
Chloe: "Okay Clarkie, sit down. Auntie Chloe will make it all better." (pulls out a book; "The Big Book of Kryptonian Powers, now with pictures") "Okay, this is Mr. Air..."

I don't like the fact that Chloe helped Clark out with his new power. It should have been Martha. I thought Clark looked really dumb in that scene.
I just wish that they make him smarter already!!!
