not sure if this counts...
"those bullets bounced off you like ping pong balls"...ping pong balls dont normally bounce on human skin, although he could have meant off of a table...hmm.

Lana's Hand is completely healed. Lex's mansion is already fixed after Clark/Zod went throught it.

if they shot off him at all, wouldnt there have been some bullet holes when zod came back to the mansion with the satelite controller.... as far as i saw his close were fine... unless he picked up new ones on the way back..

I hate looking for goofs! That's not why we watch the show. The mistakes made by careless producers only detract from the illusion, but only if they're noticable. Still, I'm compelled to read anyway...

Ping pong balls bounce. hence the, "Bullets were bouncing off you like ping pong balls." He was just using ping pong balls as an example.

Lana had a hole in her hand last week... would just a band aid heal her? Big mistake!

Lana calls Chloe's phone and leaves a message with no prompt at all. Phone rings twice, we hear nothing but Lana leaves her message.
She didn't even wait for the beep!

Which is why Chloe probably never got the message ^^.

Why did they even have Lana leave a message for Chloe??!! That message was never needed. They found the address in that guy's office.

Or maybe he's experienced playing ping pong with a table a little close to a ceiling fan and had a ping pong ball bounce around the room and off someone's head. Or maybe that's just me. lol

When Chloe & Clark was in the detective's apartment she said that it would take hours for her to hack into "Lex's" files. She wasn't trying to hack into Lex's files, but the detective's. "Oops".. LOL!
Also, the Lana hand thing. Too convienient - too quick.

^^^ I think Chloe meant Lex's files on the detective's computer, because Lex was his client and he would have files on him.

Martha says some thing like, "I don't remember you ever being sick."
What about Fever. They both almost died. I know she was in the hospital when he got sick, but I assume they told her about it.

lex was shot in the arm or the bullet scraped his arm, either way that would have caused serious pain but later he was able to move that bench with lana etc. not a massive mistake but i still thought it was unrealistic that they can shrug off pain so easily

it's the same theory with superman and his costume, superman has this 'aura' which makes things within millimetres of his skin invulnerable, like in the superman films his costume never gets bullet holes or damaged etc. this would be the same with zod

no because the 'aura' would protect his clothes from damage.

I normally don't check for goofs but I was somehow curious about the rest of the text in the paper in Chloe's hand :) check out the result:

this is the best mistake of all....when clark tries to rip open the secret door in the private eyes office you hear the sound of the metal crunching before he even begins to rip open the door

Thanks to the digital age, TiVo, DVD, freeze frame, etc., the producers have to be so much more careful than the days when George Reeves would fly across the screen from left to right and his chest insignia was clearly backwards :D "Naw, it won't matter, kids are watching this on a tiny screen...they'll NEVER see that."

The reasoning behind the mansion being fixed, Lana's hand being mostly healed, and the car removed from the Daily Planet is the same thing they did last season. The episodes aren't a week apart. If they were, Sneeze would still be in May, when really it was probably closer to the middle of summer, like July. Remember, the writers have 4 months of summer vacation to make up for.

Maybe they are just trying to establish that Lana and Chloe are still friends and that she trusts her.

I honestly don't see why they put that part in the episode. I thought maybe Chloe would find the message and know where Lana was, hence sending Clark. But Clark and Chloe figured it all out.....

But is has to be tights, his aura protects only clothes less than 1/4 inch from his body, hence the thights, it is Comic canon, explained by Byrne (one of the most important Superman comic writters in the post crisis time)

I've always been led to believe that the suit is as impervious as Superman, hence the bullets bouncing off his chest with no marks on the suit. Yet at the end of the movie (Superman Returns), the doctors and nurses cut the suit and tear it off of him.
Antithesis

That used to be true. I think his first origin was the the suit was made form his blanket in the ship he was sent by until his origin was changed several years ago.

The biggest mistake of the ep is a HUGE plothole if never addressed...
I can't believe I ignored this, but if Lex has the Luthor mansion totally exposed with security cameras, how in the world has no one scene the thousands of times Clark has superspeeded his way off the grounds?? Or all the other stuff he's done in Lex's chamber...Even if Lex just recently installed the camera's Clark zooming off outside the room after talking to Lana surely would have been captured...You can clearly see the hallway with the stained glass door outside of Lex's office on the security feed...
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b270/hanxthre/bscap0008.jpg
As you can see in the lower right hand side is the stained glass door outside of Lex's chamber...This is the same door Clark superspeeds away from after over-hearing Lana make that phone call..
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b270/hanxthre/bscap0009.jpg
This pic simply re-shows the door...So evidently Lex has Clark on tape snooping and using his powers...which I doubt will ever come into play...Yeah this may be considered pretty small to most, but for a professional writer or director to ignore this speaks at either laziness or lack of caring...I'm sure the producers missed it as well...
Thoughts?!?!
Keldaz
10-10-2006, 09:18 AM
hahah, you are absolutely right!
Or maby Lex is for once NOT a liar and meant what he said with "These tapes are only seen when needed"
;)
coco#1
10-10-2006, 06:02 PM
its very common for security cameras to use the same tape over and over again and it also goes to show that Lex dont really have a clue to what is really going on with Clark or it would occure to him to check the tapes in his own mansion in the first place which he hasent.......i dont think its right to call the writers/producers of smallville lazy or non caring.the show has awesome special effects and looks beautiful week in and week out and the writing is always entertaining:rotfl: :rotfl:

Must be nice living in perfect-land :o...
Lex is very meticulous and methodical...I doubt he doesn't look at a security system that is inches away from his desk with 5 huge monitors... in a HIDDEN AREA..Now if they are setting this up for later I'm down with that but if we never hear about it again it is an overlooked plothole especially when it is shown within seconds of Clark zooming off right in-front of Lex's door which is on the secrity feed which i have shown...

You'd think Lex would get curious about how Clark always sneaks past his security to come into his office uninvited! :D
Why are we treated like dumb lab rats by tptb? I mean, I know every show has its flaws, but this seems to happen all the time. They establish something important, like Lex always saying he needs to tighten security when Clark bursts in like he does, then the next week, we get to see it all over again.
And when Lex needs to review something on his cameras (like in RUN) they are always there for his viewing pleasure, but when Clark throws aliens into the Phantom Zone (Arrival) or superspeeds (Sneeze) .... WHERE ARE THE CAMERAS THEN?
I think the writers should choose ..... Lex either has cameras or he doesn't. Simple as that. They shouldn't expect us to believe this inconsistency week after week.

i just think its down to the laziness of writers, don't get me wrong they do a great job e.g. in Zod, but still they seem quite happy to leave these inconsistencies whithout ever dealing with them

Not to mention dropped plotlines. It's one thing for Lana's blackmailer not to follow up, but did we ever get an explanation for Lex not needing his blood replaced every so many hours?

I'm not sure if it would be considered a "mistake" or "stupid", but there's something wrong with the idea that he could use his breath to overpower something his arms could not. I know he has powerful lungs, but that was ridiculous.

His "arms" were out of whack due to the "cold". That's why he was able to use his breath to overpower it when his arms couldn't. And he has not just powerful lungs, they're like blasting a hurricane out of your lungs.

I know he usually could have taken out the door with his arms, and that he was sick, but you'd think his lungs would be just as weak.

Pontius told Lex that the SUV that was following him had Edge City plaes. Cities don't have plates. States do. And if Oliver Queen was the one that was having Lex followed, shouldn't the SUV have had Star City plates.
Also there was a problem with the closed captioning. It says that Block threatened Lex by saying "The next bullet goes in your brain. Now start talking." He doesn't say that.

Clark was sick that's why he had no strength in his arms to open the door. And because he had a cold, so breathing would be just like a sneeze really.... :)
