Is the ecometer related in any way to the events of the episode it's in? Based on what you said (being in the corner of a camera shot) it doesn't seem like it's used, but just there for decoration of the scene.
binkys711
06-28-2007, 10:01 PM
No it isn't used. It seems it may belong in the place it's seen (b/c of the location) but they don't use it, just decoration. It doesn't relate to the episode in any way.
Hint: The freak of the week needs to have some serious surgery on his throat...:p

Well, its obviously Whisper then. Was the ecometer at the wreckers?? Or maybe where Clark was getting his glasses fitted??
binkys711
06-29-2007, 12:53 PM
Geez, about time! Yes it was in whisper. It's seen in the corner of the warehouse/towing truck place where Pete was being held hostage. As Clark jumps off of the towing truck and approaches the door to listen for Pete it is seen on the right-hand corner of the screen.

What difficult piece was someone able to play without a single piano lesson? Who, episode and composer please.
xrayvision
06-30-2007, 11:51 AM
It was Adam in Hereafter. He was playing one of Rachmaninoff's pieces.
In Metamorphosis, Lana discovered something somewhere in Smallville High. Her attention was then diverted and started to proceed walking but was temporarily stopped by a certain character before she left. Something very important happened at this same location in another season.
Here are the questions:
1. What was the location?
2. What did she discover (in Metamorphosis)?
3. Who in Metamorphosis temporarily stopped her?
4. What was the very important thing (mythos-wise) that happened at the same location in another season?
skully
06-30-2007, 05:33 PM
Hehe, nice quesion xray. Out come the DVDs.
skully
06-30-2007, 06:49 PM
Well, having quickly whizzed through Metamorphosis, the only scene at Smallville High that Lana was in was when she confronted Whitney in the locker hall about stringing Clark up in the field as the scarecrow. She dicovered that Whitney was a jerk and that he'd lost her necklace, then walked away to be confronted by Greg Arkin on the stairs. So at this stage:
1. Locker hall / stairs - Smallville High
2. She discovered that Whitney was a tool, that Whitney strung Clark up as the Scarecrow, that Whitney had lost her necklace and that she cared for Clark.
3. Greg Arkin temporarily stopped her at the top of the stairs.
4. The only mythos related thing I can think of was when Clark touched Jordan Cross on the stairs in Hereafter and Jordan had the flash of the cape i.e Clark is Superman and lives forever.
That's the best I can do man.

Who was Fredrick Nietsche? 19th Century German philosopher, who wrote the book (name escapes me) that Lana handed back to Clark when he collapsed in front of her at Smallville High in Pilot. She said "So, what are you, man or superman?"

I would guess in season five when clark gets recruited to play college ball. I would just say that because one of the college players was using his powers to get ahead, and the team was being provided with perks by the alums.
Another example could be when the high school coach was supplying his players with test scores.

In the SV world, what do "more bang for their buck" and Gia have in common? [apart from the obvious escort line]
xrayvision
07-04-2007, 12:19 AM
More bang for their buck is what Pete said to Martha regarding Garrett's brother Vince using kryptonite explosives in his family demolition business in Resurrection. Gia was introduced to Clark by Graham Garrett. So I'm guessing it's the name Garrett?

Either that, or I'm guessing you're talking about paying Dr. Walden his weekly rate for just one 10 minute consultation.
skully
07-06-2007, 07:25 PM
The latter xray. Not sure what the working week is in the States but here in Aus its a 35 hour week. So a week's pay for 10 minutes work translates to a 210 times markup (is that a 21000% raise??)

In the US, it's 40 hours, where non-salary employees & workers get paid for overtime for anything beyond 40 and salary employees work for free (no overtime) for anything above 40.
Anyway, my 2 questions are:
1. A 1-time character in the first three seasons had a past in a certain location that a regular of this show went to in an episode in the latter three seasons. Who was the 1-time character, who was the regular who later went there, what episode did the 1-time character appear in, and what episode did the regular go to that location?
2. This is a bonus for Knight Rider fans:
The episode Arrow had a plot line that was very similar, if not adapted from a season 2 episode of Knight Rider. What were the episode & plotline?

Was is Lucas Luthor who we saw gambling in Edge City? The episode was Prodigal and he was tracked back to Smallville by the machine gun-wielding, motorbike-riding Yakuza-style hitmen. :D
I know that Edge City was mentioned again but I can't think how it fits into your question. Maybe it will jog someone else's memory!
EDIT: Hang on - just thought.......was Edge City where a red-K Clark and Alicia go to get married? The episode was Unsafe.

skully
07-07-2007, 07:01 PM
Right let's start from the beginning and xray can tick 'em off as I go.
How about Greg Arkin in Metamorphosis. The place he had a past in was the old Smallville Foundry. The regular who visited it in the second half of the series was Chloe (and Clark and Lois) in Gone.
Or what about Earl Jenkins in Jitters. He had a past at Level 3. Clark and Chloe visited Level 3 in Mortal.
xrayvision
07-07-2007, 07:04 PM
Nope, not that one. By history, I mean that the character in question used to be at that location long-term. I won't yet say whether or not the character's history at the location was shown on-screen.
Not Earl Jenkins either. Wow, I can't believe how many circumstances fit my description.
skully
07-07-2007, 07:14 PM
How about Jeremy Creek in Pilot. He had been locked away in a State infirmery before coming out of his coma and escaping. Chloe and Clark (and Lex) went to an infirmery in Progeny (I think).
xrayvision

xrayvision

OK. The history of the character was never shown, but talked about. That should hopefully narrow it down.
skully
07-07-2007, 10:08 PM
How about Rachael Dunleavy in Lineage? Her past was in a psychiatric ward. Clark ended up in the psychiatric ward (in his Phantom dream) in Labyrinth.
xrayvision
07-07-2007, 11:13 PM
No. It's a location that the 1-time character was at and that the regular also went to. Not a similar type place like various psychiatric wards. But a specific place. By specific I mean it could be the same building, street, town, city, state, etc. (whatever the location was). The name of the location no matter how big or small mentioned in the episode with the 1-time character was the same name that the regular went to.
skully
07-08-2007, 05:15 AM

Well, if I do that, then it will probably make it very easy. Before doing that, I'll give one more hint. The character was on another CW show currently on the same night as Smallville (should be obvious which show) within 2 seasons of appearing on Smallville.

3. Who was the regular who later went there?
4. What episode did the 1-time character appear in?

3. Regular who later went there - Clark.
4. Epi 1-timer appeared in - Truth.
5. Epi that regular went there - Clark in Static.

I think its a 3 hour drive. remeber in truth when Pete tells Chloe that Clark is gonna run to metropolis to get a couple of "shark dogs" from the stadium. Chloe comments that thats like a 6 hour trip. 3 each way.
But i dont remember it being said that you can see the Metropolis skyline from SV... Which episode was that, cause that is kinda funny.

In "Ageless" Lana takes Evan to the top of the Windmill and You can see the Metropolis Skyline like its only 20 minutes away, and in "Exodus" when they show Clark on the motorcycle RIGHT after he drives off, you can see the skyline there as well
I was doing some thread searching and it looks like the same windmill from Ageless is used in Nicodemus and the Skyline apparently looks even closer in that ep. lol

Hmm, I don't know How realistic, or unrealistic that is based on what I've seen. I used to live in colorado, and kansas for a bit, but in colorado I remember looking out accross the land, and seeing a spot that I would have liked to have ridden a horse to. My dad just chuckled cause he'd been living out there for a while and knew that I was use to a more condensed area where you can't see that far. I thought it would take about 20 min to get there, but he explained to me that it was more like about three hours away. He said that because the land is more open, you can see further, and some things seem closer than they are. Would that work with the lights of metropolis, I don't know, just some input. I do know that the land is very flat in kansas, so it would make sense that you could see further.

I was on vacation once and drove by Lake Ontario (all open) and there are parts where you can the Toronto skyline, but I'm not sure if that was 3 hours away. I doubt it. I think it was closer than that.

Actually, I think I owe everyone an apology. The episode I was thinking of was Mortal but I have just realised that Level 3 (where Clark and Chloe went to get the serum that Lee was demanding) was only in Smallville not Metropolis. Lee gave Clark 2 hours and for some reason I had it in my head that they had to do the 6 hour round trip to Metropolis (as said in Truth by Pete - as correctly pointed out by W_G) to complete the task. Humble apologies.

No need to apologize. I'm pretty sure Splinter was one where her car seemed to be going abnormally fast since she got to Metropolis not long after Clark. Solitude may be another one (I forgot if she went from Metropolis to CKU).

You're right xray, one of these 4 actors starred in the eponymous role. Maybe this link will help:

I remember he crashed one of the 2 in Delete when he was under the influence. He also crashed it in Slumber when he fell asleep. Those are all the times that stand out that Clark crashed it. Jonathan also crashed it in Exodus thanks to Clark's ship's energy wave.

asking "in the episode where a green car drives by a grey car, what's the name of the street the tan car is sitting on..." i can't do that.
this game wasn't always this hard, i just think they started asking tougher questions to stump each other, and all of us non-genuises can't keep up,

In "Exposed" when Clark first enters the club, why is the stripper on stage a bad stripper? Correct episode but not necessarily the most noticeable thing about her. Melissa Page was wearing $500 Jimmy Choo shoes (which was what Lois most noticed).
And the bad thing about the first stripper was that as Clark walked into the Club she was taking her top off. Then when they showed her finishing her act, she had her top on. Pretty crappy "stripper".
And as for earlier comments about this thread being a 3 man show, that wasn't the intention. As was correctly pointed out, in a thread that has been going for this long, most "easy" trivia questions have already been used. Hence the recent trend for much trickier stuff. If that's not your go, I understand. I said the same thing on the 189 page "Who said it" thread. Start another thread called "easy trivia"or something. I assure you, xray and I will not ruin your fun. I don't apologise for being a SV tragic who knows the show backwards (hence the mention of "7th & Edgemont" DOES have Exposed jumping straight into my head).

Yeah, I can understand how some of these questions are so hard, we all struggle with them (except maybe skully and xray :p props to ya dough! ;)) sometimes seeming that you will never find the answer it gets incredibly frustrating (especially that one with the #'s that someone posted damn that took a long time) but it's fun, and while ur looking through endless amounts of epi's you notice things you didn't before, it's part of the game, as said before, most of the easier questions have already been asked, making the trivia questions harder is inevitable as more pages of questions are asked. Just keep trying to answer 'em and eventually you'll get one, it's part of the fun looking for da correct answer and running to ur comp to beat the other person. I'd definitely play along in a new thread. This one is like watching Jeopardy, or that new pop culture show. It's hard as crap, but that keeps me on my toes, and I like watching the pros at work. However, this is way better than a tv show, because it's about something that's sweet as $#^!, and it's interactive. A newer version would be like the take home addition. Easier questions, and a chance to feel like a pro, because you already know a lot of stuff from the show.
They'd have to keep this one alive though, because without it, we'll all never get as good as them. If that's possible. You have to play with the big boys, in order to learn to play at their level. But again, it's very fun to play the take home version. :)

WAIT! I got it lol. It was staring me in the face. I just watched this ep the other day. Coach Walt Arnold from S1 "Hot Head" also played Jack Arnold in the series "The Wonder Years" !~WOOT~! :D gotta take a minute to come up with a good Q, ill be back ;)
Ok, well being at work right now I dont have all my resources but ill try an easy one I guess.
First, what is Chloes email address and what episode does it appear in? Next, if you write to her, what is the link to the place she sends you?

^^I believe the answer of that question is in the episode Blank (maybe more episodes) where Chloe emails herself the video of Kevin getting his brain fried. I can't remember it at the moment. But I know the domain name is the same as Virgil Swann's, which was a quiz question I asked a long time ago.

Pretty good guess RedBullet, I didn't even remember that scene! :p, but the answer I was looking for as far as what the company does is said at the side of the truck right under the Kanscom title, it reads "Mobile Repair Unit"
So I guess it's skully's turn, seeing as he got the the first part of the question correct (sorry RedBullet :\) We better start getting prepared for skully's question *puts spaghetti drainer on head as helmet* Ok I'm ready :p
I believe Kanscom is seen in many episodes. I'm certain I remember seeing Chloe use its website many times. It may have been in Truth, and I think was in Crisis. I think it was also in Mercy when she tracked down the phone number that Lincoln Cole called Lionel on.

I'm not sure about the 2nd part of your question, but my guess is that the link is to the digital wall of weird. I don't know what the URL is though.
I'm going to give the answer to the bonus question I posted since nobody will get it:
Question: The episode Arrow had a plot line that was very similar, if not adapted from a season 2 episode of Knight Rider. What were the episode & plotline?
Answer: The KR episode was KITT the Cat (the episode with Geena Davis), where various rich people with things to hide were getting robbed by a high profile cat burglar and didn't report the thefts because they didn't want the police investigating them. This was exactly what Ollie as the GA was doing in Arrow with all those rich guys.
Still open
Chloe in a season looks at specific medical records of Lionel's for a condition that he may or may not have had. What specific records does she look at?

Actually X-Ray that answer is incorrect, that WAS her email address though, I remember seeing that one most clearly in "Krypto" when she emailed herself files from the Vets office for Lois to check out. Still open, and ill work on the one about the condition as well. Are you looking for the condition here? Or want to know where the records came from?

Noooooooooooo! Arrow airs on Sunday in the UK!! I'm a big Knight Rider fan (in an ironic kind of way you understand - I once went to a fancy dress party as Michael Knight, perm and all). That said, I probably wouldn't have got it so it's all academic anyway!
Could you verify that your Chloe question refers to S2 and Lionel's blindness, or would that be giving too much away?

You probably want her Daily Planet email address.
As for mine, the question was for what specific kind of medical records she looks at.

Ok just to clarify, there are two standing questions. i think.
1.Chloe in a season looks at specific medical records of Lionel's for a condition that he may or may not have had. What specific records does she look at? - by Xrayvision
2. What is Chloes Email adress. - by Digitalsteel
well, i know that her email at the daily planet is..
chloe_sullivan@dailyplanetmail .com as seen in splinter when Clark noticed that she is getting mail from Lionel, but im not sure about what kind of medical records she looked at.
If you were to walk out of the front door to the Talon in season 3, what business would be next door on your left hand side?
oh and im still working on the medical records question. that one seems to be harder than i first thought.

Is the answer Hornby? I saw a TD Waterhouse in Recruit when Geoff is driving Clark to the football stadium. You can just see a street sign as they turn the corner. Is this what you mean by a "known" street? I'm not sure if you're referring to a name which is mentioned by a character.
(I'll formulate a question while I wait!)

It is not spoken. This question is actually probably way too difficult because you found the right episode and the right spot. I tried looking at the street signs and I thought they weren't visible...meaning you'd have to find another means to figure out the street.
It's on the corner of "this" and some unknown street(perhaps Hornby). But you don't see the street name I was looking for until AFTER you see TD Waterhouse.

Ok, I've rewatched the scene and I can only guess you're referring to the GPS screen which shows their location as 11th and Bedford. Bedford is the answer because it's the street that runs across the one they are on.
However, I actually think my first answer is right . By the time we see the GPS screen Clark and Geoff have been talking for a few seconds and have therefore driven past Hornby - which is visible even without pausing. I tried looking a few streets "back" but the GPS screen doesn't mention Hornby (it would be a mock-up of a road map anyway!)
Jeez, I need to get out more........
Right, next question:
Which book is Lionel reading before being punished for previous transgressions?

Ahh, but you had to look closer...
They turned past TD Waterhouse, then they were driving along the street(without turning again) when the GPS said 11th and Bedford. And, if you look on the map on the GPS screen, the arrow shows they are driving along 11th street and have just passed the corner of Bedford, meaning TD Waterhouse is on 11th street.
Way too much to expect, I know...

Which book is Lionel reading before being punished for previous transgressions?
I was thinking of the scene in Crusade where Lois confronts Lionel in his cage. He is reading a book leaning on one elbow but there is no way you can read the title on the cover or spine. Can I eliminate this scene as the one you are after Lex Dance?
Lex Dance
09-05-2007, 04:37 AM
You can eliminate that scene skully - I thought that might be the one people would immediately think of. The title of the book Lionel is reading is clearly visible (in fact the writers of Smallville are having their own post-modernist joke!) Oh, and "punished" might be a slight red herring.
You win Dr Walden! Or though it might be argued that TD Waterhouse is actually on the street running perpendicular to 11th, be it Hornby or Bedford. I guess it depends on which street the entrance is!
Good question - I enjoyed doing the research!
skully
09-05-2007, 05:41 AM
Hmmm, tricky LD. So it's not immediately before his sentencing for murdering his parents then? What other "previous trangressions" might you be talking about? A little clue may be in order. The "post-modernist joke" doesn't do it for me!!
Lex Dance
09-05-2007, 02:01 PM
You really want a list of Lionel's previous transgressions?! I'd be here all night! In the great scheme of things his crime is fairly minor. His punishment is meted out by the law - but not in the orthodox manner.

09-05-2007, 05:46 PM
Ah, I think I have it. Was it Beyond Good & Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche at the beginning of Suspect? Cute, he was using the scanner reader with the computerized female voice to "read".
In case that is right, while on the subject of books, which one did Lex take out of Clark's backpack?
xrayvision
09-06-2007, 06:39 AM
It was the one Dr. Walden wrote. I think it was titled Uncovering the Mysteries of Hieroglyphics, but I'm probably wrong with the title.
Actually, I think it was called "Deciphering the Mysteries of Hieroglyphics".
If I'm right, then here is my question:
What do the episodes Red, Prodigal, Exposed, and Fade have in common?
skully
09-07-2007, 12:29 AM
Correct on the book xray. And just how devious are you being with your new question?? I could look for obvious things like common directors, writers etc, but that's not your style. Perhaps a little clue to point us in the right direction??

Cheers dude, I'll get lookin'.
I think it might be video-gaming, xray. Clark (on red-K) played a game of NFL in Red in the Loft on a big screen from "Discount Eddie's in Metropolis. Open all night". Lucas in Prodigal was playing a video-game on a big screen at the mansion when Lionel asked him to turn it off to sign the "agreement" just before Lucas confirmed that Lionel was no longer blind (by chucking an 8-ball at him - which Lionel ducked). In Exposed, Lois was playing a video game on a DP PC as she was sucking up to Chloe by keeping her company on the late shift, to get Chloe to help her move to the Talon apartment. And in Fade, Lois was playing a video game on the big screen at the Kent Farm, that Graham Garret sent Clark for saving his life.
