Last year, I was really excited because DirectTV was adding a local channel. It was the WB.

Now, I didn't have the UPN, so I couldn't watch Veronica Mars. So, when I heard that the WB and UPN were combining, I was once again very excited.

Until I turned on my TV today to find that I no long can get the local WB.

It's going to be a CW, because it is airing Veronica Mars, and Supernatural on that channel. I checked. Only it now has a message saying that this program is out of my area.

It's a freaking local station. They took it from me.

So, this means that not only am I going to no longer be able to see Smallville, I won't see Supernatural, or Veronica Mars.

This leaves me with ONE of my shows left, Lost, because it's the only one on a different station.

DirectTV must hate me.

Im sorry to hear about your problem Amanda, i have DirecTv, and dont have that problem.

I have dish network.. And have to pay for local channels.... CW is the old upn station.. So its likely you won't be gettin the CW... Does the channel work without the cable connected?.. You might have to rely on a good antena....

I have to pay for local channels too. That's the thing, I don't understand why they are suddenly taking away one of my local channels.

My WB was turning into the CW station, so it's not like it was a station I never had before.

The channel just doesn't work at all. :\

I'll have to see about an antenna. . . I just hate those rabbit ears. :lol:

I'm surprised you still have DirectTv I would have toasted it an got cable or something. Missing most of your favorite shows? Blah, get rid of it.;)

Sometimes you can pay for different affiliates. Like I live in detroit but I can pay for Chicago's local channels if I wanted. Yeah.. I think try the rabbit ears... I mean it is worth it for Veronica Mars :o:p

I think it's just a matter of.. they don't carry the UPN channel.. therefore they won't carry the CW channel because the CW has taken over UPN's old network. I don't know what I would do :lol:.. how did you watch VM before?

i have direct tv and i have a lot of channels! even the cw and alot of other wb stations

I didn't watch VM before, I've been catching up on You Tube.

And, CW isn't having just UPN's old network, I know some friends across the country whose old WB stations are getting the CW.

Rabbit ears are becoming more and more appealing. . . Doubt I can get my parents to pay for someone else's local channels, or switch to Dish.
