So our favorite wirters are up to tackling the MuMmy franchise with the third installment. I think they did an Amazing job on Spider-Man 2. it's actually my favorite movie. so i'm looking forward to seeing how they do this. AL and MILES, if you read here, and if you want a good idea of how most fans would like to see Smallville end, check out the writing contest!

I thought Spider-Man 2 was a good sequel. There were things I really didn't like about it:
1. Spider-Man losing his powers because of being depressed and not wanting to be Spider-Man anymore. I also didn't like how he is a mutant in the movies (web is a product of his body, etc) when Spider-Man is supposed to be one of the very few non mutant heroes in the Marvel Universe.
2. Mary Jane learning about his secret identity. I didn't mind the guys on the subway seeing him w/o the mask since they didn't know who he was, but I think it was too early for Mary Jane to find out. I like how in the comics she revealed that she had known for a long time after Puma attacked him and he closed the door and she heard all the banging & crashing. Comics in those days were the best if you ask me.
3. Mary Jane was too much like Lana (goes from guy to guy too damn quickly). There was also a lot of Smallville-ian angst.
My favorite scene was the fight on the subway all the way through to him stopping it from running off the track. It's interesting to see what will happen in the 3rd movie. They have it all backwards with Gwen Stacy being his 2nd girlfriend (supposed to be the first and the one who gets killed by the Green Goblin in the battle on the Brooklyn Bridge). They also screwed up the alien symbiote (it appears to just be a black ooze that makes his usual suit black instead of being an alien entity that emulates clothes and even other substances as seen with Venom later on). The black suit was a lot cooler in the comics with the big white spider. In the movie, it looks like a black version of the red & blue costume.
You can definitely sense AlMiles' fingerprints on the movies since they obviously know very little about Spider-Man as they do with Superman.

rofl. I think all the first love type characters are like Lana - not that I don't like Lana, I just think that they could have a little more depth and not just revolve around the guy of the time.
Anyway I liked the movie, but it was a little early for her to find out...still, at least there was no stringing anyone about.

Well, in the movies anyway. Mary Jane in the comics has so much more depth than in the movies, but then again, they had a lot more time to add that depth. Same with Gwen Stacy in the comics. They actually did have time to add more depth to Lana and make her a better character, but they just goofed up.

Nah i really liked how he lost his power because he wasn't with the woman he loved. That's how it can feel ya know? i love the movies. cant wait for may 4th. they blow superman returns away.

From what I understand weren't they fired from SpiderMan 2? Only parts of what they wrote were used, so it was required they get an onscreen credit.
I shudder to think of what they'll do with this movie :\
