Joss Whedon wrote for Roseanne from 1989-1990. Discuss the show and his episodes here.

All I remember from his interviews is that he appreciated the writing experience, and he mentioned his grandfather who wrote episodes for The Andy Griffth Show.

Yup he was. He was one of the daugther's husbands at the later end of the show. He didn't have the accent either as I recall lol.

I watched the early years of Roseanne and really enjoied them. The later years are unwatchable for me, the show just got so stupid:\

I didn't know his father was writter. I don't seem to know much about Joss:lol:

LOL about Glenn Quinn, what other shows has he been in besides Roseanne and Angel?

I always somehow miss seeing Joss' name when I watch Rosanne, so I never know which episodes he wrote.

His father, Tom, also wrote and co-produced for the show "Golden Girls."(I always see his name during the show) and Joss brother, Zack, has worked for the HBO hit "Deadwood". And Joss' grandfaher, John, worked for shows such as "Andy Griffin show", "Dick Van Dyke show", and "Leave it to Beaver". So the wholen freakin family is talented! I guess the whole writing thing must be their thing.

Well Roseanne is a hilarious show. Buffy was more a funny/dramatic show. I see Joss' humor as not as outragous as Roseanne's.

I never knew Joss Whedon wrote a few "Roseanne" episodes. Judging from the spectacular "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" I really shouldn't be surprised (I'm a newbie "Buffy" fan!) "Chicken Hearts" is actaully my favorite episode from the second season.

Erm, Glenn Quinn died of a heroin overdose, which is why he wasn't in anything post-"Angel." :(

Yeah, I did hear about that. Lets just say watching the "Angel" eppie "Hero" was not a very enjoyable experience. I really liked him as Mark on "Roseanne." My avatar is just a little tribute.

I found it amusing that one of the tombstones in a cemetery on Buffy says 'Roseann'

I never noticed that! I'm re-watching the series, so I'll try to find it! Considering Joss Whedon's love for doing in-jokes, I'm not surprised.
