Starring Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubans, Hillary Swank, David Arquette, and Luke Perry in 1992, this movie is a much younger and more tounge-in-cheek version of the TV show we all grew to love.

The B-Movie that got turned into one of the best shows ever :D
I still enjoyed the movie, though.

it's just a bummer they didn't have any special effects. i am definitely open to making a new one though :D but then again, like that will ever happen...

The original BTVS movie is pretty much crap. But it does have a few enjoyable scenes and you gotta respect the fact that it was responsible for the show we all love. It is funny because I saw the movie when it was out in the theater back in 92 when my family and I were on vacation in San Diego. I think the reason why I dislike the movie so much now is because of the fact that it has the show as a comparison. Back when you only had the movie, you could walk away from it with it being somewhat enjoyable and getting a few good laughs from it. But now after watching the BTVS series so many times, it just comes off as a joke by comparison. You really don't realize how terrible the film is, until you see the show.
I loved SMG's story about how she talked to Kiefer Sutherland one time when the show was first starting. He was very skeptical and asked if that was the movie his dad was in. Then he told Sarah that she would have better luck in finding something else. Years later he admitted to being wrong. Apparently Sarah is a huge fan of "24" and was really happy to hear the compliment/apology from KS.

I loved the movie... it was one of the movies I watched over and over again. I still love it to this day. It was one of the reasons I didn't like the show at first.
Certainly the show is more intelligent and better developed. But the movie is great for what it is... a fabulous campy spoof on vampire movies.

I'm sorry, but Kristy Swanson can't hold a candle to Sarah Michelle Gellar. Enough said.

Kristy Swanson was pretty awful, though that whole movie wasnt exactly oscar worthy! XD

That movie just left an icky feeling in my mouth. I LOVE the TV show, but after watching the movie, I felt violated. So many things were just WRONG. (Flying Vampires?! WTF??!!!) After watching this, I had to watch any "Buffy" episode just to get the yucky taste out of my mouth. I really HATED this movie.

Actually I do..... She was one of Buffy's friends, no?
Anyway: Were Buffy and Xander lovers in the movie???
I don't even remember, I think I missed most of it.....

No... There was no Xander in the movie. Nor was there a Willow. Buffy fell for a guy named "Pike," who was played by Luke Perry.

Well, a little. In the movie Pike has brown hair and Xander's is black and kind of messy and she never falls for Xander...

I was wondering: you know people say Chlarkers like me are a hopeless cause.......was there something similar on 'Buffy'??? Was there a strong Xander/Buffy camp, for instance? Were they as crazy as the Chlarkers on SV?!? I mean, Xander/Buffy was kind of a possibility from the very beginning, just like Chlark.......but I guess there might not have been the annual kisses.

I brought up a while ago, that Spike and Buffy are almost the same as Chloe and Clark. Spiked loved Buffy but Buffy was all Angel:rolleyes: just like Chloe is in love with Clark but he loves Lana:rolleyes: :\ . The only real difference is Buffy and Spike did have a thing, was it love? Who nows:confused: Maybe Clark will finally open his eyes and see Choe for who she really is, his true LOVE!!!:D

Yeah, I think I read that on the IMDB boards, or something. After I got done laughing my @ss off, I began to wonder WTF were these people thinking?! Kristy Swanson better than Sarah Michelle Gellar?! Kristy Swanson's Buffy isn't even the same league as Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy. Swanson's Buffy was pretty much an air-head bimbo, whereas Gellar's Buffy was strong, intelligent, opinionated, and a fighter. Well, at least the movie paved the way for the far superior TV show.

The xuffy camp was never as strong as chlark. Chlark and xuffy were both around from the start of their shows, but xuffy went away. He asked her out in season 1 and she turned him down, since then both characters have fallen in love with new people in their lives (from mid season 2 onwards), and the xuffy was forgotten by the writers and the shippers. Whereas the chlark thing is still unresolved.
It seems to me that people want chloe and clark to be together for reasons that don't apply to xuffy - chlarkers want chloe to be with clark as a way of securing her place in superman's future and keep her alive, since she isn't in the comics or movies (no need for that on buffy because it wasn't a prequal to anything); clark and chloe work together very closely and in later seasons its often just the 2 of them (whereas buffy was always about the whole gang) and chlarkers think chloe deserves better that being just a friend when she's constantly helping clark (whereas xander was usually the weakest in the group and therefore helped the least - fans never beleived xander was treated badly by buffy).

This movie had one of the best lines ever
"I am immortal, I can do anything"
Buffy-"Oh, yeah. Then clap!"
Loved this movie..and IMO, Kristy would beat the hell out of Sara. But, I guess I'm just old school like that.

Actually, that's not true, at least not for me and the other Chlarkers I know. We want Chlark to be together cause that's the best thing for Clark himself and his development. To be with the person who cares most about him and his destiny (and probably the person he cares about the most, if he was honest....).
Oh ok. Forgive me, I'm still trying to figure chlarkers out. :)
Well anyway it still didn't apply to xuffy.
