Awww how sad! RIP. :(
Sad but true, I think it was only a matter of time. When you're doing such crazy things with unpredictable animals, you're just asking to be killed. However, I do feel sorry for his wife and child.
At least he lived a very exciting life.

Poor Steve. I use to watch his show all the time on Animal Planet. He left behind two children, and a wife. He really did a lot for wildlife, and to emphasize the importance of our environment.
He left behind a legacy and will be missed.

That's a real shame, but sadly, I knew it was going to happen sooner or later.
He was always pushing the limits of human/ wildlife interaction. I always expected it to be a croc or a tiger or something that would get him.
He brought alot of attention to our environment, & animals. I liked watching him on Animal Planet too.
Goodbye Steve.....you will be missed. :(

I used to watch him a few years back-he was very cool-resourcefull-energenic-its sad-but like his partner said-he knew the risks and if he had to go he went the way he would have wanted-doing what he loved.
i love u tom

Steve Irwin was a hero of mine. May he rest in peace. He did a lot for conservation and the animals he loved. His loss is deeply saddening and will leave a hole that will never be filled in Zoology.

my girlfriend told me the news the day it happened. it's a sad day for everyone.
someone pointed out earlier that "it was only a matter of time", and i know accidents happen, but for someone that's been wrestling crocodiles since he was young and for someone that was living for the conservation of these animals, his death doesn't seem fitting.
my prayers go out to his family and friends.

Man this man was idol....ive been cryin since i found out...the day it happened
but i read somethin what Steve said..he quoted
"i always have my camera crew filming.. so if i would ever happen to die doing something..i would be SAD if people didnt get to see what happened"
and i also know that he was making a movie ..so his camera crew was there..
But wouldnt you guyz think that a crocodile would like killl him...but you would of never thought that a STINGRAY would
??
but what i also read was that his Wife, daughther and son..were gone when this happened to him..they were in Tasmania
(if you guyz wanna know anything else bout him..or on the attack just Pm me)
Man im sure gonna miss him...

The man was a God and I don't care what the critics have to say about him. He did more than anyone in history as far as conservation awareness not only for Australia's native fauna but for the world's. Say what you want about the Croc Hunter, he died doing what he loved. We should all be so fortunate when the time comes.

Steve Irwin is one of my heroes in life. Equal to Christopher Reeve and Bill Clinton (bite my ass). I've lost two of them.
A week later, I'm still crying over it. Especially now, since, as a journalist, I just wrote an editorial about all he's meant to me and my little brother who's grown up watching him (my bro was born in '96).
