Okay, for all of you who have read my story, "I want to feel you", here's an edit for it. Reading it over, I realized that I had no idea what to with it. So, I'm editing the story, and well, that's that. Don't bother reading the other version.
Chapter ONE
"Lex, I don't know what to do", Lana complained. "I love Clark, but he's been so distant lately... I'm afraid he doesn't love me anymore".
Lex put down his glass of wine, and walked over to sit next to Lana. He put a hand on her shoulder.
"Lana, I'm sure it's just a phase", Lex reassured. "What if our whole relationship is 'just a phase'?", Lana asked.
She turned her head to look at Lex. They were unbelieveably close. Lana thought about Clark. His voice, his smile, his beauty. but then she thought about all of his lies.
Lana kissed Lex. She grabbed his shirt collar and kissed him passionately.
------------------------------------------------------
Lana arrived at the loft. She called Clark earlier, to tell him she needed to talk. Clark knew he couldn't lie to her anymore, but he had to.
"Hi Clark", Lana said, after staring at him.
Clark turned. "Hey". He let out a weak smile.
"I needed to talk to you".
"You told me. What is it?", Clark asked, knowing what she was going to say.
Lana swallowed hard. "Do you love me, Clark? Can you honestly tell me that you want to spend the rest of your life with me?", she questioned him.
"I don't need to answer that. I mean, you already know the answer to that", Clark replied. He looked deep into her eyes. "Yes".
Lana sighed. "Then why don't you tell me your secret?".
"Lana, I-", Clark began, cut off by Lana.
"Want to protect me, I know. But all you're really doing is pushing me away", Lana admitted. It had been the first time she had done that. "It's like you won't even try to have me".
Clark sighed. He held his breath for a few seconds, hoping to suffocate himself, even though he knew nothing could happen.
"I can't tell you, Lana. I'm sorry", Clark said. "Why?", Lana asked. "Why can't you tell me? Do you know what this tells me? This tells me that you don't love me enough to be honest with me!", Lana exclaimed.
Clark fought back her anger. "Well, do you know what this tells me?; that you don't love me enough to wait!".
Lana stepped back. "I can't believe you just said that". "Lana, wait, I'm sorry", Clark apologized.
"No, don't be. Clark, I think I've been patient enough", Lana paused. "It's over, Clark".
Lana walked down the steps, and Clark watched as she did so. Lana stepped off the last step, thinking it seemed steeper than before. A tear rolled down her cheek. She wiped it off.
