Yeah, luckily Toronto's temperatures have gone up a bit, it's -16 C today. And the snow we have! This is the most snow this part has seen since around 1998, there's at least 60 cm. My friends and I are going tobogganing on Sunday, when it'll only be -1 outside. Hopefully then some of the snow will ice over making the roads unsafe and school will be cancelled on Monday

Like Sian Raven im in the UK waiting for possible snow in the next few days. The problem with the UK is that were never prepared for bad weather and when it comes, trains stop running and the roads become so dangerous - the whole country nearly comes to a standstill!

My son, my new puppy and I went for a walk in the park by our house this morning (I'm in northern Virginia just outside of D.C.) and my son and Charlie (my dog) kept racing eachother to the frozen puddles and sliding and falling across them. It was funny to watch them, but we all got super cold really fast (it was 15 degrees for pete's sake!) so we hustled home and had some hot chocolate (except for Charlie).

We are supposed to get a dusting of snow tonight (maybe about an inch) then between 4-8 inches on Sunday, then sleet/snow mix on Monday. Kids are excited even though they don't have school Monday and Tuesday (teacher workdays). Even still, it'll be fun for them to go out and play.

Well i was hoping we would have a snowfall for Thanksgiving and we got it!Up till early this aft. they were predicting maybe an inch-then all of a sudden they put out a winter weather advisory which then became a winter storm watch(thou for my area its only2-3 inches)-but further north and west they are expecting 6-8 inches.I am watching it snow right now.I live on the 2nd floor and have a big window right next to my computer-which gives me a nice view of things. The wind is howling' the snow is falling,Im chillin with a few brewskis-lookin forward to a great holiday meal-what more can anyone ask?

Snow in Chicago is great especially with all the stores down town and the beautiful decorations. I highly recommend going to see the Marshall Fields window display.
Once Christmas passes though it becomes miserble.
If you get chance I would suggest the Morton Arboretum espcially after a fresh snow.
Once January comes though ug.

Edit
I am going on the basis you haven't been in Chicago long enough for the snow. So if you have done this all already sorry for the repeat

I had been visiting my relatives in Iowa while on break from school and work during the past month. The December temps were right around average for that time of the year.

During the first week of January we had freezing rain and a 15-inch snowstorm. I don't mind shoveling snow, but when there's ice beneath it, it's not a fun task - especially when working on my parents' long driveway.

I flew to El Paso (just south of where I live) on Monday night. As I got off the plane and waited outside for my friend to pick me up, I enjoyed the warmer temperature. It was about sixty degrees after 10pm and it felt like paradise after a month of the cold midwestern temps.
