This is a hard question to answer, because If I got through season 4 and the episode Reckoning then I think I can get through anything. Some of this stuff will probably end up happening anyway. The red jacket will still be around, Clark will still whine about his responsibilites, Lionel and Martha *might* end up together, etc.

Of course this:

Clark and Lana get back together.

would probably end up breaking me.

Lex's secret NAMBLA connections are revealed.

The Clana definately needs to stay dead and buried. The thing that has bugged me about it, is the fact that Lana is supposed to be Clark's high school sweetheart and Clark graduated two seasons ago. It is time for him to move on already. I am hoping that they turn Lana somehwhat darker and evil from being around Lex. If Lana became more of a villain like character, I could actually find her somewhat interesting.

You should read Allison Mack's latest interview from TV Guide. Besides suggesting that Chloe get a boyfriend this season, she hints that Lana is going to turn darker and be the one to manipulate Lex, rather than the other way around. I think you're going to get your wish.

Yeah, I think I'm in for the long haul at this point. I probably wouldn't buy a season if it were really bad but... I'd probably watch it... sporadically...

The only reasons I can imagine would make me stop watching are Shelby's puppies and Martha stripping. Otherwise, I'll continue to enjoy the show, through the good moments and the not-so-good ones.

And it ain't going away anytime soon, at least that's what I got from watching one of the special features clips from the upcoming season five DVD. Check out the clips from the season five DVD set on the news page, specifically "Behind The Scenes At The Fortress - With Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk & the costume designer", where one of the costumers describes how they create the red jackets from beige coats, dye them red and modify the collars. She goes on to say that anytime one is burned or damaged they have to make some new ones, so it looks like the red jacket is never going to go away. :(

I'd have to say Clark not accepting his responsibilities. I would have normally choose Clark & Lana hooking up again, but I don't think TPTB are that stupid when there are at most 2 seasons left of this show (6 & 7). This season should have Clark taking huge steps towards his 2 futures (Superman & journalism). Lois should also take a huge step toward her future. Maybe she can write an article about her kidnap experience with Martha at the hands of Milton Fine.

Speeding like a fool she runs over Chloe who's leaving the DP to cover a news leak that Senator Kent is doing a private strip tease to get Lionel in the sack. You forgot the part where Clark trades his red jacket for a red leather jacket and yells "Ehhhh!!!!!" while jumping over k-powered sharks while losing his powers and making Lex & Lana believe he's normal. Oh and you also forgot about how after he gets eaten by the sharks, Jor-El brings his pieces back and sacrifices Martha in exchange for his life, which makes him lose Chloe to Whitney, who's back from the dead.

It's the bestest episode ever!!

At the end of Season 3, when Chloe "died" I was like "thats it, Im not watching it anymore!" Yet here I am lol :)

So like I said, I would still watch it, but wouldnt enjoy it as much I dont think.

Ugh, they'are ALL too repulsive to consider. To tell you the truth, if they continue to go in the direction they're going, they may lose me anyway. None of those bizarre things have to happen, well the Lex and the NAMBLA thing is just too, too sick, and would make me not only stop watching, but hurl as I was changing the channels.

To me, the show just can't continue on in this vein. This very thread demonstrates that there are just SO MANY things that are becoming very irritating with this show.

I would love to see Martha and Lionel get together. After everything she's been through, Martha deserves some happiness-even if its with Lionel.

And, I agree, Chloe seems to be the 'omnipitent being' of Smallville, nothing happens that she doesn't know, or can't figure out. I mean, Clark becomes and award-winning journalist, he should be able to figure this stuff out for himself.

I will stop watching Smallville if the season opener Zod goes down the old boring predictable route and resolves every crisis in the space of an episode yet still finds the time to introduce Jimmy Olsen!
There are a few questions I would like to have answered in Zod as in previous openers there have been important events that have been totally forgotten and never mentioned again.
1. How did Zod exist in the Phantom Zone?
2. Where did Brainiac vanish to? are we supposed to believe that he would not stick around at his masters side?
3. How did Zod know too keep the appointment with Lana atop the Luthorcorp building when it was Lex that arranged it?
4. How is it that Zod and his followers have access to the phantom zone?

Chloe pushing up daisies and a Clana reunion is what the majority fear most this coming season. Agreed. The only other thing which I'm sure will be mishandled [if it could be handled correctly anyway] is the looming Lionel/Martha action, which pleaseZodno - she only recently lost her husband and shouldn't even be contemplating this for a long time.

lana being an evil character would be amazing but they cant do it
she eventually becomes a keeper of his secret in the mythos, not to mention marrying pete ross who is lex's VP til he's impeached...

what would hook me for life is if they used characters we could care about...at this pt. there are only 2 chars who can be put believeably into danger...we know that clark, lana, lex, lois, jimmy, and ma kent all live in the mythos for years and years....
so that leaves us chloe and lionel...by far the show's strongest characters

I don’t think I will ever stop watching Smallville until it is finished. But I would like the following to happen. Lana finding out Clarks secret, and hiding it from Lex. So that the atmosphere between them can change to friendship instead of “I HATE YOU, YOU BROKE MY HEART” If Chloe dies, I will be sad and very angry with the Directors.

If the show continues down the path that it's on currently. I hate these fill in episodes and the fact that week in and week out they concentrate on everyone/something else other than the development of their main character (Clark).

NOTHING could instantly make me stop watching the show, but among the things on your list that I hope I never see ... Lionel & Martha hookup (yuck), Chloe killed (it serves no purpose), Krypto-pups (lame), and/or Clark & Lana back together (they should be friends now, but not lovers).

Other things that I don't want to see, not on your list ... Lex & Lana stay together (bitter breakup time), and/or Lana has a baby (wha?!).

I also don't think they should have introduced sex into the show, at least not with Clark and Lana. They should not be having sex, with each other, or with anyone. It taints their character, I think. Chloe is new, so she's fair game. Lois can have a wild, sorted past if it doesn't go too far, and Lex should always be a playboy.

And before it becomes an issue, I don't think Martha should ever get down with anyone, ever again! She should not betray Jonathan like that.

I have no problem with sex, mind you (and I have the hard drive to prove it), I just don't think Clark and Lana should have ever gone there.

Here's my take on the poll.
Wearing his red jacket, Clark reveals Lex's Nambla connection and Lana dumps him to run back to Clark. Speeding like a fool she runs over Chloe who's leaving the DP to cover a news leak that Senator Kent is doing a private strip tease to get Lionel in the sack. Meanwhile, Clark alone in his loft moans about his powers and responsibilities waiting for Shelby to deliver Zod's K-powered puppies. Lois drops by to brag about dumping her Fusion for a Harley. Lana overhearing misunderstands thinking Clark is the hog she's been riding. Lana complains about secrets and lies and again Clark won't reveal his secret, that Lana is bad in bed.

Seeing as I made it this far, nothing. Can't quit now! Even if they got rid of everyone and replaced them with new actors for the last 4 episodes, I'd stick it out. Even if it became the Lana and Lois variety hour. I've made it this far and I can't leave now! :lol: :lol:

But for season 10 I probably would have stopped watching at some point if Oliver wasn't on the show honestly. I'd come in and out and watch some episodes. I love Tess and Lois too, but the episodes this season weren't that great in my opinion.
