Hey, I really liked this video. I wasn't a fan of the song at the beginning, but once it amped up even the music was perfect. You chose some great scenes. I think just about every one of us that have made/will make a Returns video are going to use that bullet to the eye scene. Seeing both Reeve and Routh as Clark Kent and Superman was a bit disorienting at first, but once the video started to crossover between all three incarnations it fit.

Overall a great vid. Thanks for posting.

ETA - And it has inspired me to make yet another SR video. ^^

Hey Tom!!! I liked the video and i didnt! if you know what i mean!

The reason why i didnt is because i like to view these 3 incarnations of Clark Kent/Superman as seperate entitys.....i hope thats what i meant to say anyways...lol i dont really like it when they get thrown into the same video!

Now i liked the video because you chose some great scenes from all three things! and your editing was great!

I loved the bit where you had Christopher Reeve fly down and switched into Brandon Routh going throught the fire!

I would've loved to have seen more of them doing the same thing like flying towards the screen one after the other or somthing but anyways...lol

Loved the ending! i thought you picked great scenes to ened with there!

I really liked the song! i have heard it in another video i think aswell but i cannot remember which one....lol

Loved the bit where you had the barn symbol showing and Clark was looking at it!

All the voiceover stuff was really good too!

Great Work Overall though! i loved your editing, scenes and all good!

I'd love to see a SR video from you though.....but when the DVD comes out ok! lol

Anyways thanks again for the link! Bye

John

Well, glad to hear that you liked the video even though you prefer to watch them as a separate entity.
Ryan used this song on his Journey video and as I was thinking about making this video, this song just seemed perfect for it...So I thank Ryan for the musical inspiration.
Thanks for the compliments and for taking the time to write a feedback.

Yet another great vid from you. Geez I feel like that's all I ever say, but it's the truth. Each new one just puts me in awe.

Nice intro, I missed seeing your superman logo next to your watermark....I was getting used to it.

I loved how you combined the different characters into this vid. Although I have to admit, I'm having trouble getting used to the new one. Anyway onto feedback.

Of course Christopher Reeve is my favorite since Tom isn't really Superman YET. The voiceovers all through were great, you picked some really good ones there.

42 the superman logo was really cool looking. Loved the scene at 58 where Reeve catches Lois in the original. I can still her high pitched voice saying "who's got you" classic moment.

2:56 was cool as well with the burning from the eyes and it showed Clark looking at the barn.

Loved the split screen at 3:24 with Clark and Lois.

5:37 was another very cool part where you had all the Kents past and present in there.

5:58 was another awesome part with the bullet in the eye, that's probably one of my favorite clips from the new movie.

I also loved the ending with all the different sups flying around the globe, great job.

Once again your editing is flawless, scene selection was great.
Thanks again,
Nanette

Wow! I really loved this video! I'd say it ranges in my top 5 favorites! It was spectacular the scene selection was great, the editing was wonderful, and the Jor-El voice overs were fantastic. It actually gave me goosebumps when He said, "I've sent them you my only son." with the clip from Smallville.

Great job! I'm looking forward to your next video!

I gotta admit this kind of bummed me out John.

Did you forget Journey already? :(

Hey Tom,

I just couldn't wait to watch man. This is how much I respect you as a vidder to sit through a video that is 7 minutes plus when I am sick and extremely dizzy.. :D

It is funny because I had never really seen anyone use "23" in a video before aside from myself in my Journey video, and now both you and Holly have used it in videos with SR clips. I have to point this out though. You put "Jimmy Eats World" in your creds by mistake. It is Jimmy Eat World. :D

As always this was an excellent video. I enjoyed it very much. Not only because "23" is my favorite song but also because your editing and scene selection were first rate. The sound quality was awesome by the way. I assume you took my tip of two audio tracks panned left/right? It makes a difference. :)

Some of my favorite parts :

- The bit @ 5:36 when you showed the brief montage of all the various Kents with young Clark being discovered. This image really worked well and was probably my favorite part of the video. Really cool bro.

- Very cool how you had the Superman logo explode towards the screen on cue with the music @ 42 seconds in. It worked really well there because it happened right when the music kicked in.

- Really loved how you used the heat vision scene with the scarecrow from Heat as part of Jor-El's "Even though you were raised as a human being, you are not one of them" voiceover.

- The bit starting @ 2:10 for "No one else will know that part of me" with the FOS discovery scene from Arrival was awesome. Perfect scene for that lyric. Really loved the following scene from the first Superman film for "I'm still driving away" when you showed the tension between Lois and Superman and Supes flew away. Really cool lyric match.

- My favorite part of the song is the very end guitar solo starting @ 6:15 and I loved the montage of all the various flying sequences. Flying scenes work so well with that particular solo. I also really loved how you had the shot with the camera slowly panning up on the "S" from SR when the lyric of "What are you hoping for" hit. Gave me chills.

I only had one gripe with this video. The Jor-El audio track. It was very hard to understand at times. Especially @ 1:23-1:30. I couldn't understand what was being said there at all, accept for "yet discovered" at the very tail end. There were also times when it felt like there was too much space in between phrases. I think it could have flowed just a bit better at times if the phrases were closer together at certain times. There were times when the space really worked. There were just certain times in the video where it felt like it would have worked just a bit better if the audio was closer together and not so spaced out.

***********

Overall though, this was almost a perfect video and I loved it from beginning to end. It was truly a fantastic piece of work and one of my favorites from you. 9.5/10
