I enjoed the 1st film. I dont think I saw the 2nd. They could either ruin this entirely or make it awesome. I hope they do a great job because with the special effects that are available now, it could turn out good. Im not sure about the plot though.

Rafael...it says Raiden summons his Johnny's soul ;)

Big News from Robin Shou
5:59 PM MST - Shinnokxz

"I got the bad news. I won’t be in the next MK. Apparently, Sub-Zero will be the new hero. How’d that come about? No body knows. As if my character never existed. The story supposedly takes place before Lui Kang’s time. A prequel of prequel. I haven’t read the script but the word out there was... bad. I guess that’s why it’s taking this long for it to happen. I guess the main reason was that the producer didn’t want pay the original casts their regular fee so by taking out all of the original characters, replacing with new characters, so they could hire unknown actors for a cheaper price. That’s show biz."

"It is time to move on from MK but of the other hand, I wouldn’t hesitate to play Lui Kang again. And it wouldn't be a step backward, it's actually seeing Lui’s character grow into maybe one of the elder Gods. He definitely has earned it. Yeah, let the fans know. I hope it won't disappointed them too much."

These paragraphs are straight from Robin Shou's (Liu Kang of the two Mortal Kombat movies) personal public relations assistant that were in regards to a fan-made FAQ that was sent to him. It seems to be disappointing news however that seems to sum up well what is happening with the movie. Like always, with a movie this fiscal, things are possible (or bound) to change. We thank Robin and his PR assistant and close friend of the MK3 Movie Page (Kelly, GirlTaz) for the information.

This is also a good time to point out that while I am getting regular E-mails with some bits of news, it's disappointing to report that none of it is.. actual.. news. Guys, I know everyone is desperate for anything, but we've really seen enough of these leaky, random movie information sites reporting rumored dream-cast lists and synopses from daydreaming fans. Or Chris Casamassa doing constant interviews that divulge no real information. This is no longer news, it's beating a dead horse (considering the current state the movie is in- the same state it has been for the past six years- absolutely questionable).

Expect the next update to this website to be something serious and profound from Threshold themselves regarding the existence and future of Mortal Kombat 3. We are currently finished with these rumors and dead-ends. It may take months, it may even take years. But Threshold is bound to crack sometime. I URGE EVERYONE TO WRITE, E-MAIL, TELEPHONE THRESHOLD AND DEMAND A STATUS REPORT ON THIS MOVIE. Their contact information is:

If they can completely turn from the screw up that MKA was then I would definately want to see it. The first one was cool, it was the summer of 95 movie and that was a very good time in my life.

MKA was like a shot in the heart. And if Liu Kang isn't around, It could only be because they are going with the MK Deadly Allience storyline. If that is true then it is not a prequel, and Shang Tsung kills Kang in the begining therefore he is not in it..

It's a toss up movie but I hear they are bringing back Lindon Ashby. Best move they could do.

the first was good and the second seemed kind of amatureish. last i heard the 3rd was going direct to video but thought it came out a long time ago. i havent heard anything about this and 2007 is almost over. im guessing it has been delayed or will be one of those direct to video thats not announced till a month before.

No matter how bad it is... it'll still be better than Street Fighter ;)

The Golden Compass, The Mist, Beowulf, etc. etc.

As always, one (possibly) bad movie doesn't mean nothing good is being made.

Beowulf Beowulf.. a good movie?

Anyways this hasn't been the year for overtly good movies. Besides a couple of indies the only films I seriously thought were great this year so far were The Kingdom and American Gangster. The only movies I really want to see now are I am Legend and Hitman. Another MK movie would only be there to fix the mistake of Mortal Kombat Annihilation. They are going with the Deadly Alliance story line which is a great idea but unless they can pull it off and avoid another MKA I will have to remain skeptical. I want to look forward to it, I really do, but MKA forever hurt my perception of MK movies.

I can't see Hitman and take it seriously because of Tim Olyphantastic.
