Nothing in Vessel makes sense. How does Zod know to keep the appointment with Lana atop the the Luthercorp building? How is Zod released instantly into Lex yet it takes ages for him to be released in Solitude despite them actually being in the Fortress of Solitude at the time? How come Zod and the Kryptonians in Arrival have access to the Phantom Zone through their bracelets. If they can throw people in so easily why can they not exit in the same way? How come neither Brainiac nor Lex or Lana have never questioned or tried to find out what happened to the two aliens in Arrival? Why has Lex not sought out Kal-El the person the two kryptonians were looking for? As Brainiac and the two Kryptonians were travelling together why did they not formulate some kind of plan? Where have they been for the past 16 years anyway? The writing on Smallville gets worse every year.

Agreed the clothes were definitely different, indicating to me, that Zod would have Lex's memories to get to the mansion and change and then get to his meeting with Lana. I don't see how the belt could be Krypton like, even though I know what you mean.

I agree on Lex and Lana should have questioned more about the aliens, but exactly who would they have questioned?

I believed when the stone got human blood on it, the ship was released when the rock broke apart releasing the 3 prior to the meteor shower. If that would be true, then I saw there eyes as being a condition of not having light. Braniac would be different since he is not human or kryptonian. It seemed to me the plan was to look for Kal-el to either trap him or convert him, then Braniac would get involved with releasing Zod. But since the 2 didn't return with Kal-el, it required Braniac researching on his own. What doesn't make sense is that the 2 were willing to trap Kal-el would have directly ruined Braniac's plan to release Zod, that seemed to be an error of TPTB.

As for release of Zod, it would be different based on 2 different approaches. The fortress breaking took time, whereas Braniac accessing the crystals had nothing to slow it down. Hope I helped.

And just one more in Solitude it is suggested that Zod has a body and than he needs a vessel in the final episode.

How many feel that vessel sould have tooken place when solitude did. and Solitude should have been the season finale. With some minor changes though. Brainiac could have found a way to clone zods true body using it as a vessel instead of lex since clark stopped him. Wuoldnt it be a better cliff hanger to have Brainiac putt clark in the phantom zone , and have that black crystal putt into the consul of fortress, destroying it and having zod spirit realeasd going into his cloned body. what a summer to think about if the fortress will survive and how zod will be stopped. anyone else agree

I agree Kal-el 1513. That would have went some way towards making up for a poor season. It could also have meant we get a real General Zod as opposed to another stupid possession storyline. Zod deserves better. Azi makes a good point too and thanks for responding also all about clark but your explanation of Zods quick release still makes no sense. In the early part of the season Brainiac reveals he knows all about Clark and the Fortress implying he has already been there. He would have already tampered with the console or how else could he possibly know that only Clark himself can release Zod.

Zod should be trapped in a chicken meat suit

From what I've read, TPTB thought that season 5 might be the last season, so they pulled out all the stops at the beginning of the year. When they found out they were going to be renewed, they tamped down so they'd have enough material for a new season. If they had known from the beginning that there would be a Season 6, they might have mapped things out differently. I like your idea a lot.
