Now how awesome of a game is starcraft broodwar. It is definately one of the best games ever made.

I agree, Starcraft is one of those games that you never get tired of playing it's simply a cool game

It really is. I mean the game is like 8 years old but the servers are always crowded

The reason I believe it's so successful is because the game is really expansive. You can basically do anything to reach both victory and to be a great ally while in multiplayer.

I can honestly say that when playing 1v1 Zerg can destroy you within the first 5 mins unless your an experienced player.

Now you have Warcraft RoC and TFT instead of Stracraft, which are much better IMO.

I've played both online and it seems to me that starcraft is more speed based where as Warcraft is based on group skills as well as your ability to counter the other team or opponent.

I wouldn't say so, both games are speed based, and both identical in almost every way, with one exception only: in Warcraft the key units are the heroes, and you gotta be very fast in using attack commands, retreat commands, movement and casting spells not only with heroes but with other units too. (in other words its called "micro"). Top Starcraft and Warcraft players have almost the same APM (actions per minute) which is around 250-300. You can visit www.replays.net and www.wcreplays.com and download a couple of replays from teams like 4K, MYM and SK and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Boy, I've been waiting for the 2nd installment since 1999. Only a few more months to go ... hopefully. But I have zero doubts in Blizzard, they always deliver what they promise, which is nothing less than perfect.
