Hi, this is my second fanfic..but this is my first time posting my fanfics here. plz tell me what u guys think and if i should continue

Summary:It's 2016, ten years since Lana last saw Clark. They were high school sweethearts, everybody in Smallville predicted they would one day get married and have kids. They were the perfect couple. That is until graduation arrived. Clark and Lana were both going to different colleges. Which means they had to go their separate ways. It was the hardest goodbye for both of them.

Now living in New York, Clark Kent was one of New York's finest firefighter. He moved to New York for about two years now. He still calls his mom and sometimes visits her in Smallville. He lost touch with Chloe and Lois, but most importantly lost touch with Lana.

What Clark didn't know was that Lana too moved to New York. She lives in a small townhouse with her four year old daughter and husband of 7 years. To people, Lana and her husand would seem like just an ordinary married couple. But outside the public's eyes, Lana and her daughter's life is a living hell.

well there was never any meteor shower. Clark's dad did however die from a heart failure and Lana's parents died in a car crash when she was little

Chapter 1

Lana came home late. She was deathly afraid to show her face to her husband. Lana knew for sure he would be furious. When she got to the door, she just hoped and prayed he was sleeping. When she walked in she found him sitting on the couch with a beer in hand. Lana hates it when she sees her husband drunk, especially when he's around her daughter. But that's not what made Lana afraid of her husband.

John, Lana's husband looked over towards the door and saw it was his wife. He stood up and walked towards the frightened Lana.

Lana just stood where she was. She started to speak in a shaky voice, "Look John, I'm sorry I'm late but I got held up.." She was cut off when John slapped her face, causing her to fall. "Shut Up!" he yelled in a drunk manner. "You get here at the time I tell you to be. Got that?" Lana slowly nods her already reddened face. John thought she hadn't had enough, so he throws his beer aside, and picks her up. Lana's breathing becomes unsteady and her heart begins to pound. She knew what was going to happen next. Her once loving husband slammed her against the wall. "John please." she said trying to calm him down. But he kept going. He then took the back of his hand and swung it across Lana's face causing a minor cut to show. "John please, you're going to wake up Allison." He stopped, looking towards his daughters bedroom. "I'll continue this tomorrow." he said as he walked towards his own bedroom. When he closed the door, Lana burst into tears. 'I can't take this anymore.'

Allison heard someone crying, so she slowly opened her door. There she saw her mother crying. Allison slowly walks over, "Mommy, are you ok?" Lana feels small hands on her cheeks, as she opens her eyes she can see her daughters beautiful eyes starring back at her. "Yeah honey, come on it's late. I'll tuck you in." She slowly stands to her feet, wipes away the tears, wipes away the small drops of blood from the cut, and picks up her daughter. Lana sets down her daughter in her princess themed room. "Okay honey, try to get some sleep okay?" Allison slowly nods her head. As Lana walks out she heard her daughter call out, "Mommy, did daddy make you cry?" she looks at her daughter and replies, "No sweetie, daddy didn't make me cry." Lana turns off her lights and walks out to the living room. She plops down on the couch, which is also now her bed. Ever since John got abusive, she has been sleeping out in the living room.

Lana hated when her daughter saw her like this. This was not how she planned it to be. Though Lana thought she'd hid this from her daughter, Allison knew that her daddy hits her mom. Sometimes she would even witness it. There was a time where John dragged Lana by the hair towards Allison's room, but she pretended to be sleeping.

"I'm sorry Allison, I'm sorry I've failed you." was the last thing Lana said before she went to sleep.

Across town Clark was in his apartment after coming home from the firehouse. His apartment was the perfect size for a single guy. I know, it's hard to imagine Clark Kent a single guy. Especially when there is not a day that goes by where a girl isn't hitting on him. He would always get yelled at by his friends saying, "That chick was so hot! What were you thinking saying no to her?!" and he would always say, "She's not my type." or "She's not the one for me."

He was on his couch thinking about his day. There were two apartment fires, but there was an upside to it. He had a chance to save a six year old boy. This was his favorite part of the job, its knowing he's able to save and help people. It was just a remarkable feeling. After sitting on the couch for a while he starts to walk towards his bedroom. Clark took off his shirt revealing his nice six pack. Then takes off his pants. He went to bed only in boxers.

ok i wasn't going to post an update cuz i just got back from volleyball tryouts and i just feel so sore!! but i decided to change my mind. (And i still have tryouts tomorrow so i'm not sure if i will update....but just wish me luck...and if i do good you'll have double updates... if you want)

Chapter 2

Allison was the first to wake up. She decided to go out to the living room so she can watch some cartoons. She stopped when she saw that her mother was still soundly asleep on the couch. Usually Lana is awake before anyone else. But yesterday was brutal for her.

Allison slowly walked towards her mom. She started to rub Lana's face with her small hands. Slowly Lana opened her eyes, a smile appeared on her face when she saw her beautiful daughter. "Hey honey." she said softly. "Hi." Allison said. Lana sat up and picked up her daughter. She set her down on top of her lap. Since Lana didn't have a job, she spent all her time with Allison. Actually before Lana had Allison, she worked as a fashoin designer, but had to quit when John found out that she was making more money than him.

It was 7 a.m. and Lana was in the kitchen preparing breakfast. While Allison was watching cartoons she heard the shower start. 'John must be up.' she thought as she looked at the door that was once her bedroom.

Breakfast was done and both Lana and Allison were sitting at the dinning table silently eating their breakfast. Just then the bedroom door opens and out comes John in a suit and tie. He walks towards the table and starts to look at each and every single thing Lana had cooked. "What is this crap?" he asked. "It's breakfast." she said softly without looking up. "Whatever, I'll just eat on my way to the office." With that he walked out the door. Lana was thankful about that. Usually there would be yelling and arguing. This is what would be considered a miracle.

After cleaning up, Lana decided to call her best friend Jennifer who also used to be her co-worker.

Lana dialed her number and waited until she picked up.

Jennifer-Hello
Lana-Hey Jenn, it's me.
Jennifer-Hey Lana, it's been a while since you last called. Is everything ok?

Jennifer was one of the few people that knows how John really is.

Lana starts to tear up.

Lana-Umm.. to be honest, not really.
Jennifer-Oh no, what'd he do?
Lana-Umm.. well yesterday I came home late and I found him drinking. He slapped me two times. The second one caused a cut to appear on my face. Then he slammed me against the wall.
Jennifer-God Lana, I don't know why you just don't call the cops.
Lana-I know, but what if after he gets arrested he'll come after me and Allison. At least this way I can get him to stop.
Jennifer-But Lana, this isn't what marriage is about. It's about love and love doesn't hurt, especially physically.
Lana-I know
Jennifer-Well you know you're always welcome at my house.
Lana-Thanks.

Just then Lana hears Allison calling for her in the bedroom.

Lana-Hey Jenn, I gotta go.
Jennifer-Okay bye.
Lana-Bye

Lana hung up and headed towards Allisons room. When she opened the door she saw that Allison was all dressed up. "Umm sweetie, what are you doing?" she asked. "Mommy, can we go to the park?" Allison asked. "Oh honey, you know that daddy doesn't like it when we go out." "Please." she pleaded, giving her the best puppy dog eyes she can come up with. Lana couldn't say no to that, she was a sucker for the eyes, and Allison knew that. "Alright." "Yes." she said excitedly.

It was rare for her and her mom to be outside the house, but today she was going to take advantage of it.

hey guys...well volleyball wasn't really good today. alot of people got very angry cuz alot of the players got cut so i'm not realli in a good mood today...but i guess i should juss update


Chapter 3

Lana and Allison got back from the ice cream parlor and were now heading towards the front door. Lana had been having so much fun with her daughter that she lost track of time. It was already night time. They had been out the whole day.

When Lana opened the door, her smile faded when she saw an angry John. "Oh no" she mumbled. She puts Allison down from her arms and says, "Honey, why don't you go to your room." "OK" she replied. Once Allison closed the door to her room, John walked towards Lana. "Look John , I'm sorry but..." John didn't want to hear any of it instead he just grabbed her head and slammed it against the wall. She fell to the ground but John just picked her right up. He grabbed her arm and dragged her across the living room. "Get up!" he yelled. Lana was in to much pain to get up. So John started to kick her in the stomach many times. All Lana can do was scream in pain.

What the two adults didn't know was that this whole time Allison was watching. She finally ran to her dad. "Daddy! Stop it! You're hurting mommy!" she yelled trying to get him to stop. John just pushed his four year old daughter aside causing her to fall backwards. "Owwww!" she cried. This was when Lana got up and threw a glass vase at John's face. John fell down as Lana limped to her crying daughter. She picked her up and ran outside to the car. Lana strapped Allison in her car seat then got in the drivers seat.

Lana didn't know where to go. She tried to call Jennifer but she wasn't picking up. She turned around and saw Allison with tears still in her eyes. "Allison, sweetheart, how 'bout we go back to the park." Allison didn't say anything, she just kept looking out the window.

It was about 8:30 p.m. when they arrived at the park. Lana and Allison just sat on a park bench in silence. 'I don't know what to do anymore. I don't want this for Allison'

Clark's Apt.

Clark had just arrived home from work. They let him out early because the firehouse already had enough guys. 'What am I suppose to do?' He decided to turn on the tv, but turned it back off when he didn't find anything good. He walked over to his window that over looked the whole city. He looked across the street and saw that it was a park. 'Hmm, I guess I can take a walk across the park' He headed out the door.

After spending about an hour at the park, Lana decided she would go to Jennifer's place. She had Allison in her arms as they started to make their way back to the car. Lana was in deep thought but was interrupted when she bumped into someone. It was dark so Lana couldn't really see the mans face. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't watch where I was going." The man looked down at her and replied, "No, it was my fau-" the man suddenly stopped. Until he said, "Lana?"

sorry for the lack of updates but i just had soo many finals stuff i needed to take care of...i'm almost done and decided to take a break to give u guys an update!

Chapter 4

Lana can recognize that voice anywhere, she looks up and says, "Clark?" Both Lana and Clark moved aside to where they can get enough light to see each others face. Clark's smile faded when he saw Lana's face, it had a big bruise just over her left eye. "Omg, Lana what happened?" Lana didn't really want to talk about it because she knew she would just burst into tears. And she didn't want that. Suddenly a small voice spoke up, "Mommy who's this man." Clark looked down to the little girl and thought 'Oh, she's married?' Clark crouched down to her eye level and introduced himself, "Hello, I'm Clark" he said sticking out his hand for her to shake. "I'm Allison." Clark smiled at how cute the little girl was and how she looked exactly just like her mother. "Well, it's so nice to meet you." Clark heard Allison's stomach grumble. "I'm guessing that you're hungry Allison." All Allison can do was smile in approval.

Lana had been watching the two talk. It amazes her, just two minutes ago her little daughter was crying and now she had the biggest smile on her face. 'John was never like this to Allison.' Her thoughts were interrupted when Clark spoke. "So Lana, if you like, there's a diner just around the corner." Lana just smiled and nodded her head.

The Diner

After eating Clark started to play with Allison, she was laughing so hard because Clark kept making faces at her. Lana hadn't seen her daughter this happy since...never. Lana too was having fun, she was having so much fun that she forgot about the past events that happened. Lana looked down at her watch and saw that it was 10:30, way past Allison's bedtime. "Um sorry to cut this short, but it's way past you're bedtime." Allison started to whine, "Mom, c'mon just a couple more minutes?" "I'm sorry honey, but we have to go."

Clark thought of an idea. "Lana, do you have work tomorrow?" "No." she replied. "Well how bout we go back to my place, you know to catch up." he said with a small smile. Lana didn't know what to say. "C'mon, it's just across the park, and besides you didn't tell me how you got that bruise." Clark gave her the puppy dog eyes. Lana couldn't say no to that.

As they were heading out the diner, Lana was about to pick up Allison, who now fell asleep, but Clark insisted. "Lana, it's ok, I got her." he said. "Are you sure?" she replied. Clark just gave her a nod. 'Good, cuz my stomach is killing me.' she thought.

Clark's apt.

"Umm, Lana if you don't mind, I'll put Allison in my bed so she won't wake up while we talk." he said. Lana turned around to say, "No, that's fine." While Clark headed to his room, Lana saw a mirror on the wall. She decided to lift up her shirt and see if there was a bruise where John had kicked her. And as she predicted, there were three bruises forming around her stomach. Lana heard Clark coming, so she quickly puts her shirt back down, but too late, Clark saw something on her stomach, but wasn't sure what it was.

Chapter 5


"Lana, what was that?" asked Clark. 'Shoot, think Lana think.' "Oh it's nothing." said Lana. Clark starts to walk over to where she was. "No Lana, I'm sure I saw something, and from the look of that bruise, I'm guessing it's another one." 'Damn, he's good.' Lana thought as she lifted up her shirt. Clark was shocked at the sight. He saw about three bruises but if they were any closer, it can form one big one. "Ok, Lana, explain." Clark said in a worried voice. Lana walked over to the couch and Clark followed. Lana took a deep breath, "The bruise...it's from John, my husband." she said without looking up. She was too ashamed to look Clark in the eyes. "Lana, how long has this been happening?" Clark asked. This was when Lana started to tear up, but she tried to be strong. "Umm, for about five years..but it's not like he was like this in the begining, he used to be so loving and caring." she said. Clark lifted her chin so she was looking him straight in the eyes, "Lana people change, I'm just so sorry this is happening to you and Allison." "Clark don't worry about me ok? It's been worse." Lana said. Clark was so angry, he couldn't believe a guy would ever do something like this, especially to his own wife. "Lana, I don't want you going back there, from now on I want you by my side." Clark said. "Oh Clark that's ok, I can stay with a friend, I don't want to be trouble." Lana replied. "Lana, you're the farthest thing from being trouble, besides I wouldn't worry as much if you're here." Clark said with a reassuring smile. "Thanks Clark." Lana said as she leaned over to give him a hug, but stopped when she felt a sharp pain coming from her stomach. Clark looked down as he said, "Maybe I should get you some ice." All Lana did was give him a nod as she kept her hand over her stomach. Clark went over to his freezer to get some ice. When he got back he saw Lana still in pain. "Why don't you lie down." he said giving her the ice pack. "Ok." she said.

Lana slowly puts the ice pack over her swollen bruise. Clark can see that she was in so much pain, so he starts to talk, trying to keep her mind out of the pain. "Lana, Allsion seems like a great girl." Clark said. "She is" Lana said with a smile. "So, Clark what do you do for a living?" Lana asked. "Well, believe it or not, I'm a firefighter." Clark said. Lana was surprised, "Wow! That's amazing!" 'I guess that explains how you got that amazing body!' she thought as she scanned his muscular chest. Clark saw what she was doing and a big smile appeared on his face. "Yeah, it's really great, I mean I get to save people for a living. And plus I get to slide down this awesome pole and wear a really cool hat." Clark said. Lana started to laugh, it was the first time Clark had heard her laugh in years. 'Her laugh is just as beautiful as I remembered.' he thought.

Clark and Lana spent the next few hours talking about everything. Before they knew it, it was already 3 a.m. "Wow, I guess we got carried away, it's already 3 a.m." Clark said as he looked at the clock. "Yeah I guess we did." she replied. "Ok, you can take my bed with Allison and I'll take the couch." Lana looked at him, "No, Clark I can take the couch, it's no big deal." Clark looked at her, "No I take the couch and thats that." Lana knew there was no point in arguing so she just gave in. Lana was having a hard time getting up, so Clark picked her up in his strong arms. Lana smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. Clark kicked the door open as he gently set her down. Clark kissed her on the forehead as he turned of the lamp. "Sweet dreams Lana." Clark closed the door and headed towards the couch. Again he strips down to his boxers and gets under the covers.

Chapter 6

Lana woke up to the smell of breakfast. Slowly she stands up, walks to the door. Once she opens it she can hear laughter. In the kitchen she saw Clark preparing something, and over to the living room, she saw Allison watching cartoons. "Hey, you're awake." Lana looks at Clark and replies, "Yeah, I just had to see where the smell was coming from." Clark smiles as he walks over to the dining room where a whole bunch of food is lined up. "I didn't know what you wanted, so I kinda cooked a little bit of everything." he said. "Wow Clark, this looks great. Thank you." "It was no sweat." he then turned to Allison to call her over. The three sat down to enjoy their meal. Lana couldn't remember the last time she didn't have to cook breakfast. It was always her doing everythig. 'Clark is such a great guy.' "Mommy guess what, Clark said he's going to take us to the zoo." Allison said excitedly. Lana looked at Clark who was looking at Allison. "Clark, don't you have work?" Clark shook his head, "No, I have the day off today, besides I think Allison here deserves to have a little fun." He reaches over and starts to tickle her. Allison was having so much fun with Clark.



The Zoo

Once they got there, Allison started to run in every direction. She has never been to the zoo, so she was very excited to see all the animals. They visited every single animal in the zoo. Now Lana and Clark were sitting down while Allison played in a fountain nearby. "You know Clark, I've never seen my daughter this happy." she turns to look at him, "Thank you, you have been great to the both of us." Clark looks her in the eye, "Lana, you don't need to thank me, I'm happy to do it." They spent a couple more hours before heading back to the apartment.

Allison fell asleep when they arrived. "Wow! I guess I wiped her out." Clark said looking down at the sleeping Allison. "I'm going to put her down in your room." Lana replied. She turns towards the room while Clark sat down on the couch. Seconds later Lana reappered from the room. She walks over and sits next to Clark. "So, Lana what are you going to do with John?" he asked. "I don't know, I'm thinking about divorcing him, but I don't know if he'll go after me and Allison." Clark takes Lana's hands in his, "Lana, that won't happen as long as I'm here." Lana gives him a reasurring smile. Just then Lana's cell phone begins to ring. She saw that it was John calling. She didn't want to talk to him so she just set it back down on the coffee table. But the phone just kept ringing, he kept calling for the past ten minutes. Finally Clark picked it up, Lana was trying to stop him, but he already had in on his ear. "Hello, is this John?" Lana can hear John say something. "Look here, Lana doesn't want to talk to you ok? And if you ever go near her or her daughter I swear to you you'll regret ever hurting the two of them. Got that?" After that he hung up and handed the phone to a very shocked Lana. "I don't think he'll be bothering you anytime soon." he said. Lana just gave him a very big grin. "Thank you Clark."

Chapter 7

Lana was in the living room talking to Jennifer while Clark was at work.

Jennifer-So Lana, how is this Clark guy?
Lana-Umm...well we met back in high school. He was my first serious boyfriend. I guess you can say that we were high school sweethearts.
Jennifer-Well, what happened?
Lana-Eventually graduation came, and we were both going to different colleges. Ever since I haven't seen him till now.
Jennifer-Oh, what does he do now?
Lana-He's a firefighter. (she said in a giddy voice)
Jennifer-What! Are you serious?! Here you are sharing an apt. with a firefighter and you tell me this now?
Lana-What are you talking about? There is nothing going on between me and Clark.
Jennifer-For now.
Lana-Oh gosh
Jennifer-What are you going to do today?
Lana-I'm going over to the firehouse to pick him up then we're going to drop Allison off at your place.
Jennifer-What!? You are going to a place where there are muscular guys walking around in every direction wearing really tight shirts?
Lana-Yup
Jennifer-I'm so jealous.
Lana-Why, it's not like I'm going over there to check guys out.
Jennifer-Mhmm
Lana-Whatever.

The Firehouse.

Clark and his friend Matt were inside the garage talking. "So Clark, when do I finally get to meet this girl you say is the 'right' one for you. Matt said. "I never said that." Clark said. Matt gave him a look, "Ok, maybe once." Just then Lana appeared with Allison. Once Allison saw Clark she ran up to him. "Clark!" He bent down to pick her up. "Hey." Once Lana finally walked up to them Clark turned to his friend, "Matt this is Lana and her daughter Allison." Matt turns to shake her hands. "It's so nice to finally meet you, Clark here has been talking non-stop about you." Lana started to blush as Clark gave Matt a small nudge in the ribs. "Umm.. Lana why don't you wait in the car while I go get my stuff?" he said while handing Allison over to Lana. "Sure, it was so nice to meet you." Lana said before heading out. "Nice to meet you too." He called out. Once she was outside Matt turned to his friend, "Now I can see why you turned all those other girls down, they are no match for Lana." he said. "Hey, watch it." Clark said jokingly.

Clark and Lana were in front of Jennifers house. After a few knocks, a woman aobut Lana's age opened the door. "Hey Jennifer." Lana greeted. "Hey" replied. Lana bent down to Allison's eye level, "Ok honey, I'm going to leave you at Aunt Jenn's for awhile." Allison nodded her head in approval as she walked in the house. Lana turned to Clark "Jenn, this is Clark." Jenn started to lick her lips as she eyed him up and down. "Hey Clark." she said seductively. All Clark did was give a weak smile. Lana was laughing at Clarks reaction. "Ok, well I guess we better go." Lana said as she grabbed Clarks arm and dragged him to the car.

Lana's House

Clark and Lana were now at the front door of her house. Lana was so nervous that she started to shake. Luckily she was here with Clark and she knew he wouldn't let anything happen to her. Lana took a deep breath as she opened the door. Once inside she saw broken glass everywhere and some of the chairs were knocked down. 'Ok Lana just grab what you need and get out.' She was about to go towards Allisons room but stopped when she saw John appear across the room.

Chapter 7 Cont.

Once Lana saw John her breathing became unsteady and her heart started to race. All she did was stare at the man that has haunted her for the past five years. She came back to reality when she felt Clark's strong arms around her. "It's ok Lana, just go grab your things. I'll keep an eye out for him." he said. Lana looked up as she slowly nodded her head. She turned her body as she slowly headed to Allison's room, where luckily she also kept her things there. Lana kept her eyes on John as he did with his. Once Lana was in the room, John turned towards Clark. "I'm guessing you're that dumba** that told me to stay away from Lana." Clark looked at him with a stern face, "That's right." John started to come closer to him, "I guess you forgot, I'm her husband and Allison is my daughter. You can't keep a guy away from his own family." Now they were standing face to face. Fortunately Clark was much bigger than John by a couple of inches. "I can if the guy is an abuser." All of a sudden John took a swing at Clark, causing him to fall. Clark immediately stood up and tackled him to the ground, once on the ground Clark puched John square in the face twice.

In the bedroom, Lana heard a crash. She started to quicken her pace and just started to put random clothes in the bag. When she was done, she saw Clark on the ground bleeding with John walking around him, almost like a predator stalking it's prey. John heard the door open and saw a very scared Lana looking at Clark. John started towards Lana, Lana had nowhere to go. John immediately grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her across the kitchen tile floor. Then he picked her up but stopped when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Clark spun him around and swung his fist right on the nose. John fell on the floor, this was when Clark grabbed Lana's hand and ran towards their car.

In the Car

Clark and Lana were now on their way to Clark's place. Lana called Jennifer and told her to just drop off Allison in the morning. Clark had a cut on his forehead, just above his right eye where John had punched him. Lana wasn't hurt, at least physically. Lana turned to Clark with tears in her eyes. "Clark, I'm so sorry I got you mixed up in this mess. I never meant to." she said in a shaky voice. Clark turned to face her, he took her hand as he said, "Hey, you did not get me mixed up into anything." he said as he softly rubbed her shaking hand. All Lana did was smile. 'He's the sweetest guy ever.'

Clark and Lana had just arrived at Clark's place. Clark sat on the couch as Lana followed. Lana saw the cut on his forehead, so she decided to go get the first aid kit. When she returned she took out alcohol with a small cloth. "Ok Clark, turn this way." Clark did as he was told. "Ouch." he said. Lana stopped, "Oh, I'm sorry." Clark looked into her eyes as she continued. 'Wow, she has amazing eyes. They're so beuatiful.' "There all done." she said smiling. She noticed that Clark was just staring at her, in deep thought. Before she knew it Clark was coming closer. She wasn't sure what to do, but once his lips touched hers, her mind forgot about everything. She just concentrated on the kiss, and how amazing a kisser Clark was. Clark and Lana both fell down on the couch with Lana on the bottom and Clark on top. Lana's hands were traveling under Clark's shirt, while Clark's were around her tiny waist. After a heated kiss on the couch, they both slowly got up and headed towards the bedroom without breaking their kiss. Clark kicked the door close with his foot as Lana led him to the bed. Clark finally broke the kiss to say something, "Lana are you sure about this?" he asked. "I've never been so sure in my life." she said with a smile. After hearing this, Clark once again leaned in for an unforgettable kiss.

Chapter 8

Lana woke up at about 7:30 a.m. Clark was still sound asleep with his arm around Lana's nude body with only a sheet covering the two. Lana had her head rested on his strong chest. A big smile appeared on her face as she replayed the events that had happened last night.

A few minutes later Clark woke up when he felt small fingers tracing his upper body. "Hey." he said rubbing his eyes with his free hand. "Hey" Lana replied as she pushed herself up to give him a good morning kiss. Lana returned to her position as Clark spoke "Lana, last night you were...amazing!" Lana started to blush as she said, "You were amazing too." They stayed in bed for another hour mostly cuddling, but sometimes they would sneak a kiss or two.

Just then Lana and Clark heard a knock on the door. "Omg! It's Jennifer dropping off Allison." she said as she jumped off the bed. She scurriedly ran around the room trying to put some clothes on as Clark did the same. All Lana found was Clarks shirt, so she slipped it on as she headed for the door. Clark just slipped on some shorts and followed Lana. Before Lana opened the door, she tried to look presentable by fixing her hair. "Jennifer, you're here already?" she asked as normal as possible. All Jennifer did was look at her appearance, a smile appeared on her face as she looked back up. "Ooo, you naughty! Now I know why you asked me to drop Allison off in the morning." she said giggling. All of a sudden Clark appeared without a shirt on. Allison immediately ran to him. "Clark, guess what! I drew a picture of you." she said as she showed him the picture. "Wow! This looks great!" he said as he put it on the fridge. When he came back he saw that Lana had already closed the door and that Allison went into the bathroom. Clark walked to Lana and snaked his arms around her waist from behind. Clark rested his chin on her shoulders while Lana had her hands on Clark's arm. 'My life is finally coming back together.' she thought.

Chapter 9


Lana had been so happy ever since she and Clark had been together. It has been such a long time, that she forgot how good it feels to love someone and to have her feelings returned. It's hard to believe that a woman like Lana would ever love a guy like John. But what most people don't know was that he used to be a good, caring, loving guy. I guess you can say he was almost like Clark. He would always look out for Lana, always put his arms around her making her feel beautiful. Maybe that was part of the reason why Lana married him. He reminded her so much of her past. But that all changed.

About five years ago, John worked as a cop. He loved that job. He would always tell Lana all kinds of crazy stories that had happened to him each day. John was very commited to his job, and was commited to his relationship with Lana. One morning when John went to work, he was very surprised when his new boss called him in. He came in a cop and came out a former cop. Yes, John got fired from the only job he loved. He spent all his life dreaming of being a cop, his dad was a cop, and so was his uncle. He wanted to be just like them. That dream all went away with two single words.

What John didn't know was that getting fired had nothing to do with him. It had something to do with his dad.

About seven years ago, John's dad an off duty cop went inside a bank to withdraw some money. When all of a sudden, two people with masks on came in with a gun in hand. They started to yell and threaten everyone in the bank. Of course being a cop, John's father knew it was his responsibility to make sure nobody gets hurt. He decided to draw his gun, one of the gun mans saw him, so he turned his own gun towards him, but too late, John's dad had already pulled the trigger killing him. You see that man was John's boss' friend. Even though he knew that any cop in that position would've done the same thing, he had been holding a grudge all those years.

Unfortunately, Lana and her little daughter had to pay the price. After that whole situation, John turned to alcohol and abuse to num his pain. He had a lot of trouble controlling his anger. He used to always lash out at Lana of every single thing she did wrong, even when she was pregnant.

Lana wanted to leave him, but she couldn't. Everytime she would try to get him to sign the divorce papers he would always refuse. After awhile she just gave up. But that was only part of it. The other part was that she kept trying to convince herself that the John she met and fell in love with was still in there....somewhere.

thanks for the comments. Sorry bout the lack of updates but everyone has been using the computer. Here's a quick update! i noe this is short but i will post the other in like five minutes



Chapter 10

Clark and Lana were both sitting on the couch watching tv. Clark and Lana had his arm around Lana while he had the remote on the other. Lana on the other hand had both her feet up with her head resting on his shoulders, trying to get close to him as possible. After awhile Clark finally put down the remote and turned his attention to Lana. "Ok it's official, there is nothing good on tv." he said looking down at her. "Thats ok, we can find something else to do." she said seductively. Clark can see what she was doing, so he decided to play along. "What did you have in mind?" Lana gave him a smile as she pulled herself up. The kiss started out slow, Lana had her hands on Clarks legs while Clark had one of his hands on Lana's cheek.

Clark started to move in a more comfortable position, of course being careful not to break the kiss. He ended up having his back against the armrest with his legs up, while Lana was in between.

Lana decided to intensify the kiss. She wanted Clark's tongue to fight with hers. Then she moved her hands from his thighs to his shirt. Her hands traveled up and down, caressing all his muscles. Clark let out a faint moan while he kept his hands around her waist.

Pretty soon, Lana was able to lift Clark's shirt off. She was now completely on top of Clark. Lana was working on his belt when the phone rang. Clark sighed in defeat. "Why does this always have to happen?" he said as a smiling Lana reached over her shoulders to grab the phone. "Hello?" Lana asked as she answered the phone. "Lana, it's me Jenn." Lana went back on top of Clarks chest, "Hey what's up, how's Allison?" she asked. "She's good, what time do you want me to drop her off?" she asked. Lana looked over at Clark, "Umm... Clark and I are going to dinner, so how about around nine." "That's no problem." she replied. At this moment Clark started to suck on her neck. Lana closed her eyes and let out a small moan. She forgot that Jennifer was still on the other line. "Okay, I'm going to hang up now and let you guys go back to what ever you two were doing." Lana quickly opened her eyes, "What do you mean?" she asked kind of embarrased. "Oh c'mon Lana, I can practically hear the slurping noises." she said laughing. Lana's face suddenly turned a shade of red. "It's ok, I'll call you later?" Jennifer said. "Yeah, ok." she said as she hung up. When she put the phone down she turned to a smiling Clark. Clark knew that it was Lana's weakness whenever he sucked on her neck. "Clark!" she said as she threw a pillow at him.

Chapter 10 Continued (This part has some mild violence towards the end.)

Clark and Lana had just finished dinner early and were now walking up the stairs. They still had about 30 minutes until Jennifer dropped Allison off.

When Clark and Lana reached the door, they had an unpleasant surprise. In the dark stood a very scared and insane John. Lana froze, terrified about why John was here and how he found out she was staying here. Clark stepped in front of her protectively as Lana held onto his hand. "What are you doing here." Clark said forcefully. John stepped a little closer to the light, while both Clark and Lana backed away. "Lana, you need to stop this and come home." he said. Lana saw that he had a couple of cuts on his arm and face. "No, I'm not going anywhere with you." she said a little frightened. "Lana, please, I'm your husband. I really miss you and Allison. Please." he said with pleading eyes. This time Lana stepped a little closer, "No John, living with you was hell. And I don't want to go back to that." she said confidently. "No Lana, I've changed. Just please, give me another chance." he said looking into her eyes. Lana looked at Clark and then at John. "I'm sorry John, but I have given you so many chances and you blew it." After she said John got very angry. He reached over at the phone that was right next to him and threw it against the wall. Lana let out a small scream while Clark just kept a stronger grip around her small frame. "This was not how it was suppose to happen!" he shouted at her. "We were suppose to be a happy family. Now that I'm trying to get my family back together you're just thinking about yourself. What kind of wife or mother are you? How can you be so selfish?" Lana just looked at him with utter shock and disgust. "What kind of mother am I? What kind of father are you?" she screamed back. "I'm not the one who beats the person they claim to love in front of their child! I'm not the one who pushed my daughter to the ground just so you can beat me some more."

"OUR daughter!" he said. "Just because you share the same dna doesn't mean she's your daughter." she shouted back. John got really frustrated, this was when he pulled out the gun from his back and pointed the gun at Lana. Clark saw this so he grabbed Lana and wrapped his arms around her covering her whole body. Lana heard the trigger go off. She turned to Clark who was slowly dropping to the ground. She saw that he was shot in his upper back. "Omg! Clark!" she said as she sat by his side holding his hand. Clark looked up at her tear stained face, "I love you." he said before blacking out. Then she heard John's voice. "I guess you got what you wanted." he said as he pulled the gun to his head.

Chapter 11

Lana had called 911 and was now at the hospital waiting room. It has been hours since they took him to surgery. She called Jennifer and told her about Clark. Lana told her to just drop off Allison in the morning because she didn't want Allison to see this.

'How could I have let this happen. If it wasn't for me, Clark wouldn't be in the hospital fighting for his life. I'm so stupid. I can't believe I got him involved.' Her thoughts were interupted by a voice. "Ms. Lang?" the doctor asked. "Yes." she said in a shaky voice. "Is he going to be alright?" The doctor spoke, "Yes, we just finished with surgery and he was fine. Right now we gave him a room which he will stay in for a week to recover." Lana gave out a sigh of relief. "Can I see him now?" she asked."Yes, but we gave him some medicine. So, he will probably be asleep." he said. "That's ok."

The doctor showed her the room before he went to another patients room. Lana looked at him. He looked so weak yet peaceful. Lana looked around the room, it was pretty big. There was a couch, a small table and two chairs. She picked up the chair and set it down next to Clark's bed. She slowly reached for his hands. "Clark I'm so sorry about this. I shouldn't have involved you. I wasn't thinking about the consequences. I'm just so sorry." she sobbed.

Lana spent the whole night talking to Clark, even though she knew he couldn't hear a single word. It was now really late and Lana was very tired but she wanted to keep an eye on Clark. Soon her eyelids just got too heavy for her to keep it open.

Chapter 11 Continued

Clark groggily opened his eyes to the rays of the sun shining throught he slightly opened window. Clark felt a small sharp pain on his back. He suddenly remembered everything. He remembered John with a gun pointed at Lana. He remembered falling to the ground in so much pain. He remembered saying 'I love you' to Lana. The last thing he remembered was seeing Lana's tear stained face hovering over his body.

He felt a small hand grasping his big one. When he looked down he saw Lana sleeping soundly on a chair with her head rested on the bed holding hands with Clark. A small smile appeared on his face. He reached over with his other hand to caress her face. 'She's so beautiful.' he thought.

Lana felt a hand gently rubbing her face. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up. She saw Clark with a goofy smile on his face. "Clark!" she said as she jumped into his arms. "Hey" he said softly. Once they parted Lana started to get teary. "Clark, I was so scared! I thought I lost you." she said looking away. Clark lifted up her chin making her look at him. He took his thumb and wiped away the tears that fell from her angelic face. "It's okay Lana, I'm here." he said. "I'm no going anywhere." Lana looked at him with a scared look. "Clark I was so scared. This whole thing wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for me. I'm so sorry I had to drag you into this. I'm so stupid." she said again looking away from his face. "Hey.." he said as he grabbed her head gently "You are not stupid. None of this is your fault." Lana still didn't look at him, she was too ashamed. "Look at me." Clark said. Lana still refused, "Lana.." he said as he softly grabbed her face. Clark started to lean his lips towards her awaiting ones. Their kiss was short but it was long enogh to show Lana how much Clark really loves her.

When they were done Clark held Lana's hand, his thumb gently rubbing her index finger. Clark had a small amount of pain in his back but didn't show it because Lana would just worry.

hey im juss gettin ready for the party im havin at my house for the fourth of july so i thought i should leave a quick update!

Chapter 12


Jennifer arrived at the hospital with Allison in her arms. She walked up to the front desk and asked, "Excuse me, but do you know where Clark Kent's room is at?" The nurse took a second to look at a clipboard and replied, "Yes, he is in room 304." Jennifer thanked the lady and headed to the elevator. Once outside the elevator, she walked through the halls trying to find his room. When she arrived she saw Lana sitting besides a sleeping Clark. She quietly opened the door while Allison stayed by her side. "Mommy." she said as she ran up to her. "Hey baby, I've missed you." she said hugging her little daughter very tight. Jennifer slowly walked up to her best friend. "Hey, how's he doing?" she asked as she rubbed Lana's back. "Umm...he's doing good." she replied back. Meanwhile Allison walked to the other side of the bed and gently touched Clark's hand. "What happened mommy?" she said as she looked at Clarks face. Lana didn't know what to say. She didn't want her to know that he was shot. She walked over to Allison and picked her up "Sweetie, Clark just got into an accident. He will be fine." Allison looked to Clark "Are you sure?" she asked. Lana looked at her little daughter, "I'm sure."

It has now been a couple of hours since Jennifer arrived with Allison. Jennifer left an hour ago. Lana had explained everything to Jennifer, from Clark being shot to John killing himself.Jennifer was just so shock. She felt sorry that her friend had to witness a thing like that.

Now Lana was watching Allison color. She heard movement coming from Clark's bed. She saw that he was starting to wake up so she went over. "Hey sleepyhead." she said as she brushed away some of his hair on his forehead. "Hey." he said weakly. Lana saw that Clark had lost some of his weight and that he looked very thin then usual. "Clark, you don't look so good. Why don't you eat something." she said with worried eyes. "I'm not hungry." he said. Lana was about to say something when she heard Allison call his name. "Clark! You're awake!" she said as she ran up to his side. Clark looked over at the smiling four year old. "Yeah!" Allison reached as high as her tiny little legs would let her to hold his hand. All Clark did was give her a weak smile. "Honey, why don't you go back to your coloring." she said as she bent down to her eye level. Allison smiled and nodded her head. Lana stood back up and looked at Clark. He was trying his hardest to keep his eyes open but he was just to weak. "Clark, honey why don't you back to sleep. You need to rest." she said as she gave him a peck on the lips.

hey im sorry for the short updates but whenever im on the comp...i barely have any time since there is onli one in my house and alot of ppl needing to use it...but since u guys asked i'll give u a whole bunch of chapters right now

Chapter 13

Clark had been at the hospital for about 2 days now and is going home today. Lana never left his side, Clark insisted for her to go home but she was just too worried.

Clark was getting better and better each day. He's starting to eat the same amount of food he did before which means he's starting to gain back strength and energy. The pain in his back was gone.

Clark and Lana were talking when the doctor came in. "So Mr. Kent, how do you feel?" the doctor asked. "I feel great." he said with a smile. "Okay, then I guess you are ready to come home." the doctor replied. Both Clark and Lana were ecstatic that he was finally going to come home. The doctor raised up a finger, "But you will have to get plenty of rest for the rest of this week. Which means you should take it easy. No lifting any heavy objects or anything that requires you to use your back." Clark got disappointed when he heard this. He planned on coming home, do his normal routine, and most importantly go back to his job. He was so tired of just laying around doing nothing.

"Okay." Clark said acting childish. "Okay, I'm just going to need you guys to fill out some forms and you can be on your way."

Clark's Apt.

Clark, Lana and Allison had just arrived home from the hospital. Clark slowly got up to pick up the remote. Lana saw this and quickly ran to him, "Clark what are you doing? You know the doctor said to take it easy." she said. "Lana, I can't be sitting on my butt for the whole week." he said looking down at her. "I'm sorry, but your going to whether you like it or not." she said with a stern look. Clark sighed knowing he can't win this argument so he asked, "Can you at least hand me the remote?" Lana smiled as she handed him the remote. She went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner when Allison came in. She went over to the couch and sat on Clark's lap. "Whatcha watchin" she said. Clark turned his head to the cutest little girl he's ever seen, "Nothing, do you want to watch something?" he said. "How 'bout Spongebob SquarePants!" she said clapping her hands. Clark laughed at how cute she was acting as he turned the channel. After about 20 minutes into the show, Lana called them to eat dinner. Clark was about to pick up Allison when Lana got in the way. "Clark..." she said. Clark put up his hands, "I know I'm sorry, I forgot." Lana smiled as she stood on her toes to give him a sweet kiss. "Ewwww!" Allison said as she covered her eyes. Lana laughed at her daughter, "You know one day you're going to kiss a boy too." she said smiling. "No way! Boys have cooties." she said looking kind of disgusted. All three headed to the dinning room laughing.

It was now about five past ten. Allison was tucked in bed asleep while Lana and Clark where on the couch. Clark had his arm around Lana while Lana rested her head on his shoulder. The radio was on and a song started to play.

It was now late and Lana thought they should go to sleep. Lana helped Clark up as they slowly made their way to "their" bedroom. Clark took off his pants, but was having a little trouble getting his shirt. "Lana, umm can you help me?" he said blushing. Lana walked over to lift up his tight firefighter shirt off. Once she was done all she can do was look at his amazing body. 'Wow, he's lost some muscle but he still looks hot.' Clark saw her starring, "Lana? Lana?" he said. She looked up dumbfounded "I'm going to the bathroom to change." she said embarrased. When she came back Clark was already in bed. She slipped under the covers as Clark slowly rolled over to his side so he can put his arms around Lana. Everytime he did this Lana felt very secure and safe, she hadn't felt that in such a long time. Both fell asleep with smiles on their faces.

Chapter 14

It was now the end of the week, and Clark was allowed to go back to work tomorrow. His doctor had already approved but Lana was still not convinced. This whole week she had been by his side. Clark would always tell her that she doesn't have to do every single thing for him but she didn't want to hear any of it. Clark thought she was just too overprotective, but Lana just didn't want him to end up back in the hospital.

They were in the living room talking on the couch while Allison was watching tv. "Clark, are you sure you want to go back to work tomorrow? I mean if you don't I'll understand completely." she said turning her head from the tv to Clark. "Lana, we've had this talk before. I'm fine, it's been a week already. I think I've gotten plenty of rests. Besides the doctor said I was fully healed. So there's nothing to worry about." he tod her. "I know, but your a firefighter. You risk your life everyday saving people. You have to be inside burning buildings carrying really heavy things. What if something goes wrong and you-" Lana wasn't able to finish due to Clark cutting her off. "Lana, nothing is going to happen. I'm going to be fine. Ok?" he asked as he caressed her soft face. Lana sighed as she nodded her head. Clark smiled as he kissed her on the lips. Lana turned to Allison who was sitting on the floor playing with dolls as she watched tv. "Okay Allison, it's time to brush your teeth and head to bed." Allison got a sad look on her face, "Mom! Just a couple more minutes. PLEASE!?" she asked giving her the best sad face she can come up with. Lana just laughed, "Sorry honey, but that look won't work this time." Allison sighed, the look always worked. She slowly got up and headed for the bathroom.

Next Morning

Clark was in the shower getting ready for work while Lana was in the kitchen preparing breakfast. Allison was still asleep in the guest bedroom which was now turned into her room. After a couple of minutes Clark got out of the shower, dressed into his normal firefighter clothes and headed for the kitchen. He can already smell what Lana was cooking. When he got to the kitchen Lana was turned the other way.

Lana was at the stove cooking eggs when all of a sudden she felt two strong arms snake around her waist. "Mmmm...what smells so good." Clark said as he had his chin rested on her shoulder. "Breakfast." she said as she turned her head to kiss him on the cheek. "Come on, it's ready." she said. Both adults headed to the dinining room with their food in hand.

The Firehouse

Clark was now at the firehouse. He had missed this place and he missed the guys too. He left his house a little late because of Lana. She was just too worried about him. Clark had to assure her about a hundred times that he was going to come home without a scratch on him.

"Hey Clark, your finally back." said one of his friends. Clark went over to say hi. "Yeah." he said as he walked up to a bunch of guys playing cards. One of them said, "I heard you were at the hospital. What happened?" Clark went over to take a seat next to him, "Yeah I was. It was just some issues that got out of control." he said not wanting to go into details. Just then a very loud alarm shrieked throughout the room. Everybody started to run out to get into their suits. Pretty soon everybody was ready and headed to the firetruck.

Chapter 15

Clark was now in his car on his way home. Today was a very busy day for him. There was a big store that caught on fire, and it took hours to put out. He was so very exhausted. He was glad to be coming home because it meant seeing Lana and Allison. Those girls he loved most were the reasons he would wake up in the morning. Those two meant everything to him.

Clark had just parked his car right outside his apartment building and was now heading to the elevator, when he got out he saw Abby. A girl who has been hitting on him ever since he moved in.

She doesn't know about Lana so she decided to walk over to Clark. "Hey Clark." she said in a flirty tone. "Hey." he said slightly glancing as he kept walking towards the door. Abby got in front of him and started to rub his arm. "Wow Clark, hard day at work?" she asked as she licked her lips. Clark gave her a confused look as he replied, "Yeah." He then moved his hands behind his back and resumed towards his door. "Clark!" she yelled coming closer. 'God this girl never gives up does she?' he thought. "I was hoping if you were free tomorrow night?" she asked. When Clark was about to answer he heard his door opened. "Hey, I thought I heard someone talking." Lana said as she went over to kiss Clark.

Abby saw this and was disgusted. "Who's she?" she asked with an attitude. "Umm..." he looked at Lana who was looking at Abby. "Excuse me but I think I'm the one who should be asking that question." Lana said. "Abby this is Lana.....my girlfriend." Clark said nervously. Abby shot Lana a very dirty look, Lana stepped closer. Clark knew this wasn't going to be good, so Clark got in between the two ladies. "Umm..Lana maybe we should just go inside." he said as he gently grabbed her arm and led her inside the apartment. Abby gave her a sick smile and shouted, "I'll see you tomorrow Clark!" Clark just rolled his eyes as he shut the door.

"Okay who is she?" Lana asked. Clark didn't really want to tell her, so he just headed to the bedroom. "No one." he said as he took off his shirt. Lana scoffed at his answer, "I don't think she is just 'no one'. Who is she?" she asked more firm. The topless Clark walked over, "Lana she's just a girl who keeps asking me to go out with her but I always say no." he said as he kissed her. He continued to take off his clothes as he slipped on some pajama bottoms. "How many times has she asked you?" she asked as she folded her arms. Clark sighed "I don't know. Why is it so important anyway?" he said. "Just please answer the question." she said. "Ever since I moved in."

Clark saw her reaction and it wasn't a good one. So he walked over and sat her down on the bed. "Hey, you don't need to worry about anything. The only girl I'm interested in is you. Ok?" he said sweetly. Lana's face lit up as she nodded her head. "Good" he told her with a smile. He kissed his forehead, "Come on, let's go to sleep."

Chapter 16


Clark was at the locker rooms changing into his normal clothes. He was waiting for Lana and Allison to come by and pick him up. "So Clark, how's Lana doing?" Matt asked as he put some clothes into his locker. "She's is doing good. You know, taking one day at a time. She's just trying to put the past in the past and focusing on the future." Clark smiled at the last line. "That's good, and Allison?" Matt asked as he grabbed his duffel bag. "She's great. Allison is one of the most energetic four year old I have ever met." Clark said as he ran his fingers through his hair. "We tried our hardest to try and explain to her about what happened to her dad without really telling her. You know what I mean?" Matt turned to him, "Yeah, it's hard to grow up without a dad." Clark turned to him as he continued, "It's just great that your there for her." Matt said as he pat his back.

Lana had arrived at the firehouse a couple minutes ago, and some of the guys told her that Clark was inside the locker room. She headed towards the locker room with Allison close behind. Once she was right outside the door, she heard Clark and Matt talking. "You know, I have never seen you this happy." Matt said. "I know, me neither. Ever since I saw Lana that night, this smile never left my face." Clark said with a very big grin on his face.

Outside, a smiling Lana continued to listen in until she felt a slight tap on her leg. "Mommy, what are we doing?" she asked as she looked up. Lana pulled her finger in front of her mouth. Allison just threw her hands up and sighed, 'She's so weird.' she thought as she held her mommy's hand. "Those two have been the best things that have happened to me. They are the reasons why I wake up in the morning. I wouldn't know what I'd do without them." he replied as he grabbed his duffel bag. Lana looked down with the biggest smile on her face. 'He is so sweet.' Her thoughts were interrupted when she saw how impatient Allison was getting. "Ok, ok. Come on." Lana said as her and Allison resumed to walk.

Clark heard a knock and knew that it was Lana. "It's okay, you can come in." Clark hollered. Just then Lana and Allison appeared through the doors. "Sorry, I didn't want to walk in on anything." Lana replied. "Clark!" Allison said as she ran into his opened arms. Clark bent down to pick up Allison, "Hey how's my girl doing?" Clark asked. "Good." she said giggling. Clark started to tickle her as she let out a joyous laugh. Both Matt and Lana were watching the two. Matt turned to Lana, "Hey Lana, it's so good to see you." he walked over to give her a friendly hug. "It's good to see you too." Lana said. Then Clark turned around and said, "Ok Matt, I guess I'll see you later." They did their whole handshake as he replied, "Ok, take care." After they said their goodbyes, the three of them headed to the car.

Three days later

Clark was on the phone with his mom as he looked after Allison while Lana was at the grocery store. "Mom that's great! It's been a long time and I really want to see you again." On the other line a blissful Martha replied, "It's going to be great to see you too. I've missed you so much." "I miss you too." he said. "Oh and by the way, I'm going to have a surprise for you when I arrive." Clark added as he looked at Allison. "Oh Clark, you know I don't like surprises." she replied. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll love this surprise." Just then he heard the door open and Lana appeared with bags in her arms. "Oh mom, I gotta go." he said getting up from the couch. "Okay honey, bye." Clark said his goodbye and went to help Lana.

While they were putting the groceries away Lana asked, "So, who were you on the phone with?" Clark turned to his head, "My mom." Lana turned her head. She hadn't talked to Martha in such a long time. She was like a mother to her. "Wow, how is your mom?" Lana asked. Clark stopped what he was doing and took her hand in his, "Well, you're going to find out yourself." Lana gave him a confused look, "What do you mean?" Clark smiled at what he was about to say, "We're going to Smallville!" Lana's mouth just dropped.

Chapter 17

Clark, Lana, and Allison were all on the plane heading to Smallville. "Clark, are you sure that your mom will be ok about this whole thing?" she asked nervously. Clark took her hand which was laying on the armrest and replied, "Of course she will. Don't you remember how she was towards you, you were like a daughter she never had." Lana gave him a small smile. "Don't worry about anything." he said as he leaned in to kiss her forehead.


The plane had just arrived at the Smallville airport. The three of them were now in a cab on their way to the farm. Clark was getting excited by the minute. Lana too was happy but she was also very nervous. 'I mean what will she think when she sees me, more importantly what will she think when she sees Allison.' she thought as she looked at Allison who was looking out the window. "Honey, are you okay?" Clark asked seeing how nervous Lana was getting. "Yeah, I'm fine." Lana said giving him a reassuring smile.

An hour later, the cab pulled up in front of the infamous Kent Farm. Clark got out first helping Lana and Allison out. Once they had all their bags, the three just stood in front of the yellow house. Memories started to flood Clark and Lana's mind. Lana started to look over at the barn and saw Clark's loft. 'Alot of good memories there.' They were brought back to reality when they heard the screen door shot open. "Omg Clark, you're here!" Martha shouted as she ran towards him. "Hey mom." he said stepping forward. Martha gave her son the biggest hug ever, they haven't seen each other in almost six months. "It's so good to see you." Martha said. "It's good to see you too." he replied now breaking the hug. Lana and Allison just remained where they were, not moving. "Mommy, who is she?" Allison asked. Lana bent over, "She's Clark's mom honey." she told her. Martha saw someone else behind Clark, and when she saw who it was she was just so shocked. "Lana, is that you!?" she said. Lana stood back up and stepped a little closer. "Yeah Mrs. Kent, it's me." Martha went over to her with happy tears in her eyes, "Oh sweetheart, it's been so long." Lana leaned in to hug her, "I know, I really missed you Mrs. Kent." she said breaking the hug. "Oh, I've missed you too." Then Martha noticed a young girl holding a doll. Martha went over and asked, "Well, who's this adorable little girl." Martha asked. "Umm..this is Allison...." Lana said picking up Allison. "My daughter." she finished. Martha had a very shocked look and at the same time confused look. Just then Clark butted in, "Ummm...mom we'll explain to you later." Martha turned towards her son and replied, "Ok, well come in. We all need to catch up." The four of them headed inside the yellow house.

Clark and Lana spent the next couple of hours explaning to Martha everything. After they did, Martha felt very sorry for Lana. "Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry that had to happen." she said giving her a motherly hug. "It's ok Mrs. Kent. It's hard, but Clark has been by my side. He's really helped me alot." she said as she turned to Clark and took his hand. Martha saw this and remembered how they were back in high school. "I guess things are just like old times, huh?" she said looking at their joined hands. Both Clark and Lana blushed at the comment.

It was now just past 10 o'clock, Allison was asleep in the guest bedroom while Martha was in her master bedroom. Clark was at the loft looking out into the sky. Everything in there was left untouch. It was just as he left it ten years ago. "Hey." a soft voice called out. Clark turned around and saw Lana on top of the staircase. She walked towards where Clark was and started to look up in the sky. "You can't see these in New York. I forgot how beautiful they looked." she said turning from the sky to Clark. Clark looked down as he put his arm around Lana, "Yeah, me too. You know I remember how we would always come here and just look up in the sky. We would be here for hours." he said. "Yeah it's really peaceful. Alot of good memories." she said leaning up to kiss his awaiting lips. Both of them then moved to the red couch and just layed there, not saying anything. Not knowing what tomorrow will bring them.

Chapter 18


Next Morning

It was 8:30 a.m. and Lana, Allison, and Martha were all downstairs eating breakfast while Clark was inside his old bedroom sleeping.

He was still getting some sleep from last night. Clark spent most of the night with Lana, looking back into their past. They told each other stories from old friends, teachers, high school, and everything in between. Both spent hours just looking through old photo albums that were in his old bookshelves.

Clark lazily rolled over reaching out his arm to the other side of the bed. Disappointment fell upon his face when he found it empty. Pretty soon he heard laughter coming from downstairs. He groggily swung his legs over the side of the bed and headed to the bathroom across the hall. After washing his face he headed downstairs following the sounds of laughter.

Lana and Allison were at the table eating their breakfast while his mom were washing dishes. Lana noticed him and walked over to him. "Hey baby" she said as she stood on her tiptoes to give him a short goodmorning kiss. "Did you sleep well?" she asked. "Yeah, but I was a little disappointed when I woke up alone." he replied. "Oh I'm sorry, I just didn't want to wake you." she said as she brushed away some loose curls.

Just then Clark heard his mom call from the kitchen. "Hey Clark, your breakfast is on the table." Martha hollered as she wiped her hand on an old rag. She walked towards the dining room. Soon both Clark and Lana followed and all four sat around the table. "So, if you don't mind, I would really like to spend more time with Allison." she said looking at Allison who was playing with her food. "Actually, that's perfect because Clark and I were planning on walking around town." she replied smiling. Martha clapped her hands together as she said, "Perfect."

Clark and Lana were now walking along the sidewalk, hand in hand. "Omg! Clark do you remember that place?" she asked pointing at a park across the street. Clark smiled as memories flooded his mind from every corner, "How can I forget. We shared our first kiss right on the that bench." he replied pointing at a bench under a tree.

They resumed walking until they hit the Talon. They took a few minutes just admiring the place. "Wow, I can't believe this place is still here." Both of them were looking up at the sign. "Come on let's go in." pulling on Clark's arm. Everything inside surprised them. It looked exactly the same back in high school. "Do you remember when I got my first job at this place?" she asked still looking around. "Yeah, you broke almost every plate and cup your first day." he said laughing. Lana turned around and playfully slapped his arm.

After about half an hour of drinking coffee, Clark and Lana thought that it was time to head home. Clark left a tip before following Lana out the door.

Lana was already outside waiting for Clark. When she saw him walking out the door he bumped into a blonde lady who was about their age.

"Oh I'm so sorry." Clark said as he looked down at the woman. The woman looked up and was shocked at who she saw, "Clark?"

(i noe itz short but i juss had to have a cliffhanger...i'll post tomorrow! plus im juss watchin reckoning...man doesnt that juss ruin ur day! maybe i should turn off the tv...haha)

Chapter 19

Clark's POV

I couldn't believe my eyes. Is this for real or is it just a dream? I had to blink my eyes for a couple times just to make sure it wasn't a figment of my imagination.

End POV

"Alicia?" Clark asked still a bit dazed. The two were in deep stare while Lana was just standing in the same place. 'Who is this girl? Does Clark know her? What happened between them?'

Finally Lana decided to walk over. "Clark are you ok?" she asked rubbing his arm. "Yeah." Clark said still looking down at Alicia. Silence fell upon them, before Alicia finally decided to break the ice. "I'm sorry, where are my manners? I'm Alicia." she said turning to Lana as she sticks out her hand. Lana took her hand and shook it. "I'm Lana." Afterwards, Alicia looked down at her watch, "I'm sorry, but I gotta go. It was nice seeing you again Clark. And it was nice meeting you Lana." she said before turning around to cross the street.

"Okay, what was that about." Lana said with a smile. He finally looked at Lana for the first time since he left the Talon, "I don't know. C'mon let's go home, it's getting kinda late." He took Lana's hand as they resumed their walk.

The walk back was silent. Lana had a bad feeling about Clark's little reunion with that girl Alicia but just shook it off once she and Clark were at the front porch. "Hey, you guys are finally back." Martha said getting off of the couch. "I had such a great time with Allison, she's upstairs sleeping." Lana turned to Clark, "Okay I'm going to go check up on her." she said giving him a kiss then headed towards the stairs. Clark took a seat at the couch as Martha followed. She can see her son's blank expression. "Okay, what happened?" she asked. Clark looked at her trying to hide his real feelings. "What do you mean?" he asked nervously. Martha just laughed at his answer. "You know your not a really good liar. Now c'mon I'm your mother. What's going on?" she repeated. Clark sighed, "Umm..after the Talon Lana and I kinda ran into..." he paused "Alicia." he said avoiding his mother's eyes.

Martha's mouth just dropped open in utter shock. "What!? Alicia, what is she doing in Smallivlle?" she asked her son. "I don't know, I mean it was a real shocker."

Martha never really did like Alicia. She knew that she wasn't the right one for her son. He was too good for her and can do much better. Which was why she was ecstatic when she found out about their situation.

"What did Lana say?" she asked. "She didn't say anything." Clark answered. "She doesn't know what happened between me and Alicia...and I think it should stay that way."

Just then Lana popped in the living room. "Okay Mrs. Kent, I don't know what you guys did but I'm guessing you two had fun. She's sleeping like a rock." Lana said laughing. "Oh thanks Lana." Martha said as she got up. Martha was looking at Clark then to Lana. She can tell it was getting awkward. "Okay, I'm just gonna go to bed." she annouced before walking past Lana. Lana made her way towards Clark who was looking at her in a really weird way. "What were you guys talking about?" she said taking a seat next to him. But Clark quickly got up and replied, "Nothing important. Hey do you want to go to sleep? I'm really tired." Lana just gave him a questioning look before saying, "Sure, I'm kinda tired too."

It was now 2:00 a.m. and Clark was still wide awake. He couldn't sleep because he just couldn't take Alicia's face out of his mind. Finally after tossing and turning, Clark decided to go out and take a walk. Making sure Lana was in deep sleep, he slowly crept out the door.

It was a clear beautiful night, with the stars and moon shining brightly. Clark ended up in the park bench that he and Lana were looking at earlier. He sat there for awhile in deep thought. He was brought back to reality when a voice called out in the darkness. "Clark is that you?" the voice called out from the darkness.

"Alicia, what are you doing here?" Finally Alicia came into view, "I couldn't sleep and I thought a walk would be good. You?" she asked. Clark stood up and walk towards her.

"Same." Alicia walked past him and sat down on the couch. Clark did the same. They just sat there for awhile not sure of what to say to each other.

Chapter 20

It was now 6:30 a.m. Lana woke up to the alarm clock buzzing. She slowly rolled over hoping to find a sleeping Clark but frowned when she found it empty. 'Maybe he's already up' She lazily swung her legs to the side of the bed and opened the bedroom door. She heard Martha and Allison talking so she decided to go downstairs.

"Hey Lana, you're finally up." Martha said from behind the stove. Lana walked over to where Allison was and gave her a kiss on the forehead. "Yeah, so have you seen Clark." she asked walking over. Martha looked at her confused, "Isn't he still sleeping?" she asked. Lana arched her eyebrows, "No, I woke up alone and I thought that he was already up." Martha shook her head before replying, "Nope he's not here."

Lana was really confused. 'Where is he?' Just then the front door swung open and Clark appears in the doorway still wearing his pajamas. Lana quickly walked over, "Clark where have you been?" Lana asked really worried. Clark just walked past her and sat down on the kitchen table, "Oh I just took a walk." Lana followed not sure why he was acting this way, "This early in the morning?" Clark looked at her not sure what to say, "Yup." then he got up "I think I'll take a shower." he said heading towards the stairs. All Lana could do was stand there in confusion. She has no idea why Clark is acting this way.

After taking a shower Clark headed to his bedroom to change. He stopped when he saw Lana in there fumbling with some clothes. "Hey Clark." she asked with a smile. "Hey" he said returning the smile as he picked up some of his clothes. "I was thinking that we can take a walk to Crater Lake." Lana asked. Clark looked at her before making up an excuse, "Sorry, but I can't today. I have some errands to do. But maybe later." he said heading out to change. Lana had a disappointed look on her face.


After Clark changed he told his mom that he was just going to do some *errands*. He left without so much saying a goodbye to Lana.

Clark hopped in his red truck and started the ignition.

He was driving for about five minutes when he finally arrived at his destination. He was greeted by a blonde girl in front of a blue house.

Chapter 21


Lana came downstairs after giving Allison her bath. She was now heading downstairs to find Martha paying off some bills in the dinning room.

"Hey Mrs. Kent" she said as she sat down across from her. Martha glanced up at her saying, "Hey Lana" then she got back to the papers in front of her.

Lana sat there for a second before asking, "Mrs Kent, do you know anything about this girl named Alicia?"

This caused Martha to look up. 'Oh no, what should I say?' she thought. "I don't know much. Why do you ask?" Even though she already knew the answer.

"Well yesterday, Clark and I ran into her. Ever since, Clark's been acting weird around me. Like he's trying to avoid me."

Martha felt so bad for her, she just wanted to tell her everything, but she knew it wasn't her position to say anything about it. "I'm sure it's nothing." she said trying to force out a smile. 'Clark if you leave Lana for that girl, I swear I will never forgive you.'

Lana just gave her a weak smile, but something inside of her was telling her that there is something else.

Across Town

Clark was on the couch with Alicia. The two were conversing with each other for the past hour.

"Alicia, you never told me what you're doing in Smallville." Clark asked. "Well, I actually just got here about a week ago. My mother passed away." she said looking down on the floor.

Clark reached over to grab her hand, "Alicia I am so sorry." he said. Alicia looked at their joined hand and she managed to crack open a smile but Clark couldn't see it since her head was down. Finally she looked up, "It's fine, but sometimes it's just hard because I feel so alone."

Clark gave her a reassuring smile, "I'm sure there's someone out there for you and you'll meet him someday. You just need to have patience. Alicia looked deeply in his beautiful green eyes. "Maybe I already did."

This was when Clark quickly took off his hand from Alicia's. They shared a few seconds of uncomfortable silence before Alicia spoke, "I'm sorry Clark. I didn't mean it that way. It's just that this has really hit me hard. I even lost my mom's necklace that she gave to me. It had a beautiful angel on it." Alicia saw the look on his face and realized she should change the subject.

"Anyways, enough about me how about you. What's been going on with you after college?" she asked.

Clark gave her smile. "Umm..well I am currently living in New York and I work as a firefighter." Alicia looked at him in amazement, "Wow! A firefighter, that's great!"

They spent another hour talking before Clark left. He was headed to the jewerly store down the street. When he came in it didn't take long for him to find what he was looking for. 'Perfect.' he thought as he walked out the store with the object in his hand.

A couple minutes after the jewerly store Clark had finally come home. When he got there he noticed that his mom wasn't home and that the first floor was completely empty. He went upstairs to find Lana gently closing the guest bedroom door.

"Is Allison sleeping?" he whispered. Lana gave him a nod before walking over. "So how did your errands go?" she asked. Clark hated it when he had to lie to Lana, but he knew that it was better this way. "It was good." he said before bringing his lips down towards Lana's.

Lana took his hand before leading him downstairs. They sat on the couch with Lana's upper body resting on Clark's chest. "Clark you never really told me how you know Alicia." she asked. Clark's eyes widened and wasn't sure of what to say. His heart also started to race and Lana can sure feel it against her back. "Clark?" she asked as she turned around to face him. "Alicia was just an old friend." he nervously said. She looked him straight in the eyes before replying, "Clark I've known you for years. Don't you think I know by now when your lying."

Then she got off him and stood up. "Clark can you just please tell me the truth?" she asked softly.

Chapter 22

It has been four days since Clark, Lana, and Allison had arrived in Smallville. Only two more days until they had to leave and go back to New York. Ever since the talk with Lana he has been spending all his time with Lana and Allison, the way it was suppose to be. He has been trying to avoid Alicia because he didn't have a reason to see her. I mean he did say it himself, Alicia is his past and Lana is his present. So why bother messing with it...right?? Too bad Alicia doesn't feel the same way.



Clark, Lana, and Allison were walking along the sidewalk. They were showing Allison all of the places that they spent together as a kid. "Wow! Look at that!" she said pointing at something that had manged to catch her eye. Allison is not really used to the whole country scene since this is her first time leaving the big city. So she really appreciates everything new she sees. Like all the cows, pigs, and chickens. Or seeing the stars so clearly at night or looking at sunsets. She's especially been liking how peaceful it is in Smallville. Usually she's used to hearing people stomping out in the sidewalk and all the cars honking at each other.

Clark had Allison in his arms while he held Lana's hand. To Lana this is what you would call a perfect family. She never knew she would ever experience that until that night, the night she was reunited with her high school sweetheart. She forgot how good it felt to be loved again or to be in love. But Clark never disappointed.

You see after senior year, Lana had a hard time opening up to guys. Because Clark was her first real love. She couldn't picture herself with someone else. But then of course she met John..and you all know how good that went for her. But now she doesn't have to worry about that. John is out of her life and Clark is. She just hopes that Clark doesn't leave her...again.

The three had just arrived home after their long wonderful walk. "Hey guys, did you have fun?" Martha asked. Allison jumped off of Clark's arms and ran to Martha, "Yes we did. I saw where mommy used to go to school and where she worked and everything!" she shouted happily. The three adults just giggled at how cute she was being.

"Clark I was thinking that maybe we should go to that windmill we always went to." she asked with a smile on her face. "Oh I'm sorry Lana, but I kinda have something to do. But I promise I will make it up to you." he said giving her a kiss on the lips. "But Clark, I want to go their before we leave." she said sadly. Clark just took her waist and pulled her closer to him, "I know and we will. But I just have something really important to do today. And I promise that tomorrow I will make it up to you." he said before kissing her once again. "Which is why I have to go now." he said looking at his watch.

Clark was in his loft preparing everything that he needed. Lana and Allison were at the movies, so this was perfect for Clark's surprise. He had been in the loft all day making sure that everything went perfect. Nobody knew what he had planned not even his mom and this was the way he liked it. He was about to call Lana when all of a sudden he heard a voice coming from top of the stairs. "Clark." he turned around to see the devil herself (just kidding) Alicia. 'Oh no' Clark thought as he stuck his phone back in his pocket. "Alicia what are you doing here?" Clark asked. Alicia walked over to him. "Look Clark I just want to let you know before it's too late." she paused trying to see Clark's reaction. "I just wanted to let you know that I'm still in love with you." she said looking up at his shocked face. "Alicia I-" he was cut off by her. "Clark let me just finish." He nodded his head. "Clark, I made the mistake of not giving you an answer that night you proposed to me. The reason why was because I was scared. You were my first real boyfriend and my first real love. I just didn't know what to do so I ran. I ran away hoping to find the answer. But by the time I did you were gone. Ever since all I think about is how much I regretted not giving you an answer. If I did you and I would probably be happily married with kids." she said with a smile. "But Alicia that was a long time ago. I have moved on. Maybe you should too." he said. Alicia moved closer to his face, "Clark I know what you're doing. You're just scared just like I was. But there is nothing to be scared of." With this she slammed her lips against Clark's. The kiss lasted for about two seconds before Clark pushed Alicia off of him, but that two seconds would change everything. "Omg." A voice called out from the stairs.

Chapter 22 Continued

Clark's POV

What is Alicia saying? She's still in love with me? But I don't love her, I've moved on. My relationship with her was years ago and she was the one that had left me. Besides, I'm with Lana now and she's the only woman I want to be with. Hold on, why is she coming closer?

End POV

Lana's POV

Allison and I had just finished watching the movie. It was great but it ended earlier than I had expected. Which was why I decided to come home early. I was really tired and all I wanted to do was sleep and of course see Clark.

Once I got to the Kent Farm, I looked over to the barn and saw that the loft lights were still on and knew that Clark was there. So, after telling Allison to go inside the house, I walked towards the barn.

When I got there I heard Clark and someone else talking. But that someone else sounded like a woman's voice. I started to get curious so I slowly crept up to the top of the stairs only to find heartbreak.

There I saw at Clark's loft were candles everywhere and rose petals on the ground. All surrounding Clark and Alicia who were both kissing. I couldn't believe my eyes. Was Clark really doing this? Was he really cheating on me? Right after he said he loved me? This must be a dream. No a nightmare.

End POV

(Her reaction is just like the one in FADE just so it's easier to picture)

Clark heard a soft quivering voice coming from the stairs and all he saw were the tears in Lana's face threatining to fall. "Lana this is not what it looks like." Clark said coming closer to her. All Lana did was just look at the two with utter disgust, hate, and anger. She swiftly turned back around and climbed down the stairs. She could hear Clark run after her but she didn't care.

"Lana! Please wait!" Clark shouted once he reached the last step and Lana was a couple feet away from him. Clark cautiously walked over to her, "Lana please, you gotta understand. It wasn't like that." he begged. "Was this why couldn't spend the night with me?" Lana softly asked as a tear fell from her eyes. "Lana.." Clark slowly said. He reached out his arm to touch her but she quickly slapped it away. Then she turned around and walked out of the barn heartbroken. During this whole time, a smiling Alicia watched from the top.

Lana hopped back in the truck not knowing where to go. All she knew was that she needed to get away from Clark as far away as possible. She ended up at the windmill that she had wanted to go to earlier. She slowly got off of the truck and just looked up at the very top. She walked over to the ladder and climbed it. Once she was at the top she just sat down at the edge, over looking the whole field and just starred at the Metropolis skyline. She wiped away some of her tears, but it was useless because more and more just kept pouring out of her eyes. She thought that finally her life was coming back together and that she can finally spend the rest of her life in complete happiness with her daughter and Clark. "I guess it was just too good to be true." Was the last thing she said before climbing back down.

When she arrived at the Kent Farm she was met by a worried Martha Kent. "Lana, honey where have you been? I have been worried sick." Martha said seeing Lana's puffy red eyes. "I'm sorry Mrs. Kent" she sniffed. "Clark is looking everywhere for you. I know what happened. I'm so sorry. But maybe you two just need to talk." Martha said calmly. "I'm sorry Mrs. Kent but I don't think talking will help erase that horrible picture in my mind."

Then she quickly ran up the stairs and headed inside Clark's bedroom. She grabbed her duffel bag and stuffed all her clothes and things inside it. After gathering everything she went across the hall and inside the guest bedroom. There she found Allison sleeping soundly. She went over and grabbed her little pink backpack. She went over to the drawers and took out every thing stuffing the bag. She then walked over to the bed and gently shook Allison. "Honey, we have to go." She said as she picked up the duffel bag, the pink bag, and finally Allison. "Huh?" Allison said half asleep.

Lana came downstairs to find Martha pacing around the kitchen. "Honey where are you going? You can't leave." she said trying to stop her. "I think I do. Thank you Mrs. Kent you have been great this week. I will really miss you." she sniffed. When the cab came she hopped in and drove away.

'Oh Clark, what have you done.' she thought as she watched the cab drive away into the night.

Chapter 23



Clark had been searching everywhere for Lana but was disappointed when he found no sign of her. He thought that maybe she came back to the house. It was a long walk since Lana took the truck, but he didn't care. All he cared about was finding Lana.

When he came home he saw that his mother was sitting on at the dinning table so he decided to walk over to her. "Mom, have you seen Lana?" he asked. Marhta stood up, "Yes, Yes I did." she said. "Well, where is she?" Clark asked getting kinda impatient. "Clark she left. She packed up all her things and left." All Clark could do was look at her. He was starting to form tears in his eyes. "No.." was all Clark could muster up before turning around and quickly climbed the stairs. He opened the door to his bedroom and saw that Lana's clothes were missing. Then he went inside the guest bedroom and also saw it empty. This was when Clark dropped to his knees. 'How could I let this happen? This was suppose to be a special night for me and Lana.' He reached in his pocket and took out a small black box. All he did was stare at it. It was all he can do at the moment.

He heard footsteps coming closer and knew that it was his mother. "Oh Clark." Martha said as she helped him up to his feet. She gave him a motherly hug as he sobbed on her shoulders. "I need to go after her." Clark said. "Oh honey, she's probably on a plane right now, she left a long time ago before you even got her. You can go tomorrow." she said as she softly rubbed his back.

Clark just sat on his bed for hours just thinking about Lana. He kept starring at a picture of them when they were in high school. They looked so very happy. But something kept popping back in his mind. It was when he first saw Lana's reaction at the loft. 'She looked so hurt. Betrayed. God she's been through so much in her life. All she wanted was love and support and I just ended up giving her the opposite. Only if she knew.' Clark thought before turning of his lamp and finally going to sleep.


In the airplane

Lana and Allison had just boarded the plane heading to New York. Lana was starring out the window. She just kept thinking about Clark.

'What if Clark was right. What if it wasn't what it looked like? What if I just jumped into conclusions right away? But why shouldn't I? I mean they were both kissing and candles and rose petals were surrounding them. And Clark told me about their past. If Alicia would have said yes, Clark right now would be married and have a family. And I...I would still be with John living a life of hell.'

Chapter 24


It was now morning and Lana and Allison had just arrived at New York International Airport. After collecting their luggages, both Lana and Allison hopped in a cab. They were on there way to Jennifer's house because she certainly didn't want to be in Clark's apartment when he came back....she just wasn't ready to face him.

Lana hadn't explained much to Jennifer just that she was coming back from Smallville early and that something bad had happened between her and Clark.

The cab had just pulled up at the house and Lana and Allison both came out. They walked up the steps with luggage in hand. After a few knocks Jennifer answered the door. She quickly opened her arms to give comfort to her broken friend.

"Oh honey, I am so sorry." she said. This was when Lana just let it all out, everything that had been boiling up ever since she left Smallville. After about a minute of just pure sobbing in her friends arms, the three of them moved inside. "Allison baby, why don't you go in the room and watch some tv." Jennifer said bending down to her eye level. "Ok." she said, but before leaving she looked up at her mother who was carefully wiping away some tears.

She never did understood why her mother had started crying, or why they left Smallville in such a hurry. She thought that they were all having a good time.

Once Allison had left the room, Jennifer and Lana moved to the living room. "Okay sweetie, do you want to talk about it?" she asked cautiously not wanting to create anymore damage to her friend. Lana just sat there thinking for a second before answering, "I guess so." Jennifer was gently rubbing her back as she spoke, "Okay...well Clark and I were having such a good time once we had arrived at Smallville. I saw his mom again and his home. Allison loved every second we spent there. But it all changed once we bumped into his ex." Jennifer gasped at what she just said. "But she just wasn't his ex..a couple of years ago Clark had proposed to her but she turned him down." she continued. "It was when he started getting wierd around me. Whenever I would ask him about it he would always change the subject until finally he just cracked and told me everything. But he reassured me that it was all in the past and that he didn't have anymore feelings for her." Jennifer just kept rubbing her back urging her to move on. "After he had come clean, everything was back to normal. Clark, Allison, and I were starting to have fun again. Her name was never metioned ever again. But yesterday I had asked Clark to go to this windmill we used to go to when we were in high school, and he said that he needed to do something really important and that he would make it up to me. So I believed him and just ended up going to the movies with Allison. When I got back I had noticed that Clark was in the barn. So I decided to go up there but what I saw really crushed me." she paused for a second as more tears came down her face. "I saw him and Alicia kissing with candles and rose petals surrounding them. After that I don't know....I just felt like I couldn't move, like I couldn't feel my legs. Clark was trying to explain to me that I had the wrong idea, but I just ignored him. I guess a part of me was just scared of what he was going to say. Like what if he tells me that he had fallen back in love with her or that he doesn't want to be with me." as she says this more tears came out, if that was even possible. "Lana, you don't know that. There must have been an explanation for what you saw." Of course Jennifer was just saying this just to make her feel better, but inside she just wanted to go to Smallville and kick Clark's butt, along with the bimbo. "I just couldn't face him that night, which was why I ran. Which is so typical of me, always running away from my problems. I am such a coward." she said wiping away some tears with a kleenex.

Jennifer looked at her, "Hey don't say that. You are one of the most bravest girl I have ever met. You survived being in an abusive relationship where as in other women would just give up. But not you, you managed to raise an amazing four year old girl by yourself. Lana to me you are the farthest thing from being a coward." she said as she hugged Lana.

Hearing this made her feel a little better, but she knew that the issues between Clark weren't resolved yet.

Chapter 25

Clark was now at his apartment...alone. The way it's always been for the last three days. He and Lana haven't talked at all. Clark had been trying to talk to her, but she just wouldn't give him the time of day. But work was really good for him, it kept him occupied and he wouldn't think of Lana as much.

Jennifer's house

Lana was on the couch watching tv with Allison while Jennifer was out shopping. They watched for about an hour before Allison started to speak "Mommy, when are we going to see Clark again?" she asked taking her attention off of the tv. Lana looked at her as she picked her up so Allison can sit on her lap. "I don't know honey. Clark and I kinda aren't talking to each other." she said as she ran her hands through her soft hair. "Why?" she asked furrowing her eye brows. "It's complicated sweetheart." Lana answered. "But Clark was really fun." she said. Lana looked at her for a second 'You're right, he is.' she thought. Then Allison made a face like she just got an idea, "Did Clark make you cry mommy?" she asked. Lana wasn't sure how to respond back to this, "No honey, Clark did not make me cry." she said quietly. "Good because I really wanted a new daddy." she said before hopping out of her mother's lap and headed to the room with her doll in hand. All Lana did was sit there in shock, but she knew how her daughter felt because she too felt the same way.

Clark's Apartment

Clark had just arrived at the firehouse where he saw some of the guys sitting around eating their lunch.

"Hey Clark!" one of them greeted. All Clark did was nod his head before heading to the locker room. "Hey what's up Clark." Matt greeted. "Hey." he said before turning the combination on his locker. Matt can see that he was still a little out of it, "Look Clark, don't worry about Lana ok? Things are going to get better." he said as he patted his back. "I hope you're right." he said before an alarm shrieked through the whole firehouse. In seconds a big red firetruck came barging out of the gigantic garage.

About after a few minutes, the firetruck came to a stop in front of an apartment building that had caught on fire. There was already about four firetrucks in front of it trying to put it out. Immediately, Clark and the other guys hopped out of the truck, getting everything they needed. While three of them handled the fire hose, Clark, Matt, and John, another firefighter went up to the building and see if anybody was still in there. Right when they got to the third floor, it was nothing Clark could imagine, it was like an inferno. The roofs were collapsing everywhere he turned, there were very little floors to walk on, and it was hot as hell. Fire's were raging at every corner.

While Matt went right with John, Clark went to the left. He chopped open the doors and saw that it was clear, he moved to the next one and saw nothing. After checking most of it, he was relieved that everyone had gotten out safe. "Hey, everything is clear here!" he hollered over the raging flames. Both John and Matt gave him an ok nod before heading out. Clark was ahead of them by a couple feet. After about a couple feet away from the door, Clark heard Matt's booming voice, "Clark!!" before blacking out.

Chapter 25 Continued

"Come on. Come on pick up. Please pick up." Matt muttered as he paced at the waiting room of New York Medical Hospital. Clark had just arrived there a half hour ago and Matt hasn't heard from a single doctor yet. He was starting to get worried, and it didn't help at all that Lana wasn't picking up her phone. "Come on Lana, just please pick up." Matt once again said. He hung up the phone when he heard the doctor clear his throat. "What's going on with him. Is he going to be alright? Is it serious?" he asked quickly. The doctor started to explain everything to him. After he was done, the doctor went back towards the hall and into another room. Matt was left standing there trying to wrap his mind around the information the doctor had just told him. "I gotta tell Lana." he said as he quickly stands up from one of the chairs.

It was a good thing that Clark had told him where Lana was staying or he wouldn't know any other way to get in touch with her. After awhile, he had finally arrived at his destination. Hopping out of the car he went up the porch steps, took a deep breathe, and knocked until someone answered. "Hello, what can I do for you?" Jennifer asked as she looked at the very handsome man. "Yes, is Lana there?" Matt asked. Jennifer's smile disappeared, "Yeah, hold on." she said as she went to go find Lana. 'Why does she always get the good ones?' she thought as she looked for Lana. A couple of seconds later Lana appeared at the doorway, "Oh Matt, look if your here to defend Clark-" she was cut off by Matt. "Lana I didn't come here to defend Clark. I came here because something happened to him today during one of the fires."

All Lana did was gasp in shock, preparing for the worst. "Come in." she said as she moved aside to let him inside. Jennifer appeared with Allison in her arms, "What's going on?" she asked as she rocked Allison in her arms. "Something happened to Clark." Lana said in a shaky voice. This was when Matt continued to explain, "We got a call saying that there was a big apartment building that had caught on fire. When we arrived everything was going smoothly, nobody was left inside and we were doing our last checks. Once we were done, Clark was ahead of me and another firefighter. He was just a couple of feet away from the door when I saw a beam suddenly fall down where Clark was." he paused making sure that Lana was alright. But he noticed that she was shaking and that she needed to sit down. After helping her sit down he went on, "The beam cracked his skull open, he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he had went into surgery. The doctors said he was going to be fine but....they said that he had lost some of his memory." he paused again looking at Lana, who just sat very still trying to comprehend all the information she was just given. "And the doctors don't know if he's ever going to get it back." he said very quietly. Then he heard Lana's sobs and he quickly ran over to give her a comforting hug. "Where is he?" she sobbed. "He's at the hospital just down the road."

Lana quickly took Allison from Jennifer and headed towards her car. "Wait do you want us to come with you?" she hollered. But it was too late..Lana was already backing up from the driveway. "Come on we'll follow her in my car." Matt said.

Chapter 26

Ding

The elevator doors open and out comes a frantic Lana holding Allison in her arms. She was desperately looking for room 348 which was Clark's room. It took her awhile to get through everybody, but was relieved when she finally found it.

She slowly opened the door, and a sleeping Clark appeared on the bed. She slowly walked a little closer. She saw Clark hooked up to some machine that helps him breathe, then she saw that Clark had alot of bruises all over his body. She saw them on his arms, legs, and face. He just looked so helpless. Lana pulled out a chair next to him as Allison sat on her lap. She took his bruised hand and just held it for dear life. 'I can't believe this is happening. I can't believe I wasn't here for him...he must have felt so alone. This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for me...if I should have just forgave him, like I wanted to. But I was just too stubborn about it.' a tear slowly escaped from the corner of her eyes. Allison had seen this, so she slowly reached over and wiped it away with her tiny little hands. "Mommy, don't cry." she whispered. Lana took her hand and kissed it. "I won't." was all she said before turning her attention back at Clark.

Just down the hall, Matt and Jennifer were looking for Clark's room. Since they knew that Lana and Allison were both going to be there. "So, I still don't get about Clark's memory loss." Jennifer asked as she tried to keep up with Matt's walking. "A beam fell on his head, the doctors said that it caused his skull to open. While the doctors where doing surgery, they found out that some of his memories where wiped out. They said that it was possible for him to not remember anything for the last four years." he said trying to avoid the passing people. "Wait? What!? You mean Clark doesn't remember a thing from the past four years?!" she said as they came into an abrupt halt in front of the room.

Both slowly walked in as they saw Lana sitting next to Clark as she held onto Allison. Matt came up to her and started to rub her back. "Want me to take Allison?" he quietly whispered. All Lana did was nod her head, as Matt bent over to pick her up. He went outside with her while Jennifer stayed behind. "Hey, how are you doing?" she quietly asked. "This was all my fault Jennifer." she answered not tearing her eyes away from Clark. "Hey, don't do this to yourself. This was not your fault. Things happen. Everything is going to be fine." she said as she gave her friend a comforting smile. "You're right. I guess the only good thing about this is that Clark had lost his memory. He wouldn't have a clue that we had a big argument about his ex. Maybe this way we can both finally move on from it." she said finally looking at Jennifer.

Jennifer gave her a nervous laugh. She didn't know how to tell her. "Umm..Lana, on the way here Matt was explaining to me about his memory loss. He told me that the doctors said Clark might not remember the last four years of his life." she said.

Chapter 27

The rays of the sun were peaking through the slightly opened window. A sleeping Clark stirred as he groggily opened his eyes. 'Where am I? I don't remember every being here. And why do I have such a big headache?' he thought as he rubbed the back of his head. He slowly scanned the room for anything familiar, or anything that will help him remember how he got here in the first place. Then he felt a small hand holding his. 'Alicia?'

He looked down as his smile faded. It wasn't Alicia, it was another girl, a brunette girl. 'Who is she? And why is she holding my hand?' His eyes widened when she started to move.

Lana was woken up my some movements. When she opened her eyes, she just wanted to jump for joy. "Clark!" she said giving him a big hug. "Oh Clark, you really scared me." she said over his shoulder. Clark didn't move, he was just so confused. "Lana!? Is that you?" he asked as he slowly hugged her back. Lana let go of the hug and faced him, "Yeah it's me." she said. Clark gave her a confusing look. "I'm sorry Lana, but I don't know what's going on. Why are you here? Where am I?" he asked.

"Clark we ran into each other here just a couple months ago...in New York." she said. Clark's eyes just widened. "New York...but...but...the last thing I remember was I was at my dorm room with....Alicia." he said, kind of whispering the last part. Lana slowly backed away from him. "Oh." she softly said. 'Wow, that's the last thing he remembers...Alicia?' Clark saw this and started to tell her, "Please Lana, can you just tell me what's going on? I'm just so confused."

Lana gave him a weak smile as she came closer. "Clark, I can understand if you're confused...you see Clark you were in a very bad accident, which caused some of you're memory to be wiped out." she said. Clark just sat there, not really knowing what to say, "What kind of accident?" he asked looking her staight in the eyes. Lana came much closer as she took his hand, "You work as a firefighter, and yesterday you had to go to an apartment that had caught on fire, they said that when you were about to go out a beam had fallen on you, which caused your memory loss." she said as she rubbed his hand. "Wait? I work as a firefighter...here..in New York?" he asked very confused. Lana nodded her head. "And I have memory loss. The last thing I remember is being in Central Kansas. Wait, what year is it?"

"It's 2016."

Chapter 27 Continued


Clark didn't have a chance to reply since a doctor had entered his room. Both Lana and Clark turned their attention towards him. "Well, I can see that you're awake Mr. Kent. How do you feel?" Clark looked from the doctor, to Lana, then back at the doctor. He clears his throat, "I feel fine, other than this massive headache I have."

"Ahh, that's normal for your case. I will be giving you some pain killers when you are released, which is.." he pauses to look at his clipboard "Tomorrow morning." Clark gave him a weak smile, since he didn't know where he lived. The doctor was telling Lana something before he left to visit another patient.

Lana walks over to the side of his bed, "Looks like you're going home earlier than I had expected." she said with a smile.

'God, I've never seen so many bruises on one person in my life.' she thought as she scanned his face.

Clark and Lana just arrived at his apartment. "Here you go" she says as she helps him sit down on the couch. He looks around, "So this is my place?"

"Yeah, for the past two years now." she said as she sat down next to him. Clark looks all around, trying to see if he remembers anything. He looks at the tv stand, where he sees a picture of his friends and family. Then he looks at the wall next to it. There he spotted a frame proudly showing all of the badges he had earn over the past years. Next to it a jacket hung showing, 'NYU Firefighter' in the back. "Wow." was all Clark can say. "Yeah, you've done pretty well since high school."

Clark turned his attention back to Lana, "Lana you never told me what you're doing here in New York."

"Well during college, I sarted to study art and fashion. I worked really hard, hoping one day I can own my own business. And a couple years later, I started to work with differernt people and I don't know, I just ended up in New York." Clark was very amazed at how well Lana had done for herself. "Looks to me like I'm not the only one that has been succesful in life." he grinned. Of course Lana left out the part about John, Allison, and her failed marriage. Plus about the part that she is unemployed and is raising a four year old daughter as a single mother. She just thought that he needed more time until she told him everything. When he is more comfortable. While she was thinking about that, Clark was thinking about what happened to Alicia. Like he said the last thing he remembered was being at his dorm room getting ready to propose to her and everything else is just blank. He wanted to ask Lana if she knew anything about it, but just thought that it wasn't appropriate. He was in such deep thought that he did not realize Lana was talking to him. "Clark?" she asked as she waved a hand in front of his face. "What?" he asked coming back to reality. "You okay?"

"Oh yeah, I was just trying to remember something." Lana was about to say something when they heard a knock on the door. "Hold on." Lana said as she stood up. Clark watched her as she answered the door. 'She's just as beautiful as I remember.'

Chapter 27 Continued (2 part)

Lana opened the door, to find Matt, Jennifer, and Allison standing in the doorway. "Mommy!" shouted Allison as she jumped into her mother's arms. "I've missed you so much mommy." Allison said. "Oh I've missed you too sweatheart." she said as she hugged her daughter. Both Matt and Jennifer looked at the two with smiles on their faces.

Clark stayed at the couch watching them also. 'Mommy? Lana has a daughter? Does that mean that she's married?'The four of them headed to the living room where Clark was. "Hey man, I'm glad to see you're alright. You really scared us." Matt said as he greeted Clark. He tried to stand up but his body was just too sore. "Hey don't get up. It's ok." he said taking a seat next to him. Lana came over as she carried Allison. She wasn't ready to tell Clark right now about Allison because he'll just start asking question."Clark this is Jennifer, Matt, and my daughter...Allison." she said.

Allison knew that Clark had lost his memory, but wasn't quite sure why. "Hi Allison." he said as he held out his hand for her to shake. Allison looked at him wierdly, "Hi Clark." she said as she took his hand. An awkward silence filled the room until Jennifer spoke up. "So Clark, what exactly do you remember?" Clark looked at her, not really knowing who she was but still answered the question. "Well, I remember being in my dorm room with my girlfriend at Central Kansas, where I go to college....or *went* to college." Lana's heart sank when she heard this, even though her name wasn't metioned, it still hurt thinking about it. Again silence fell upon the five people. "So Clark, how are you feeling?" Matt asked. "I feel fine, I'm still a little sore. But I'm sure it will pass." he replied.

"And hey you don't have to worry about getting better in a hurry, the cheif says that you can take all the time you need to recover." he said as he softly patted his back as Clark nodded

Clark wasn't sure if Matt was his friend, or just a co-worker so he decided to ask him. "So, Matt how do we know each other?" he asked. "Well, we met at the firehouse. You were the newest firefighter and I was assigned to show you around and ever since we just became very good friends." he answered.

Clark nodded his head then he turned to Jennifer. "What about you Jennifer? How do I know you?"

"Actually, I met you from Lana. Lana and I have been friends ever since she moved here to New York. We used to be co-workers as well."

Clark gave her a confused look. "What do you mean *used* to?" Jennifer wasn't sure what to say, so she turned to Lana and gave her a look that said *Help*. 'No, this was not how I wanted to tell him. I didn't want to tell him everything right when he got home. But I guess I have no choice.' Lana thought

"Yeah Clark, I used to be her co-worker. I don't work anymore." she said.

"Why? I don't get it, when you were telling me you sounded so excited and passionate. I don't know why you would just stop."

'Okay, here it goes.'

"Actually, it wasn't because I didn't want to do it anymore. I had no choice." she whispered the last part.

"What do you mean you had no choice?" he asked. A tear slowly escaped Lana's face, everytime she thought about it she was just reminded of how bad her life was just a couple of months ago. Jennifer sat up and gave her friend a comforting hug. "Hey it's ok." she whispered in her ear. Lana nodded as she wiped away her tears. "It had to do with my husband." she said. "What do you mean? What does you're husband have anything to do with your career?" Lana didn't want to do this she just didn't want to go back and explain the worst part of her life but knew she had no choice. "Clark I was in an abusive relationship." she finally said.

Clark couldn't believe what she was saying. 'Lana Lang in an abusive relationship? But why? Why would Lana stick around for that? Why would her husband do that to her? Especially if they have a child togther. Wait...did she just say *was*'

Chapter 28


"What do you mean was?" Clark asked trying to understand where she was going with this.

"I was married to a guy named John. We were married for about seven years. He was a really sweet guy in the begining, he took care of me, he had a solid job. It was everything I would ever dream of." she paused trying her hardest not to cry. "But it all changed. He got fired from his job and it really hit him hard. You see, John worked as a police officer. He loved that job more than ever, it was his passion. Which was why when he got laid off, he really didn't know why or what he was going to do. Pretty soon he turned to alcohol. Which caused him lose his temper more easily. Then I got pregnant and John didn't want anything to do with it. He wanted me to get an abortion but I just refused. Getting pregnant was everything I had ever wanted. He started to abuse me both verbally and physically. It was really tough for me, but I managed to survive. Jennifer was of course here to help me, but I just knew it wasn't enough. I was so close to giving up, but then that one night changed everything." she paused again looking at Clark.

Clark gave her a confused look not really knowing what she meant by that. "It was that night in the park that had changed my point of view. It was that night that I ran into you, Clark."

Chapter 28 Continued

"What do you mean?" was all the bewildered Clark can ask. "That night, Allison and I had just come home after spending the day outside. John never liked it when we went outside. He didn't like it when we would have fun while he was at the office. But that day was different, like all of a sudden didn't care what he thought. All I cared about was having fun with my daughter, just like any normal mother would do. Then I remembered that I had lost track of time and came home late. When I got back, John got really furious, and he started..." she paused as memories of that night flooded her mind.

"He started to what?" Clark asked. Without looking up she continued, "He started to beat me. He was doing that for about a minute until Allison went outside her room. I guess she had been watching the whole time. Anyways, when she got out she tried getting in the middle of both of us but John just shoved her away. This was when I threw something at him and I had managed to get away with Allison. I wasn't sure where to go so I just ended up at the park. It was the same park that Allison and I were at. Then when I was about to leave I bumped into you. And I guess we just started to see each other more and more."

This was when Lana looked up only to find Clark's dumbfounded expression. "So that was how we met each other agan?" Clark asked. All Lana did was nod her head. "What happened to John? Did you divorce him?" Lana shook her head. "Then what?" Clark asked again.

Jennifer thought that it was time to give Clark and Lana a private time so she picked up Allison and motioned Matt to go outside. So as the three of them left, Lana and Clark were both left in the living room, alone.

"Clark, I didn't divorce him. I actually just didn't have the chance." Lana looked up trying to prepare herself. "John commited suicide...right after he shot you...in my own house." This was when Lana just broke down. She just didn't want to replay that memory in her mind. It was just a nightmare for her, a nightmare she thought went away. 'What?! I was shot? How come I don't remember? How come I don't remember that night at the park?' Clark struggled to stand up, he wanted to hold Lana and comfort her, just like he did in high school. "Hey its ok." he whispered in her ear. "It's all in the past now." he said as he tried to comfort her. Lana just held on him tight not wanting to let go.

Chapter 29

Next day

Things between Clark and Lana are still a little weird. Lana hadn't explained what had happened between them since they were reunited with one another. About how they fell back in love with each other, or how they went to visit Smallville, or the part about Alicia. She just thought that Clark still needed more time, she didn't want to overwhelm him or scare him away. Besides she thought that he was still trying to process the whole John thing.

Clark was at home while Lana and Allison were at the store. He was watching some tv because he didn't know what else to do. Clark still had to take it easy, he wasn't going back to work until next week. He was trying very hard to try and remember things, but he just couldn't. His train of thought was cut short when he heard a knock on the door. He struggled to get up, but managed to slowly walk towards it. What stood on the other side just very much shocked him.

Clark just stood there not knowing what to do. He hasn't seen this woman in years..supposedly. "Alicia?" he asked. "Hey Clark." she replied with the biggest smile on her face. Clark moved so that Alicia can have space to come in.

She took off her coat and moved towards the couch. "You are one hard guy to find." she said slightly chuckling. "What are you doing here?" he asked as he takes a seat next to her.

"Well, you kind of left in such a hurry back at Smallville. I'm sorry if I scared you...but I wanted to let you know how I felt. I wasn't going to let you out of my life that easy....not again." she informed him as she moved a little closer.

Clark was just so totally confused. "Wait Smallville? And how did I leave you?" Now Alicia was the one with the confused look. "Clark don't play dumb. Don't you remember, you were at Smallville visiting you're mom and you ran into me."

Now it was Clark that thought he should explain. "Alicia, I don't remember that. I don't remember any of it. I guess you haven't heard. You see there was an accident while I was at work..and when I woke up, I couldn't remember anything from the past couple of years. Alicia was trying to understand what he was saying. But then when he said that he couldn't remember a thing from the past years...an idea came to her head. "Well, how about I fill you in?" she asked with a flirty smile.


Lana and Allison had just gotten back from the store and where now headed towards Clark's apartment. She was about to turn the knob but she heard some laughing. She got curious so she put her ear against the door. She heard Clark's voice and then a woman's voice. She didn't know who it was...preparing for the worst she opened the door. What she saw was something out of her very own nightmare. There on the couch, she saw Clark and Alicia being very close. They were laughing and having a good time.

Clark turned to Lana and his smile quickly faded when he saw tears threating to fall. He slowly got up, "Lana." he started but wasn't able to finish since Lana dropped the bags and turned around with Allison in her hands.

Chapter 29 Continued

KNOCK KNOCK

"Ok ok, I'm coming!" Jennifer said as she ran to the door. "Lana omg, what happened? Come in." she said as she opened the door wider. Lana stepped inside as more and more tears came down her angelic face. She sat down and let go of Allison. Jennifer closed the door and moved to where Lana was. "Honey, please tell me what happened." she said as she rubbed her arm. "Cl-Clark...I saw him wi-with Ali-Alicia." she stuttered. Jennifers jaw dropped to the ground. "What?! That ***** is over there? How did she get here?!" she said raising her voice. "I don't know. God Jennifer, is there something wrong with me? How come these things always happen to me? What did I ever do?" she asked as she wiped away her tears with a kleenex. "Baby, you didn't do anything. There is nothing wrong with you. I think the question is what's wrong with Clark." she said as she tried to comfort her friend.

'Clark what is wrong with you? First you cheat on her and then you have the nerve to have her in you're own apartment? Can't you see that Lana is already hurting enough without you doing this to her. Oohh, that b!tch better not be at that apartment when I get there.' Jennifer angirly thought.

"Lana, are you going to be ok here? I kinda need to do something." she said looking into her puffy red eyes. All Lana did was nod her head. Jennifer stood up and opened the door. "I'll be back." was the last thing she said before walking out the door.


KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Clark! You better open this damn door!" Jennifer yelled as she kept banging on the door. Finally Clark opened the door, "Jennifer what are you doing here?" he asked. But Jennifer just ignored his comment as she pushed past him. "Okay where is she?" she asked as she looked around the room.

"Looking for me?" Alicia asked as she appeared from the hallway. Jennifer furiously walked over to her. "As a matter of fact I am. What the hell is your problem?! Why can't you just find your own guy and leave Lana's alone." she said only inches away from her face. "Actually I think you got that backwards. You see Clark is mine and I think Lana's the one that's intruding." she said as she stepped back.

Clark was just standing near the door just watching the two women exchange words. "Look, this is just alll a misunderstanding." Clark said trying to calm the two down. But Jennifer just held her hand signaling him to stop. "No Clark let me finish." then she turned back to Alicia. "Look b!tch, you had you're chance with Clark and you blew it. Clark is in love with Lana NOT you. So I think you just need to get over whatever you and Clark had becuase it's all in the past." she said again getting in Alicia's face. "I'm not the one who needs to get over it. Cuz you see I'm not the one who messed up, I think that was Lana. If Lana loved Clark as much as she said she did, then Lana should have done everything in her power to keep them together in high school." she said with a sly grin.

This made Jennifer just so very angry. "Omg!! I think you got hit in the head one too many times. I'm sorry if you don't remember but Lana wasn't the one who turned down Clark's proposal." she said now happy that she got the upper hand. Clark was stunned. That's not what Alicia had told him. "Wait, what? You turned down my proposal? But you said that you accepted. Then you told me that when it came down to the wedding day, you said that I was the one with cold feet and that I was the one who ran away." Clark said now getting angry at Alicia for lying to him.

Alicia then backed away from Jennifer and walked towards Clark. " That did happen. Look she's lying, she's just trying to get you to hate me just so you can get back with that girl." she said as she took his arm. But Clark swiftly pulled it away, "That girl has a name, and it's Lana." Clark then moved away from her as he sat down since his body was just hurting too much.

Jennifer knew that there was no way Alicia can talk herself out of it so she continued. "Go ahead Alicia, tell him how you turned him down and how Clark was so hurt that he moved to New York just to get over you. And how he met Lana here and fell back in love with his high school sweetheart. Then when they visited Smallville you just couldn't stand the fact that Clark was in love with somebody else. Wasn't that why you decided to steal Clark away from Lana? Isn't that why you kept trying to spend as much time with him as possible? Isn't that why you kissed him knowing Lana would see or find out about it?"

Clark looked up and stood up. "Is that true Alicia? Is it all true?" he asked looking into her eyes. Alicia didn't know what to do, this wasn't part of the plan. "Yes! Ok! It's all true! I messed up when I said no to you. I wanted you back which was why I did all those things. But it was because I just love you so much that I am willing to do anything for you...for us." she said as her eyes started to well up. "It looks like you've wasted you're time." Clark said as he headed towards the door. Jennifer was standing there happy with what just happened. "Hope you've learned your lesson." she said as she followed Clark

Chapter 29 Continued (Part II)

"I messed up didn't I?" Clark asked as he looked out the window. Jennifer took a quick glance at him before focusing her attention back on the road. "It's not like you knew Clark." she said trying to reassure him. "Yeah but I should have been smart enough to ask questions and not just believe what one person said."

"Hey don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sure Lana will understand." she said. They just pulled up in front of Jennifer's house. Both slowly got out and headed towards the front door. Right when Jennifer was about to reach for the knob, Clark immediately stopped her.

"Wait, what if she won't talk to me?" he asked getting nervous by the second. "Don't worry, I've known Lana for years now and I know how she feels about you. She'll be happy to see you." she said as she proceeded to turn the knob. Clark took a deep breathe as the two stepped into the quiet living room.

"Lana! Lana I'm back." Jennifer yelled trying to look for her. Jennifer spotted her exactly where she was when she left. She saw her sitting there motionless, with a blank expression on her face.

Clark followed Jennifer towards the living room. Lana didn't hear Clark come in until Jennifer said, "And I brought someone with me." she said moving aside to show her a nervous Clark. "Hey" Clark said softly with a weak smile. Lana just slowly stood up with now a hurt look.

Jennifer can sense the tension and thought she should give them some alone time. "I'm just going to take Allison out for some ice cream." She walked past the two as Clark moved closer to Lana. She just stood where she was preparing herself for what Clark was about to say. "Lana I am so sorry." he started. "Clark.." Lana began but was stopped by Clark. "No Lana please let me explain." Lana gave him a nod as he continued. " I know I messed up. I messed up when I believed all the things Alicia told me. Things about how she accepted my proposal years ago and how it was me that ran away. I believed her when she said that I was still in love with her and you were just getting in the middle of it. But Lana now I know that they were all just lies and that whatever feelings I had for her are...gone. Because Lana, the second I saw your face in that hospital I knew that you were the only woman I wanted to be with. I don't know what happened the day we saw each other again or everything that followed it. But if it's ok with you, all I want to do is to just start over. No need to tell me what happened in the past. I don't want to go backwards, all I want is to move forward...with you and Allison." he said with a weak smile.

At this point Lana had tears in her eyes, but these where happy tears. She knew that Clark really meant every word. And she was just relieved when he said he wanted to move forward and start over.

Lana started to move her feet closer to him for the first time since he got here. Clark on the other hand just opened his arms as she jumped on him. They hug for awhile until Lana pulled her head back. They starred at each other until Lana pulled his neck down to meet her awaiting lips. The kiss was so passionate and powerful. It's been awhile since they kissed that both of them forgot how good it felt.

After their heavy make out session Clark groaned from the pain he was feeling. Lana noticed this and forgot all about his condition. "Oh Clark, I'm so sorry. Here sit down." Lana helped Clark walk towards the couch.

She brushed some of his locks away from his forehead and just concentrated on carressing his cheeks. "You don't know how happy I am right now." she smiled knowing now everything will be back to normal.Slowly she swooped back in for yet another unforgettable kiss
