Chapter 9: Smallville High


The lunch didn't go exacty how Clark had planned. He wanted to take care of Josh.. it was his duty, to his son. And he wanted Lana to understand this but she just shoved it in his face. Telling him that since he wasn't around when Josh was growing up he couldn't be apart of Josh's life now. Like he had a choice.. she took Josh away from him. And now she's blaming him!

Clark was rustling the tools in the barn when he found saw a skinny figure approach him. He quickly got up to see Henry Small come walking steadily towards him.

Henry: Hey! Clark, nice to meet you.

He quickly shook Clark's hands. Clark shook his hands firmly... confused. 'Why is he doing here? Clark hasn't seen him in years.. maybe he heard Lana was back.'

Clark: Mr. Smalls.. what are you doing here? Not that I don't appreicate the company.

Henry looked around. He was figiting with a screw driver in one hand while he stuck the other in his back pocket.

Henry: Um.. I heard Lana was in town.. I came by to see here. She is staying here isn't she?

Clark: Yeah, but she's at the Smallville Inn now. She didn't want to stay here.. Who did you hear this from?

Henry: Chloe Sullivan, she phoned me yesterday. I thought it was a very good chance to see my.. grandson. Can you believe it.. I'm a.. Grandfather!! I.. I can't believe I'm that old.

Clark: Believe it.

He smiled. Seeing how Henry was so execited about Josh and meeting Lana again.

Henry: I just have one question. Is.. Josh your son?

Clark: Uh, Um.. well.. yes.

Henry: She's been with that Jason guy for 16 years now.. but I knew you were the father.

Clark: How'd you know?

Henry: The way she looked at you.. all those years ago.. it was the same look I got from Luara. I know that it's difficult knowing you have a son when he's like 15.. but just know that no matter what. You are the father.. and that gives you certain rights.

Clark: Yeah.. Well whatever those rigths are they don't concern Lana. I just wanted Josh for now until the end of Summer and she absolutey refused!

Henry: Clark.. don't worry it's a mother's tendency to protect her child. Lana's just afraid that if you and Josh get too close it'll hurt even more when your not around. And she's just afraid you would replace Jason in Josh's life. She just's scared of what might happen... not only will Josh get too attach.. but she might too.

Clark: Lana's afraid? I didn't think of it that way..

Henry: Clark, don't worry about it.. I remember standing in your shoes so many years ago. Discovering I had a daughter.. was probably the best thing that's happened in my life! I was worried at first, but it all came out great!

Clark: No offense Henry, but our it's really not the same. Mr. and Mrs. Lang weren't around when Lana came to you. If they were it would have been a totally different story. Mr. Lang would have stopped her.. and Mrs. Lang would be worried that Lana would get too "attached"

Henry: True, True.. but it's your story.. the only person who can write it is you. If you want your son.. you have to act like a father to him and in Lana's eyes a great one. He'll eventually trust you.. and Lana will be forced to leave her cautious feelings behind. Whatever you do.. just know that Lana can't make all the decisions.. you have a right.. and so does Josh. Take a stand. Son.

Josh arrived at the football field. Cheerleaders chanting while football players practiced while their coach yelled and blew his whistle.

Coach: Todd! Danny's open!! Throw it!! Throw it!!

He yelled as the quarterback immediatly threw to the wide reciever. It was a perfect throw follow by the perfect catch. Another whistle blew marking a touchdown.

The team ran back. Practice was over, and the cheerleaders went into their locker room with Alexis staying behind. Josh gave her a quick wave and walked over towards her.

Josh: Hey,

Alexis: Hi, you came. So what do you think?

Josh: Not too shabby..

Alexis smiled.

Todd watched from the side. He saw the most beautiful girl, who he had been after since the beginning of the school year talking to some new kid. 'Who is this kid?'
Todd excused himself from the coach which was pretty easy because he's the star and all.. the coach's favorite. He walked cooly over to Alexis and Josh.

Todd: Hey, Alexis

Josh turned around seeing the presences of another boy.

Lana laid on her bed at the hotel. She was extremely bored.. she can't imagine a day when she didn't have anything to do.. ever She wondered how the hospital was doing.. and how was everything being taken care of. She hadn't seen Josh since yesterday since he decided to stay on the farm.

Chloe hasn't came yet. She didn't want to go around Smallville until Chloe came because Smallville has change quite a bit since her last visit. She was flipping channel when her cell phone ranged.

Lana caught the caller ID reading 'Jason'. She quickly flipped it over.

Lana: Hello

Jason: Hey, it's Jason

Lana: Jason who?

Jason: Very funny, so how are you doing?

Lana: Bored. Who's everything going with you?

Jason: Believe it or not. I've got everything under control. How's Josh?

Lana: He's find. He's met someone.

She turned off the TV with her remote and went to the couch.

Jason: Really? After all those times we've pushed him to go out with that girl.. he fell for a girl in two days??

Lana: Yeah, she's gorgous, brunette, hazel eyes, 5'4, slim, and very attractive. He was sweating so much when he got up to talk to her.. I swear he was going to faint.

Jason: [chuckles] he doesn't get that from me. I've got to met this girl. So is Clark okay with all of this?

Lana: We had a fight.

'A fight? Is that good or bad?' Jason thought to himself.

Jason: What about?

Lana: Clark wants to have Josh stay wtih him from now til the end of the Summer!

Jason was quiet for a moment. 'He wants to be the father. I can't blame him.'

Lana: Of course I disagree.. I mean he hasn't been around a day in Josh's life.. and for 2 days of knowing Josh he wants him to stay that long! I.. I.. just can't believe him!

Jason: How does Josh feel about this?

He asked in a worried voice.

Lana: I don't know.. I haven't asked him. I don't know if Clark did.. but it doesn't matter because there's no way I'm going to let Clark take him for 5 months.

Jason: Lana, we don't have a choice.

Lana was shocked to here this! She thought Jason would at least be on her side.. she was defending him!

Lana: What?! What do you mean?

Jason: Honey, we've got to let him make his own decision. If we try to stop him.. it would only make it worst. He's stubburn and once he's made his choice.. we can't stop him. No one can. Like when he made his choice to go to Smallville. Lana, if you try to stop him.. we would end up hating you for not letting him decided. He has to know that whatever he chose we will to support it.

Lana: I know I can't do much. But I don't want to lose him.

Jason: I don't think you have much to worry about.

Lana: What about you?

Jason: I've been the dad for 15 years.. I don't think he can forget me that easily. And if I know Clark, he'll watch out for him. Josh can take care of himself and I think we should let him stay.. to get to know his father.

It hurted Jason worst than ever to say this... but he couldn't be self fish. He's got Josh for 15 years and even if it meant he might lose him to Clark. He knows that he would want Josh to still look to him as a father, a friend, a love one and not as someone who would stand in his way. Jason loves Josh and Lana.. and his only fear right now that he would not only lose Josh.. but Lana as well.

Alexis: Josh this is Todd Cokey. Todd, this is Josh..

He shooked Josh's hands.

Todd: Josh.. how do you know Alexis?

Josh: Oh, um we just met yesterday at the Talon. I'm new in town.

Todd: You look fimilar.. have we met?

Josh: I doubt it. I'm from New York.

Todd: Oh, So Alexis what do you think of that last throw? Pretty hot, huh?

Josh knew this guy liked Alexis.. how could a guy not? He felt a bit jealous when he put his hands on Alexis's shoulders but he can tell Alexis wasn't really interested.. was she?

Josh: Yeah, good arm. But if you lean your arm back a little more and raise your elbow towards a straight line. You could get it a lot farther.

Todd got mad.. 'Who the heck does he think he is? I'm the quarterback.'

Todd: Who are you to tell me this?

Josh: Sorry, Dude.. I just thought I tell you. So Alexis.. do you want to get some coffee or something?

Before Todd could say another word-

Alexis: Yeah, of course just let me go take a shower and change. I'm covered in sweat right now.

Josh: No problem.

Todd: Alexis.. you forgot you were going to help me with my English paper.

Alexis: Oh yeah.

Todd had an evil grin in his mind but he didn't want to show it.. not yet.

Alexis: You can come along. I could help you at the Talon. Is that Ok Josh?

Josh: Of course.

He gave her another Charming Smile which made her heart melt away.

I respect the limited time you have...but, you really need to look at the number of viewers again...this fic has almost as many admirers as "goodbye my love".

The only reason this fic is behind in views is because it's been so long since you updated....and even then you have over 11000 views......"goodbye my love" has 14000......there are people who want to see an update here....trust me....

Do it when you can...but, don't proceed with the false assumption that no one wants an update here....because they do...

Chapter 10: The Rebuttal

Lana was channeling, something she hasn’t done in a long time since she’s been so busy. She suddenly heard a knock on the door. ‘I wonder who it is.’ She got off the bed and headed towards the door.

When the door swung open, revealed blonde women with a huge smile an twinkling eyes.

“LANA!!” Chloe called in excitement. Chloe quickly ran up to give Lana a big hug. “I haven’t seen you since god knows when! How have you been?”

“Good… Chloe, I missed you so much. It’s so good to see you!!” Chloe finally let’s go of Lana and follows her into her room. “Not a moment too soon.”

“What do you mean?” Chloe asked in surprise. “I’m am bored to death here, I was about to go get a cappuccino at the Talon. You got to come, see what Lex has done with the place. It’s beautiful.”

“Great, let me just drop my suitcase.” The two women grabbed their coats and hurried out of the door. The Inn wasn’t too far away from the Talon so they decided to walk.
“Chloe, this town has changed so much. I mean, since we’ve been here. How long has it been since you’ve come back?”

“Ages I guess. I’ve been so occupied with The Planet that I haven’t come back in a while. And then there’s my little girl. I wanted to come back, but I’ve just been so busy. What about you? Why haven’t you come back, I mean besides the obvious?” They walked passed the old stores, admiring the changes.

“I couldn’t, I miss it. You know the place where you grew up and everything. You can’t really replace it.” Lana sighs. “But coming back I’ve brought a whole new true with me.”

“How’s Jason? Has he really forgiven you… for you know… his mother’s death?” Chloe asked cautiously. “Mostly, he has been totally understanding and forgiving. I mean, I don’t know what to do without him. When he came back, I was afraid he was still the same guy… always searching for those stones. But he totally gave it up on it. He says ‘it’s my mother’s desire to have those stones, but mine.’ He’s helped me through so much.”

“So he really does love Josh, even when he knows that Josh is half alien?” “I think so, I mean I think he’s always knew… the strange things that occurs, me always defending Josh situation after situation. He probably just wasn’t sure until I confirmed it.”

“Then, Lana, what’s your choice? Who’s it gonna be, Jason or Clark?” Lana looks nervously at Chloe. She remains silent until they reached the Talon.

The Talon was completely filled up. Henry Small sat at the corner, seeing Lana and Chloe come in. He stands up and walks towards them.

“LANA!” He exclaims loudly rushing to hug his daughter. “Dad” He held her tight, squeezing her until she could barely breathe. “What are you doing here? I thought you are staying in Metropolis?”

“Well, that’s no way to greet your father.” He joked. “But if you must know, Chloe called me. I’m surprise you didn’t call me!” Lana felt really bad. “I’m sorry Dad. I didn’t want to disturb you.”

“Nonsense, I’m retired! I’ve got nothing today but golf each and every day. I needed to get out. So where’s my Grandson? Josh is it?” Lana nodded. “I don’t really know where he is. But, let’s get a drink and we could talk.”

They ordered the drinks and caught up. Henry made a point about Josh being not only Lana’s but Clark’s. He reminded his daughter that a man deserves the right to take care of his kid.

“In these situations, you can’t be selfish Lana. I’ve talked to Clark… he’s upset. And I don’t blame him. Think about it, what would you do if you were Clark?” Henry made his point. “Dad…”


Josh was sitting at the far back corner of the Talon. He and Alexis were having a lot of fun even when considering that Todd kept trying to ‘touch’ her every few minutes.

“So Josh, who’s your parents, let guess, its Clark Kent right?” Josh nodded “I knew it, you look just like him. So who’s your mom?” Josh looked to Alexis for a moment then back at Todd. “See her that lady over there? In the jeans and a pink blouse, that’s my Mom.”

Todd’s eyes widen… “That’s your Mom? Damn, she’s hot! How old is she? Like 25?” Josh laughed. “No, she’s 34. She just looks young.”

“Who are those people she’s with?” Todd asks still eyeing Chloe and Lana. “I’m not sure; I’m going to find out. I’ll be right back.”

Just as Josh walks over to the table, Clark comes in with an upset face. Seeing Josh, he drags Josh over to the table and begins his statements.

“Lana, I can’t take this anymore! If you are going to be stubborn a ***** about this, then I’m going to fight you Lana. I’m going to fight you to the end to take custody of our child! You have absolutely no right to stripe me of my own son! If you would open you eyes maybe you would see that Josh doesn’t want to stay with you, maybe he needs a father who would be able to help him through his special changes. All I ask is for my rights as a father! Rights that I never got… I never got to be there for you when you found out you were pregnant, to feel the baby’s kick, to rush to the hospital to see the birth of my child, to wake up to the his cry in the morning, to see him take his first steps, or hear his first words, to take him for the first time, or to be there for him on his first game! I was never there Lana! Not for one event. I’ve got NOTHING! NOTHING!”

Lana was outraged by Clark’s anger, it hit her hard. “Have you ever stopped to think why? Why did I take him away from you? You wouldn’t be able to handle it… Do you think you would be who you are now if each step of the way you had to worry about me or Josh?! No, you wouldn’t be able to fulfill your destiny! You can’t blame for keeping it a secret.”

“No? Why? You let me live half of my life not knowing I have a son… Do you know what it would mean to me? I thought… that I couldn’t have kids…but now looks like I don’t have one either way. I don’t get the right to call him child. Because… I…I wasn’t there. No… Jason was there! Jason is Dad, and I’ll always be the father who abandons his child. Now, you still want me to just leave everything alone…so you could go back to living your wonderful life in New York. You want me to be a broken man… if there’s nothing I can say to change you mind… then I will fight you Lana, I don’t care how much it cost, I will have my rights, and I will be able to raise my son… you asked for it.

I loved that. Go Clark. I hate to say this, but I hate Lana in this story...she's such a *****. In some ways I don't think she ever loved Clark, how could a woman claim to love someone and take their child away from them like that.

Still...

I can't see how Lana and Clark can ever get together here. Too much bitterness, and Jason wouldn't deserve anything too bad in this story.

Heyy, I want to thank you for your feedbacks HC and Treker. To be honest, I did not mean to make Clark so mean, rude, and nasty. That was just my mood at the moment... I'm sorry to say that my writing does reflect a lot on my mood.

I have been giving this fic a lot of thought lately, and I really do not know what to do. I can't seem to find a way to solve the Clana issues.

So, if anyone has any comments, suggestions, or advice please feel free to post it here or PM it to me.

I really want to write this story based on what my readers what to see... so please help me by giving me advice or suggestions.

Chapter 11: A Dark Secret

The outraged Clark walked out of the Talon and into his truck. Thank goodness that the Talon was extremely busy that afternoon and that since they were all the way in a corner or else the conversation would have very well been public knowledge.

Lana still is shocked at Clark’s spontaneous outburst. Josh just stares at the table rather than his mother while.

“Okay… well that was most excitement I had over the past 16 years.” Chloe sipped her coffee. “Lana, talk to him.” Henry suggested before getting up to shake Josh’s hand.

“Jesus, he looks just like his father. Except he has your nose, I can tell.” Josh looked surprisingly at this man.

“Josh, this is Henry Small, my father and your Grandpa.” Lana spoke. “But, I thought you said that my grandparents died in a meteor shower.” Josh said in a surprise tone, surprising Henry as well.

“They did, when I was about your age, I found out that—this man, Henry Small, was in fact my biological father.”

“Grandpa” Josh hugged Henry tight. “Don’t tell me you’re a lawyer too?” Josh asked. His other Grandpa was a lawyer, and great one at that.

Henry nodded. “Now, I have 3 Grandpas.” Josh laughed. “And who is she Mom? Your sister—cause I’ve found out more about you in these past few days then I have over the past 15 years.”

“This is Chloe Sullivan. She’s a good friend of my, and in a way she’s just like a sister to me. So yes, she’s your aunt.” Josh just looked from his newly discovered Grandpa to his newly discovered aunt. “Aunt Chloe, what do you work as?”

“Well my little nephew, if you must know. I’m work for The Daily Planet as a top reporter and I major in journalism kind of like your Dad.”

“Cool. So do you actually do some PI?”

“Yes, it’s one of my favorite aspects.”

After they have gotten to know each other better Josh had to leave to return to his date and Henry had to go out to buy some stuff leaving only Chloe and Lana time to talk.

“Lana, talk to him. Elucidate why you had to do what you did. I’m sure he’ll understand.” Chloe explained. “I know Clark, and he loves you. He will always love you. No matter what… you have to tell him the truth. Tell him… what you told me. Tell him what happened.”

“I can’t Chloe. You-know-who made me promised to not to tell him until it is absolutely necessary.” Lana elucidated. “Besides, he wouldn’t believe me.”

“You have to try. Screw what…You-know-who wants you to do, or else he’ll always hate you for keeping his only son from him for all these years. You need him Lana, Josh needs him. Don’t pretend like you don’t. Because the more Josh’s abilities develop the harder it is to control them. And you know this; you can’t go on forever letting him think you betrayal him that you left him.”

“Your not the only one hurting, Clark is hurting as well.”

“But this way is better. Trust me Chloe. Clark will know when the time is right. And I know Clark won’t sue me. He can’t… lawyers would need to take DNA… which we all know Clark doesn’t have, and he won’t risk his secret.”

“Are you sure? I mean, never in my life have I’ve seen Clark this upset and… hurt.” Chloe replied, giving Lana the worried look.

“Yeah, if so I’ll have one of Jason’s attorneys solve it. And I plan on telling Clark before the process even begins… if it even does.”

“Alright, I just think you should at least assure Clark of his rights… I mean let Josh get to know his father. Let him stay for the summer, I mean its obvious he wants too.”

“I guess I am being very selfish, if I don’t give him a reason I’ll have to let him keep Josh for the summer. I can’t fight against two hard headed, stubborn, super powered aliens.” Lana joked before finish up her drink. She and Chloe left and walked to the Kent farm.

“Come on Lana, all you have to do is stand like this.” Chloe posed “and wave your hands like this. So we could get a ride to the farm. My feet are about to break apart if you don’t.” Chloe joked.

“Why don’t you do it Chloe? You seemed to have it down packed.”

“Very funny, but I can’t do it because I’m married! With kids! And I’m betting that people know me too well to give me a ride. Last time someone gave me a ride, I found drugs in the trunk, after I got off, I called a cop, wrote a story on it. And it landed on the front page of the Daily Planet. Of course after that… no one would give me a ride.”

Lana decided it couldn’t hurt. So she stood in the usual pose of what girls would do when they needed to ride and waved her hands.

A silver Porsche speeded up the road and stopped right next to Lana and Chloe. “Lana, I’m surprised to find you… in this position. I’ll be happy to give you guys a ride…”

“Thanks Lex.” Lana replied as she and Chloe climbed into Lex’s Porsche.

“No problem. Where to?”

“The Kent Barn.”

Lex speeded down the road in his Silver Porsche with Lana in the shotgun and Chloe in the back. Chloe didn’t anything to Lex but she could tell Lex still had eyes for Lana. It kind of surprised when he stopped. ‘Why is he here? Why now? Could it be?”

Poor Lana is trying so hard to be noble - pain for them results in the same way it happens when Clark tries to do the same.

It's good that Chloe convinced Lana that it would only hurt her son and Clark even more if they were kept apart.

And, at least you've given Lana some reason for acting the way she did, leaving an opening for them to come back together.

thanks for the update. Nobility in Lana is one thing, but outright cruelty to Clark is another. What Lana's doing to Clark is cruel and I think her son is starting to see things in his mother that is concerning him considering that he now realizes how secretive she has been about her life. How long before you starts becoming resentful for keeping his father from him?

I'm am sorry. I hope you guy can forgive me... My life is so chaotic and theres no way I can but aside times beside on weekends... and that's gotten a lot harder as well. I promise the time will be better in the summer.

Chapter 12: The Confrontation

“Remember if you ever need anything… I’m always here for you Lana. Remember that. Even though we’ve got separate lives. I’m always here.” Lex spoke in soft tone starring Lana in the eyes as she closed the door to this Silver Porsche. “Thank you Lex, for everything.”

Chloe went straight to the kitchen to meet the Kents after departing from Lex’s car. While Lana went for the Clark’s Loft… she knew what she had to do. But how was she supposed to say it?

“Wow… I walked these stairs hundreds of time… is it just me or do they get steeper and steeper each time.” Lana commented on her way up the stairs seeing Clark with his head down on this desk with a pile of work. ‘I guess he’s not talking to me…’

“Clark, you made your feelings towards me very clear after you broke up with me… I could never be the person that you love, and willing to share every aspect of your life with. I figured that out after you broke up with me. You choose to confront the people that you trust most… and as much as I would love to be one of them. Truth is… I never was.” Lana looked blankly at the sunset; she was in a deep state of though, almost like she was trying to remember exactly what had happen those many years ago.

“Lana--” Clark started.

“Please… don’t. I won’t be able to finish if you start talking. So if you could please… just once listen to me.”

Clark got up from his chair and went to sit down on his couch. He signaled Lana to come sit next to him but she refused. “Its easier this way…” Moments later she continued.

“I was in pain… the most gruesome pain and aguish that I have ever felt. To hear those words come out of you mouth… but I survived. A few months later I found out that I found out that I was pregnant and immediately I knew it was your baby because I had never been in bed with anyone else.”

“Why didn’t you tell me? I would of done--” Clark started but stopped remembering his promise.

“At first I thought about telling you…but what good would it have done? You didn’t love me Clark… And if I gotten back to tell you this… I knew that you would have done everything in your power to help me. But it wasn’t right I can’t force you to stay in a relationship with me, I wanted you to truly love me, not because you felt responsible or because you have to.”

Clark’s upper chest pierced with pain... that it actually ached. Hearing the words come out of her mouth was worth then he could possibly imagine. All of his anger towards her slowly faded away, like it didn’t matter anymore. In the end it was his fault. His fault, he told Lana he didn’t love her anymore. He lied to her… and as an action to protect her he had caused both of them more pain than anything.

His eyes started to fill up… he tried to continue listening attentively but he couldn’t. In his mind thoughts keeping popping up about all that he had done. All the pain he had caused her over the years.

Lana was too in much pain. Reliving the most painful experience of her life was sometime that she had wish to do again… she had closed that chapter of life and swore to never open it again… but this time she had to. She absolutely has to despite her pain and the emotional wreck that she was in… that she had place Clark in.

“I promised myself that this time I could not confront you… because all those times that you have protected me… over and over again, time after time. This time it was my turn, I had to protect you. If you were to find out I would not brought you happiness but a feeling out obligation to be with me. If you don’t love me… then you could never be happy with me. I wanted you to find someone that you absolutely love… even if that person was not me. But you have to know that I wanted to tell you… time and time again. I wanted to tell you everything…”

“Why did you?”

“After a few months into the pregnancy I started to get extremely odd and unique side effects. I went to the doctors who told me it wasn’t anything they had ever seen. Lex even got me the best doctors in the world but they just told me the same things. They needed to know who the father was to predict why I am experiencing such odd effects. After that I decided that you needed to know… that I was pregnant. But I never had the chance.”

“Jason… he came back. That was why you didn’t tell me… isn’t it?”

“No, no… I went to tell you. In fact I was standing in this same exact spot 16 years ago. I waited for you to come home. But you didn’t. Instead your father appeared to me…”

“My father? Jonathan?”

Lana shook her head. “Your biological father.”

okay... I lied. I have doing a rushed update to post since I feel really bad about not updating. So here it is. I hope you guys enjoy and sorry about the mistakes.





Chapter 13: Jor-El

Clark just froze in shock after Lana finish speaking. He couldn’t believe his ears. “Lana—what are you talking about?”

“I’ve known your secret for over sixteen years but I couldn’t confront you about it because it was your father’s wish to me.” Lana’s voice begins to break when tears just starts to row rapidly down her cheeks.

“What happened? What did he say?” Clark asks frantically rushing over to give her comfort when her tears turned into loud, painful sobbing.

***************** Flashback *******************

“Lana Lang” a dark voice calls out from behind her. She quickly turns around “Mr. Luthor?” she asks curiously noticing that there was something different about him.

“Miss Lang I am here tell something very important that cannot be kept a secret anymore—now that you are carrying my grandson.”

Lana was baffled ‘what makes him think this is his grandson?’

“Mr. Luthor I am afraid you have mistaken. I’m not carrying your grandson. I’m carrying Clark’s baby.” Lana explains to him.

He just sighs at her taking a seat on the couch. “Oh I know but I’m afraid that you are mistaken because I am not who you think I am. My name is Jor-El father of Kal-El and you Lana Lang are carrying my grandson. He is the son of Kal-El the sole survivor of Krypton the one you call Clark Kent.”

Now it was Lana’s turn to sit down on the couch. She turns around to face him. “What do you mean?”

“Lana Lang what is about to occur, must simply cannot for the future of your kind.” Lana just stares blankly at him “Kal-El was sent here on a mission that he must accomplish, at all cost.”

“What mission? What do you mean by the future of my kind? Mr. Luthor, your delusion.” She gets off the couch walks away.
“Lana Lang, you cannot tell me that you were never once, suspicious about Kal—Clark. What he can do and what he has done. I can give you all the answers that you are seeking but you must listen to me.”

Lana turns around, listening to him carefully.

“What I am about to tell you—you must promise me that no one will know about this, not even Kal-El.”

Uncertain Lana nods her head. “I promise.”

“Many thousand years ago in the far reaches of universe there laid a planet called Krypton. My planet was billions of years ahead of your own but after a tragic accident…it is longer in existent. Before that arrival my wife and I managed to send our only son Kal-El on a journey set course for Earth. For here I knew he would blend in but more importantly, here he would be able to conquer.”

Jor-El makes sure that she is following what he is saying before going on. “The Yellow Sun has a magnificent effect on our kind, giving us power that your kind could not even begin to imagine of. By sending him here, my son would be able to conquer and save you kind from total annihilation. But to do so he must begin his training which he has yet to complete. My son does not understand what his destiny is yet he chooses to define me and he has misunderstood my message.”

“What are you saying?”

“Do not fret. I will give you time to decide, and remember what I have told you for the fate of the world rest in your hands.” With what has been said Jor-El begins to leave.

“WAIT! How do I tell you when I have made my decision?” Lana asks frantically.

“You don’t have to. I will watch your actions and I will know what choose. Remember you will not confront anyone with what has been exchanged here. You will not ever see me again because once I leave, I won’t be able to inhabit this body again. Choose wisely.” His voice fades away.

I'm glad that Clark didn't just cave in and forgive her....I can understand her leaving him....but, he has been back for years; and she lied to not only Clark, but Jason and her son as well.

I think it will take more than a simple "it was Jor-el's fault" to get Clark to forgive her.
