Usually Lex learns his secret while already under the influence of something (or inhabited), but this time he learned it before. You're probably right though, they'll take the easy way out.

Holy crap...Clark in the phantom zone?

Yeah...meaning Lex is still probably on the ship not having a clue as to what is going on.
It looks like Season 6 will be similar to that of Super Man I or whatever. Instead of Clark giving up on his powers and letting Zod destroy everything, Clark is in the PZ.

i think lex will still remember. I think the creators have finally decided to ignore A LOT of superman mythos and take off in their own direction.

I wouldn't mind if they changed the mythos in people knowing Clark is Superman. I always thought it was outrageously lame that Everyone is fooled by Clark's glasses. C'mon! If you want to keep his identity a secret then use a mask for cryin' out flavin!

LEx will not remember the latest 72 hours. As easy as that. Or Clark will turn back time 72 hours. Like Superman did. :)

I would have bought it. As hard as this maybe to believe, but in the Superman movies, it was not only the glasses (they do actually change how you look if the lens are real) and the change of hairstyle that made Clark different, but also his mannarism (higher pitched voice, plus the shy personality.) In the comic, Lex luthor (with the help of a computer) verifies this physical similarity, but rejects it out simply because he refuses to think that Superman would have a weak personality such as Clark Kent.
The way they are going with the show though, it's hard to believe that Clark can disguise himself with glasses. By now, Lex (among others, like lois) knows his facial features and personality rather too well.

I agree, it might be hard this time to have Lex forget everything once they find a way to rid Zod, as he found out about Clark BEFORE Zod inhabited him.
Finally I don't think they can afford taking that step back if they really somehow take the easy route. Not if they're really going to take the story to the next step - "Superhero"

I'm not sure he'll remember everything, but I also think he won't forget it all, either. Before he began the transformation into Zod, he had much more solid information than he had ever known in the past, so I think he'll still be putting the pieces together. Besides--he knows about Kryptonite's effect on Kryptonians--it's only a matter of time before he discovers its effect on Clark.
I guess we'll see.

Clark Should hit him so hard he has amnesia for the previous five weeks. Clark really hasn't gotten to pay him back for sending Simoe after him in HYPNOTIC, or for getting Lana killed (which in turn got Jonathan killed) in Rekoning. Lex needs to catch a worse beating than he did in Mortal. He deserves it. When he wakes up from his Zod exorcisim he should be like " Hey what happened to my front tooth?"

Yeah, I think Clark will somehow make him forget everything that happened, though I would love if he remember having powers at least.

I think it'll be that I can't remember anything prior to me being in that field thing once Zod is eradicated from Lex...Like in Transference from season 4 where Lionel couldn't remember anything after Clark and Lionel switched back into their respective bodies.

Acl most likely when he gets Zod out of him he just wont remember.
Man Lex must not remember like half of his life.

Maybe Lex will get the "kiss of forgetfulness" like Margot Kidder got in S2

Maybe Lex WILL remember, but Clark will deny it and say Lex was seeing things, and that it was maybe a side-effect from being used as a vessel. That'd be cool, if Lex remembered, and Clark gave him some lame excuse like that, because then it'd really push him over the edge to figure out the secret even more...to prove his own sanity, to prove that he saw what he thought he saw.

I don't think thats the real Lex. I believe its a clone. Supposedly in the ship he was "reborn" coming out of the plastic baggie, at least thats what the trailer suggested. Lex is still comatose in the ship, while his Zex buddy is on the loose. The thing I don't get is, if Im right, Why would Fine clone Lex? Wouldn't he just use Lex instead of going through the trouble of cloning him? Ahh who knows

I'm hoping they'll let Lex remember. Someone posted on another thread, Lex believes knowledge is power. So it's conceivable he could learn Clark's secret and never tell. He'll just get a green ring.

So far, I think it could be one of the following:
1 - memory wipe.
2 - roll back time (lame , but I wouldn't discount it.)
3 - Someone convinves Lex that Clark got his powers temporarily from some source (maybe like Lex did, or like Lionel did.) Well... it's smallville, where every week we get a meteor freak.
4 - Someone convincers Lex that it was actualy Milton fine disguised as Clark Kent.
5 - Someone convinces Lex that he was helucinating (even lamer than 2, but still woudn't discount it.)
6 - He gets to keep the secret.

Lex won't remember but the scene with end with it looking like he could remember. Like Oynx and other epsidoes.

Yeah, sadly enough they love to play that card.:p

Yes, they love it. They've done it with both Lex and Lionel many times.

Perfectly well said. Even if they pull off cliche memory loss, Lex is bound to find out because he's not as clueless as Lana is.

I think it'll just be 1 or its a clone. He won't remember anything after being possessed (won't remember Clark defeating Zod), and everything after being taken into the ship will be a blur. Or better yet, everything since being injected will just be a blur and all he remembers is having such aweseome power. This will feed his lust for power, he'll want to get that feeling of immortality back.
I wouldn't discount the clone idea. Maybe the injection was to ensure that he survived the cloning process. They can't just use Lex because he's human. Look at what Kryptonian knowledge did to Lionel, it put him in a coma. I doubt Zod would like to wait for Lex to absorb the information, if he could.
Number 4 is unlikely because Lex saw Clark throw the dagger at Fine. But then again, he could forget that too.

Speaking of clone, wasn't there a Lex clone in Superman mythos? I'm just afraid that it will be another time travel situation.

Yeah, Lex did clone himself in the comics but I can't see that happening in this instance.
I think it will be really easy for them to explain away Lex forgetting Clark's secret. They'll just have Lex conveniantly forget everything that happened after he was "prepared" to be the vessel.

Clark could gain his memory loss power like in superman2 where he erased Lois's memory of her knowing Clark was superman.

Pete's going to come back to smallville and bash the cue ball with a cue stick. Then Lex will not remember and Pete will actually do a significant thing in this show.
