Clark saved Chloe from a car that flew into the Daily Planet, and Clark went to leave to confront Lex. Chloe helps convince him to do it, but he must leave her behind. As Clark walks away, Chloe tells Clark to stop. She walks to him and says "I may never see you again" and kisses him a big long kiss. Very nice, I must say. :D Chlarkers rejoice!!

Yeah, the way it was written actually made total sense. Chloe says she thinks she may never she Clark again, so she says to herself "what the hell", runs up to him and plants one on him! For all those people freaking out about this earlier, this was a pretty good seen. Chloe's actions were to be exected, but Clark she didn't mind!

If he still comes back and pines for Lana in Season 6...i dont know what to say about the boy. She obviously has such high emotion for Lex in the last few weeks she knew him that she gives up her moral high ground of "omg what's happening around here" to "I wanna be with you Lex".

It was a great kiss, a passionate kiss and Clark definitely returned it. There was a nice little kiss sound at the end, too. Chloe looks like a good kisser -- and the way she looks at Clark -- she loves him so much. Big...dumb...alien.

Clark kissed her back (he didn't pull away and the placement of his hands indicate that) and although it appears he was caught off guard he did reciprocate.

I watched the scene several times with my tivo and yes it was reciprocated.

I think it's hard to tell much about how much Clark's mouth was moving during the kiss, but the hand reaching around and literally pulling-- yes, pulling!-- Chloe closer to him is, on multiple inspections, undeniable. I have no expectation for TPTB to do ANYTHING let alone actually have Chlark. I'd love it, believe me, but I'm too pragmatic for that. I may be biased, but it looked to me as if he was unsure if he wanted to stay with Chloe or go and do what he knew that he must. Chloe gave him an unspoken "go ahead" and that's when he left.

i thought the kissing scene was very nice. I been a clark/chloe fan since the show started. They will probly never hook up for a long time but it was a nice scene. It had alot have hart and passion too. They where worried they would never see each other again and chleo wanted to have one last moment with clark incase that is.

I've seen every pick where Clark and Lana or Clark and Alicia or Clark and Kyla have kissed. He looks nothing like that, he's not srunching down. Whether it's the way TW did or not, looks uncomfortable to me.

I have been waiting for significant Chlark since the Pilot. Finally, after five long, mostly painful years we get our first real, reciprocated Chloe/Clark kiss.

It was beautiful, it was amazing, which is everything they are, and so much more than any other couple on this show ever could be.

This NEEDS to go somewhere next season. Chloe is THE girl for Clark, if only he will fully wake up and realize it.

I think he got his first clue tonight. I will hold out hope for him to get more next season.

There was absolutely no chemistry or passion on his side and we even get a shot of Chloe trying to desperately get his attention but he's more interested in the phone ringing. I understand that this was during a tense moment but you would think that the writers would have given it more of a romance vibe if they meant for it to be this big prelude to a romance.

Knowing the SV writers they were trying to make it as ambiguous as possible just to hedge their bets. Doesn't mean that there actually will be Chlark next season though. I was actually more ready to believe there was going to be Chlark until I actually saw the kiss.

This coming from the person that said they hope that they don't make a huge deal out of the kiss and it's just a quick scene? So now you wanted it to have more of a focus?

Clark has to worry about saving the world, but it was quite obvious by him looking back at her that he was hesitant to leave.

I posted about this in another thread, but if there wasn't going to be Chlark next season, why would they have a kiss in the FINALE which is an important episode of the season? And also the FIRST RECIPROCATED kiss by Clark w/o any mindwhammied forces no less? Why wouldn't they just give us our "annual" kiss in an episode similar to what they did in Magnetic during one of their investigations? Cause now? There's no going back on this. The premeire will pick up IMMEDIATELY where the finale left off.

I didn't think the kiss looked uncomfortable, but I think the circumstance was highly charged with emotion and was stressful. Sometimes this is when true feelings reveal themselves.

And as far as Tom and not bending down to kiss her, we know they sometimes build ramps and platforms for the ladies because of the huge height difference. I think I read somewhere that KK, AM and Annette are all 5'4.

And if you look again, he did lean in on her :).
And as far as what some folks said was the lack of passion on his face, I guess we all interpret things differently. What I saw was a really really intense, "the tide is turning" type of gaze. I mean, he looked enraptured.

Where did I say that I wanted the kiss to have more focus? :confused: I said that Clark showed absolutely no reaction towards it, and he didn't. Where in my post did I say that I wanted the writers to make it into a big romantic scene? I was glad that they didn't go this route, actually. I agree. The kiss wasn't all that great. I just don't get the sense that Clark will ever be head-over-heels in love with Chloe. Seems to me that she'll always love him more than he does her.

I hope Chlark doesn't happen next season. The last thing Clark needs is a rebound relationship a la Lexana. I'd like the show to focus on his hero journey, not another relationship that is doomed to fail.

He wasn't so much uncomfortable, than lost. So much was going on. He did kiss her back and I think he was quite surprised by his feelings. It just wasn't the moment to explore those new feelings.

I am not saying that he is in love with her, only that he loves her and that he might decide in the future to explore those new feelings. Chloe will be at the forefront of his mind, after the ZOD/Lex problem is solved.

Lana and Lex kissed better than that when she was surprised by his kiss but she still went in for the 2nd one.

Maybe the writers thought, a Superman won't just change loves so easily like that...yea right, after they already introduce the idea of teenage Clark love-making, they dont want to give Clark+Chloe a better kissing scene?

I wasn't very satisfied with this scene, because Clark didn't respond properly. Not even a "Thanks Chloe, I dont know what will happen either!" or "We'll talk more after this is all over"

Instead...he decides he must answer the ringing phone.

I think what needs to be realized here is that the Chlark kiss is a cliff hanger of sorts for the Clark/Chloe relationship. They want viewers to come back next season and see if there will be anything more.

It was obvious that Clark reciprocated the kiss, his body language and reaction were telling. Clark also held Chloe's gaze for a moment before the phone rang, perhaps with some sense of realization. I watched Clark's reaction to Lana's kiss from Commencement and Clark had the same blank expression. It's just Clark.

The writers had a fine line to keep with the Chlark kiss. On the one hand they don't want to completely give away their intentions for next year, and on the other they wanted a moment between the two.

That's my take.

I just don't see that. How does a kiss mean all their feelings go away now? If anything I think it puts their feelings on center stage. The kiss shows each of them how they feel about each other. Thats just my opinion though.

Excellent point, Nospam. The idea of the season finale is to get the fans all in an uproar over the summer, so we tune back in. If Clark and Chloe had seriously made out, it would have been kind of obvious which direction the show was heading in. Therefore, they directed it so that it came across with deliberate ambiguity, so we now get to debate "was Clark into it or wasn't he?" for the remainder of the summer.

I didn't get the impression that the Mionel was exactly a no-go. Martha may have said there is nothing there, but she obviously feels something for Lionel why else would she keep him around? That said I can only guess as where they are going to take the Mionel next year. Geriatric sex can be so confusing...

I always liked Lana on the show. At least until reckoning. After that, they changed her character too much. And up until a couple episodes ago, I couldn't really see Chloe and Clark hooking up. But recently that relationship has gotten a lot better. However, there would be huge problems with having Chloe and Clark together. If they were to get together, it would be difficult to picture Lois and Clark in the future. Lois is her cousin first of all. Clark knew Chloe since, what, the eight grade? And she knows his secret and has always been there for him since she found out. So if they got together, their relationship would be perfect (fiction-wise of course) and it will be hard to break them up in a believable situation. The only way it would work is if she eventually dies and that's not that unbelievable.

So in the end it comes down to one of these two things:
Either Chloe dies which encourages Lois and Clark to become reporters, or Lois dies and Chloe has to change her name for some reason and she changes it to Lois. After that something maybe happens and she forgets about Smallville later on or whatever, which would explain why she wouldn't remember Clark and why Clark is so in love with Lois since they meet. As crappy as that sounds, the writers of Smallville seem to like memory loses on the show :rolleyes:
