Didn't see a thread on this so I thought I'd make one!

I voted best! I thought this episode was amazing and I'm so glad I didn't read any spoilers on it. It had my attention from start to finish. Oracle was the perfect set-up for the season finale, and now I'm more excited than ever to see it!

I voted 'great'...
it might have been 'best', if not for the anvils they persisted in dropping

I voted 'good'. It was better than most of the episodes this season but it didn't blow me away!

Considering the quality of episodes this season, this was the best in my opinion.

I voted best since the episode blew me away. Of course, I was obscenely drunk at 3 am when I watched it (Kentucky Derby pre-pre-party), so I'll need to watch it again to see if it was as good as I (sort of) remember.

I voted "Good". It was far better than "Forever" and "Forsaken"; however, I would love to have Brainaic/Jonathan to be an actual arc. To have it more than one episode after "Void". To have him visit Clark, and give him info that was accurate. Then lead-into "you have to kill Lionel Luthor". Because in one of James Marsters interviews it made me think this was going to be an arc not something for only one episode :\.

people don't loose ur fight in smallville just yet! I see a lot of people saying that the show has gbeen going downhill ect.. And that scares me, because I've been watching SV for 4 years, and i love it.And that kind of talking reminds me of Sliders or other great series. I hope that with there New CW contract, they'll have a bigger budget!Because what many people don't know, is that Sv's special effects budget was cut real bad;that's why they have less special FX then before.Pray every night for sv , to get a kick ass budget for season 6!!!

i VOTED GREAT!

No, it was Jonathan. But the fact Clark believed it was actually him was the reasoning behind Brainaic/Jonathan. Clark trusted his father, and he knew he was right. They could have had Brainaic/Jonathan for a longer period of time visiting Clark. I just would've like it to be a longer than one episode. That's what I thought it was going to be because of JM's interview. It was actually going to be an arc. I think I was reading too much into it :\.

Oh ok. That would have been a cool arc, too bad they didnt go that route. I thought when Lionel came back to visit Martha and told her about meeting JK, that he was really fine, and he was going to make a move on her.

I never really thought of Fine at the end there. What I thought instead was since Brainaic can be anyone, and even do their voice(T-1000 or Mystique). Heck, why couldn't he find the virus warehouse in guise of Lex .

ETA: They would have had a great opportunity to actually make Brainiac/Jonathan as an arc, but don't do the big reveal that it is Brainiac until this episode. Oh, it would've so cool.

I voted also Great, and yes it looks like that the special effects budget must of been cut. That's what all the studios do as they want to save money and put it back into their pockets. But I did like the whole story and the acting was very good. Keep it SV, and hope that the CW does give it a bigger budget.

I thought it was a great episode myself. Not a favorite of mine. But the show was very good.
I can't wait for next week's episode. I just wish we got the show on tv earlier than 11pm. I think everyone else gets the show at eight pm.:)

it was fair. had too many scenes that didn't make scense.

My main gripe is that they tried to fit too much. I still don't understand what was going on with that virus. It would have been nice if they led up to the virus by presenting clues during each of the last 8-10 episodes. This season could have been great if Clark had to fight Fine about 4-5 times where each time Fine would try different techniques to bring Zod back.

I agree. I think they could have dumped Hypnotic or Tomb to give more time to the virus story. It's weird how they've relegated some of the best storylines this year to the web, or to the Land of Offscreen Smallvlile.

I agree. Unlike the Verizon Text Messages I didn't follow Project Mercury, and still confused by the whole thing :\. I mean usually tv shows have a good build-up despite it being a B Plot, and for this season it felt more like a C Plot this time.

This was a great episode, it's in my top 5 of all time Smallville episodes...

Also the fact that i was almost free from spoilers helped a lot to be surprised by some things that happened and others that i got confirmed... now i can't f***ing wait for the season finale! Bring it on! :D

I voted good. It was just a leadin to the finale. I think the whole Lex injection arc is unnecessary. At least I was spared another Lexana kiss.
I just watched the Kentucky Derby and it made me think of SV. Fast out of the chute, quick to the first turn, then a stumble, and fall. Not the horserace, Smallville! :D

I hope they add all that offscreen stuff to the DVD since I missed it all. Any news on the S5 DVD release date?

i say it was good, included superman mythology, back to sci-fi (instead of soap-operaish relationships), better than a few previous, so i say it was great

It was way better than the past several episodes. I just don't understand why Brainiac just stood there and let Lion-el destroy him. That was weird.

^ I disagree that it's better than "Vessel," though I freely admit that my opinions are greatly influenced by the Chlark kiss in the season finale, mwahaha... Brainiac-as-Jonathan was a really clever plotline, and the villain almost pulled off one of his primary objectives! The Lionel-as-Jor-El's-Oracle bit was very cool, too, and it was great that Clark figured out how to handle the situation himself in the end, and ultimately made the right decision, even though it was an extremely difficult situation for him to have to deal with. Martha's scene with the "ghost" was cool, too, and I loved the birthday party and the closing Clois/Chlark scene. Cute moments, there! The whole virus/vaccine thing seemed a little bit disjointed to me, like there were some bits and pieces missing. Still, this was a pretty powerful episode. I give it 8 out of 10 faked ghostly visions for a good lead-in to the finale!
