Why doesn't Clark have any male friends??? The only friends he has are his mother, Chloe, and Lois!

Well for whatever reason, Pete left and Lois joined. So did Jason, which begs the question, why not just keep Pete. Now Jason is gone too. So there doesn't seem to be space for another male actor because the current cast already doesnt get as much screen time as needed. Eg, it has already been said that in some episodes, Lana or Lois aren't needed for the parts they did show up to do.

exactly my point! thankyou! my question is that when are they going to have a Pete reunion, I mean, they're still in the same state, right?
hmmm, now that I think about this, since the episodes haven't shown anyone in town (SV) for a while, how many males could be his friend? there are no men in Smallville except Clark, Lex, and Lionel! well theres cyborg and all these other people he's saved, but we never see them again :(

Yeah, that surprise birthday party was sort of pathetic. Only two people (not counting his mom) showed up? Clark has no other friends at all besides Chloe and Lois?

I'd hang out with only the SV ladies anytime.

In a previous time, Lana would have been one of them.

It's totally plausible that Clark wouldn't have other friends, I dont actually see it as lame that only a few people showed up. Let's say he knows people around town and at school..if he's still going.

Given his secrecy and running off to do extra-human activities, I doubt anyone would know him well enough to plan a party for him.

Those 3 right there are the best he has now.

Pete should come back to fill in the hole that JK left. I'm not sure how long John Glover will remain as his character will probably be killed off soon (probably next season). They should bring back Pete since he's a character who has a very important role in Clark's future. And I know of a lot of stuff (like I posted in the Character Destinies thread over at the Mercy forum).

My guess is that they tried working Pete into the show's plot, but it never really worked. First he was the best friend and had a thing for Chloe, but when that seemed forced, they let him in on Clark's secret. That sorta got him more involved, but they never made more of it than Pete getting kidnapped and tortured (which they did at least a couple times). Episodes like Velocity didn't help either.

I don't know why they were never able to integrate that character into the show, but my guess is that that's why they removed him. Why they haven't introduced any long-term Clark-age male characters... beats me.

as i said earlier on in this thread, I think that there should be a FOTW reunion, then clark would have more male friends. i think cyborg would be a good friend for clark. and yes, bring pete back, he didn't need to go and they should have a pete reunion too!

I suppose dropping out of college and holing up on the farm in between hanging out at the DP and barging in on Lex would be kind of isolating for Clark. But...

There's no excuse for there being no Pete. If he went to Kansas A&M, Clark would've seen him there, and if he went to Met U, he'd be seen there too. Maybe Pete went to Harvard.

It would be so great for Clarkie to have a new buddy. I vote Cyborg if we can't have Pete.

Maybe it is because the ultimate alpha-male Superman or even CK has a hard time just being "one of the guys" to the guys. Superman as far as I know has never had many male friends in his alter ego. He is close to many women but only slightly attached to any males. Only ones that come to mind are Perry (Editor/Boss) Jonathan (Father) and sometimes Jimmy (Co-Worker). He has superfriends :) but they are more a part of his saving the world aspect.

A FotW reunion at this point would start looking dangerously like a meeting of the Justice League haha.

Clark
Aquaman
Flash
Cyborg (i don't know if he's an actua JLA member, but close!)

And just for good measure, throw Vengeance in there... I liked her.

More seriously though, I actually like the dynamic between Clark and his many ladies. It's interesting to see the future Superman having only female influences.

But if I were to vote on a male buddy for Clark, I say Lionel all the way.

Bruce Wayne is clarks best friend as well as his best friend in the super hero buisness,

Cyborg is part of the Teen Titans, he shouldn't even be born yet. He should be the same age as dick Grayson's Robin character
