I'm totally confused. In this episode Clark doesn't know that Jor-El is using Lionel's body as a vessel? Why? Clark saw Lionel in the FOS talking as Jor-El earlier on in the season. Heck, Lionel has acted like Jor-El several times already right in front of Clark. Am I missing something?

Clark was dead. It's possible that he doesn't remember.

He probably had it in his mind but still doesn't trust LL enough to tell him.

That's probably true. He was probably fishing to see what Lionel did know.

Chloe at least reacted realistically when she said, did hell freeze over that we're now allying with Lionel Luthor?

If you think about all the Smallville relationships, there are always reasons to dislike each other yet they always come back together.

Even Clark and Chloe had their turn at some hostility, and anyone versus Lex and Lionel all have their reasons to not even bother talking to these two billionaires.

Those are all good points but what about the scene after Lionel-El desinigrates Brainiac at the Kent farm and Clark asks Lionel "Who are you?" Either Clard doesn't remember or he really is stupid.

Maybe Jor-El took away his ability to remember the scene at the FOS after he resurrected Clark.

on the topic of Jor-El : he seems nicer than the first 3 seasons, like he wants to help Clark more than take him away (btw, does he still want his son back? i forgot)

GottaLoveHotSuperHeroes,

There's actually a discussion on Lionel's goodness or evilness right now on this episode discussion. It says: What's the Verdit on the Former MB? You should check it out. People have some pretty intriguing theories there. Personally I think he's maybe turned good....and what do you mean by "does he still want his son back"? You mean like, does he still want to have a relationship with Lex? I think he does deep down but just doesn't know how.

LuthorRequiem2: thanks, I'll check it out.
and i meant does Jor-El still want Clark to come to him (last ep of season 3), stones, blahblahblah... be returned to him, Jonathan Kent says, 'it's not his time.' , 'i didn't think it'd be so soon.' that kinda thing. and I was talking about Jor-El not Lionel (but I see how that got confused because Jor-El is possessing Lionel).... woooo, my brain hurts after all that :)

Clark is stupid and like every other character on the show his memory isn't very good.
