i cant really piece together all this vaccine stuff. using it to inject lex seems like a completely different agenda then destroying the world.
i understand that lex and fine were at first working together to make a super virus (what for, i have no clue... why would lex be interested in a super vaccine? for fun?). lex then began to have his doubts about fine, and began piecing together a vaccine for a super-virus that he himself helped to create?
so fine takes some extra "juice" and mixes it with the vaccine lex made behind his back?
ALSO - why does Zod want to kill all humans? does he want to use Earth as a home for kryptonians? i thought they were all dead...
i clearly need help with this.

With these writers, who knows where they're going with this....

does lex think that "the extraterrestrials" are going to bring to earth a virus? what makes him think extraterrestrials are on their way?
also, coming from a molecular and cellular biology background, this idea seems absurd to me. an extraterrestrial race would have viruses that are completely specific to their race. it most likely wouldnt even be transmissable to humans. i dont understand lex's concern.

Check out the blog on Aol. gives you some info. But I think that Brainiac will hold a "Vaccine" (maybe fake) for ransom if Clark doesn't release Zod. OR lex becomes inhabited by Zod, and with the vaccine, his body is immune to the disease.

someone just asked this at imdb.com and i agree:
<<Why does Fine need to develop a killer virus, when he already has the technology to inflict the kind of virus he did on Martha in "Solitude"? >>

I think Lex is more concerned that Fine was working with the extraterrestrials (He thought he was 'reporting to a higher power' or something, I forget the exact wording) and as he knows Fine has been collecting viruses, he's more concerned with the extraterrestrials coming up with a 'super-virus.'
That said, what you mentioned about race-specific viruses goes both ways. If they did make this 'super-virus', it would likely kill humans... but have little to no effect on Kryptonians.
For what he knew, Lex's thinking makes sense to me.

Based on Lex's getting fixed from his cut, and the trailer showing him fighting against Clark, the "vaccine" probably was a potion to get Lex into Super-Lex mode.
Or, perhaps, to make his inner Sageeth appear, also giving him the extra power.
Fine said he just needed on dose...that dose was meant for Lex from the beginning.

mikemike: I got a little confused too! we're in this together :)
sadly, I forgot who (general) ZOD is, but now I know :)
to everyone else (I'm still confused): Do you think that both Lex and Lionel know about Kryptonians and how much and where did they get this mysterious knowledge?

Lionel got the info from being possessed. I dont think he knew about Clark prior to that possession.
Lex knows about the aliens' weakness because Lana just told him. (The 2 of them assumed Fine was the same kind of alien since he was at the ship). I dont know if he knows they are called "Kryptonians".

thankyou.
and after Fine poked his long sword of a finger at Lex's neck, was Lex forced to tell him everything? is that why Fine knows everything already when they go to the lab? or does he have some weird mind-reading power? also, I'm not up with the Superman mythology and everything so when Fine says, ' I'm not Kryptonian, but they made me." something like that, explain... and why do I keep seeing him called Brainiac?
hehe... thankyou for your support in my confuzzled state.

Maybe Super Lex is about to become a slave, an unwilling minion of Brainiac and Zod. Another weapon they can use against Clark.

Here's the story on Brainiac (aka Professor Fine)

Braniac is Krytonian artificial intelligence, which is also why he can duplicate himself. Lex will probably be a vessel for Zod and so Braniac needed to give him the vaccine so he isnt infected by the virus. Thats my theory.

The stuff injected into Lex definatly reminded me of the black oil from X-Files

Ok check this out...
Brainiac has been gathering all these viruses from around the world. He told Lex that it was to protect people from some impending danger. So Lex has been making a vaccine in preparation. The techniques used, however, to create this virus were given to Lex's team by Brainiac - apparently some kyptonian virology unfamiliar to his scientists. But they finished the vaccine, and when Brainiac came back, he was only concerned with injecting Lex with it. Why, because he intends Lex to be Zod's vessel, and since he is about to unlease all the viruses that he has amassed onto the world, Zod will be unaffected since he will be inhabiting an immune vessel.
Lex originally mass produces the vaccine (which is NOT what Brainiac wanted) because he wasn't sure of Brainiac's true intentions. But apparently, all the vaccine was destroyed after Brainiacs destruction of the lab.
So it's not that the vaccine is needed for Zod to inhabit Lex, it's so that when he shows up on the scene, he will have this tremendous advantage and a means to wrest power from mankind.

I honestly don't know why some people keep saying that Zod will destroy the human race to bring a new Krypton to Earth. Why would someone so manical give up absolute power over humans? If Zod was to create a new Krypton under the yellow sun, they'd all be as powerful as he is. I can understand his need/want to get rid of Kal-El. 1) Revenge and 2) No one to defy him.
Apparently, not all of them are dead. The two Kryptonians that came from the ship, Zod, and Kal-El. If the Phantom Zone was a prison then they'd probably have more people there, too. But like I said, Zod isn't one to give up absolute power.
