Why didn't Clark hear Lana and Lois coming towards the dorm room door? He can use his super hearing in other episodes..but not when he's sneaking around ? Also, when was this shot suppose to take place...wasn't Lana and Lois conversation over ...why were they going back to the dorm? Curious

I believe that his hearing is a power, not an all-the-time thing...like his super speed, he doesn't walk around listening to people a mile away. He has to focus somewhat to hear things.

yea he does need to focus and was paying to much attention in finding t he information he was looking for.

Didn't like the forced Lois+Lana either but maybe the writers thought it was a cool "passing of the torch" story or something.

I actually don't even remember them being friendly in any episode. Suddenly she sticks up for Lana (3 hour talk, visiting in Metropolis, tells Clark don't go snooping at Lana's stuff!)

I would have to agree. There is no excuse for Clark to get caught snooping in Lana's stuff. When you are going through peoples things the first thing you should be concerned about is when they are coming home. Plus, he could have run his idea past Chloe and either had her stall Lana or look herself or, and I know this is a radical idea, he coul dhave ASKED LANA. He ended up asking her anyway

I think he was a bit pre-occupied... happens to everyone, get caught up in something and stop paying attention to other things around you.

we don't really see him use powers anymore, not for a while anyways, what happened? turning into a soap almost, bring us back some sci fi!
