I wonder if the virus has something to do with Lex possibly being possessed by Zod. Maybe that's the way he comes to Earth, but I don't see how a virus could make Zod inhabit Lex. We'll see next week...

If you've been following the Project Mercury site, this is exactly what is impied there.

What I don't clearly understand is why Zod would need a host. He's not dead. But maybe it's something about the Phantom Zone that we don't understand.

it seems pretty clear that Zod will inhabit Lex, but who knows we could see the general in his own body by the end of the episode.

Maybe the plans of Brainiac and Zod is to turn the human race to whatever Lex was turned into...It doesn't make sense to have Lex be a host body to Zod. Zod's not dead, just imprisoned in the PZ. Plus, Zod was almost released on Solitude without a host body.
